Role of mmP-2 and mmP-9 and their natural inhibitors in liver fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis and non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases

BACKGROUND： There is a growing evidence that matrix metalloproteinase （mmP）-2 and mmP-9 （gelatinases） play an important role in the pathogenesis of numerous disorders, especially with inflammatory etiology and extracellular matrix （ECm） remodeling. Despite the fact that gelatinases involve in liver cirrhosis is provided in the literature, their role in the pathogenesis of chronic pancreatitis and non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases is still under investigation. DATA SOURCES： We carried out a Pubmed search of Englishlanguage articles relevant to the involvement of gelatinases in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis, pancreatitis, and non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases. RESULTS： The decreased activity of gelatinases, especially mmP-2, is related to the development of liver fibrosis, probably due to the decrease of capability for ECm remodeling. Similar situation can be found in chronic pancreatitis; however, reports on this matter are rare. The presence of non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases results in mmP-9 activity elevation. CONCLUSION： The fluctuation of gelatinases activity during liver fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis and non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases is observed, but the exact role of these enzymes demands further studies.

Projected Changes in the Climate Zoning of Côte d’Ivoire

This study assesses the projected changes in the climate zoning of Côte d’Ivoire using the hierarchical classification of principal components (HCPC) method applied to the daily precipitation data of an ensemble of 14 CORDEX-AFRICA simulations under RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios. The results indicate the existence of three climate zones in Côte d’Ivoire (the coastal, the centre and the north) over the historical period (1981-2005). moreover, CORDEX simulations project an extension of the surface area of drier climatic zones while a reduction of wetter zones, associated with the appearance of an intermediate climate zone with surface area varying from 77,560 km2 to 134,960 km2 depending on the period and the scenario. These results highlight the potential impacts of climate change on the delimitation of the climate zones of Côte d’Ivoire under the greenhouse gas emission scenarios. Thus, there is a reduction in the surface areas suitable for the production of cash crops such as cocoa and coffee. This could hinder the country’s economy and development, mainly based on these cash crops.

The determination of the chemical composition of cocoa butter and the isotopic contents of the carbons (C-2, C-1 and C-3) of the glycerol contained in the cocoa butter were measured by the NmR-13C from the INEPT sequence. This technique has already been applied to triglycerides of animal origin. Thus, cocoa butter is made up of nearly 66% saturated fatty acid composed mainly of stearic acid and palmitic acid. monounsaturated fatty acids represented by oleic acid have an average content of 31% and polyunsaturated fatty acids represent less than 4%. Likewise, the isotopic contents of the glycerol of the triglycerides of cocoa butter in 13C of the carbons C-2, C-1 and C-3 were measured directly and values vary from -11‰ to -19‰ for the C-2 and from -39‰ to -41‰ for all C-1 and C-3 because of the symmetry of glycerol.

Understanding the Local Carbon Fluxes Variations and Their Relationship to Climate Conditions in a Sub-Humid Savannah-Ecosystem during 2008-2015: Case of Lamto in Cote d’Ivoire

The temporal variations of the Gross Primary Productivity (GPP), the Total Ecosystem Respiration (TER) and the Net Ecosystem Exchange (NEE), and their responses to meteorological conditions (e.g. temperature, radiative flux and precipitation) at Lamto, in wet savannah region across C?te d’Ivoire are analyzed using GFED-CASA and daily meteorological data recorded over the 2008-2015 period. The study shows the links between these carbon fluxes and climate variability at Lamto that is subject to high anthropogenic pressures and seasonal bushfires. The correlative statistics from multiple regression methods were used to assess the different relationships and show how they change in time. The results show important seasonal variability in the Gross Primary Productivity and the Total Ecosystem Respiration mainly associated with the changes in temperature and radiative flux. In addition, the statistical analysis suggests a high correlation between meteorological conditions and the GPP and TER. These climatic conditions may explain 83% and 79% of the variances of GPP and TER respectively. moreover, the interannual variability of the Net Ecosystem Exchange indicates that around Lamto, in the subhumid savannah, the ecosystem behaves as a carbon sink similar to other West African ecosystems. On the other hand, there is no clear link between the NEE and temperature, radiative flux and precipitation. This lack of connection may suggest a limited response of the NEE interannual dynamics related to the changes in climatic features.

Climate variability impacts on cocoa production are evaluated for the first time using 31 years (1979-2010) of data from SODEXAm (climate ground- based observations) and the ex-CAISTAB in three main cocoa production regions (Goh, marahoué, and Haut-Sassandra) in the west-central part of Cote d’Ivoire. The work is a contribution to improving the quality of climate services dedicated to cocoa cultivation to ensure producers’ income and improve the yield of the production in the west-central part of Cote d’Ivoire. The results show that cocoa production is affected by the changes and variability in climate conditions (i.e. rainfall and temperature). In the Goh region, the increase in cocoa production seems to be mostly related to the augmentation of rainfall amount while in marahoué, the increase in temperature is identified to have a more significant impact. Over the Haut-Sassandra region, both temperature and rainfall seem to have a considerable effect on the changes in cocoa production. The analysis based on linear regression by least-squares fit shows two characteristic modes (low and high-frequency variability) in the relationships between cocoa production and meteorological conditions suggesting a strong temporal signal impact related to the changes in the emblazoned surfaces. This leads to an important impact of the short-term variations of climate in cocoa production whereas, the influence of the long-term variability in climate on the cocoa yield seems marginal.

目的讨论肺结核的发病现状及有效预防控制策略。方法于2018年1月至2019年2月,选取我州的110例肺结核患者成为此次研究观察对象,继而将其随机分为对照组(给予常规的病情监测及用药指导,不实施预防控制策略)与研究组(实施预防控制策略)各55例,评判标准:并发症发生情况、临床症状缓解率及健康知识知晓率。结果研究组患者肺气肿及肺心病并发症的发生率明显低于对照组,P<0.05;研究组患者临床症状缓解率的94.55%明显高于对照组的54.55%,P<0.05;研究组患者健康知识知晓率的96.36%明显高于对照组的63.64%,P<0.05。结论预防控制策略的实施可有效的降低肺结核患者发生并发症的机率,改善其临床症状,提高其健康知识知晓情况,值得推广。

Increased presence of effector lymphocytes during Helicobacter hepaticus-induced colitis

AIm： To identify and characterize drosophila mothers against decapentaplegic （SmAD）3-dependent changes in immune cell populations following infection with He- Iicobacter hepaticus （H. hepaticus）. mETHODS： SmAD3/ （n = L9） and colitis-resistant SmAD3＋/ （n = 24） mice （8-10 wk of age） were in- fected with/-/, hepaticus and changes in immune cell populations [T lymphocytes, natural killer （NK） cells, T regulatory cells] were measured in the spleen and mesenteric lymph nodes （msLNs） at 0 d, 3 d, 7 d and 28 d post-infection using flow cytometry. Genotype-dependent changes in T lymphocytes and granzyme B＋ cells were also assessed after 28 d in proximal colon tissue using immunohistochemistry. RESULTS： As previously observed, SmAD3＋, but not SmAD3＋/- mice, developed colitis, peaking at 4 wk post-infection. No significant changes in T cell subsets were observed in the spleen or in the msLNs between genotypes at any time point. However, CD4＋ and CD8＋/ CD62L＋＋ cells, an effector T lymphocyte population, as well as NK cells （NKp46/DX5＋） were significantly higher in the msLNs of SmAD3/ mice at 7 d and 28 d post-in- fection. In the colon, a higher number of CD3＋ cells were present in SmAD3＋ compared to SmAD3＋/- mice at base- line, which did not significantly change during infection. However, the number of granzyme B＋ cells, a marker of cytolytic lymphoo/tes, significantly increased in SmAD3＋ mice 28 d post-infection compared to both SmAD3＋/- mice and to baseline values. This was consistent with more severe colitis development in these animals. CONCLUSION： Data suggest that defects in SmAD3 signaling increase susceptibility to H. hepaticus-induced colitis through aberrant activation and/or dysregulation of effector lymphoo/tes.

目的:探讨复方余甘子散对糖尿病大鼠血糖及血液流变学的影响。方法:大鼠50只随机分为模型对照组、实验组及正常对照组;其中实验组分为:高剂量组(2 g/kg)、中剂量组(1 g/kg)、低剂量组(0.5 g/kg),每组10只。模型对照组及正常对照组,均按l mL/100 g体重每天灌胃生理盐水一次,实验组予以复方余甘子散按照分组进行不同剂量灌胃给药,每日一次,连续21天;分别从实验开始的第0、7、14、21天检测所有大鼠的空腹血糖;21天末次给药后lh腹腔注射10g/kg乌拉坦麻醉,从腹主动脉抽血,置加肝素抗凝剂的洁净干燥试管中,抗凝血于血流变仪测定血液流变学各项指标。结果:用药21天后,实验组的大鼠的多饮、多食、多尿、消瘦等糖尿病症状较模型对照组有一定改善;实验组中各剂量组空腹血糖水平,随给药时间呈现持续下降趋势,21天后实验组中各剂量组空腹血糖水平较模型对照组明显降低,差异有统计学意义(p<0.01)。糖尿病大鼠血液黏度、红细胞压积显著高于正常组,差别有统计学意义(p<0.01)。给予复方余甘子散后,实验组中各剂量组大鼠全血低切黏度、红细胞压积较模型对照组降低,差异有统计学意义(p<0.05)。结论:复方余甘子散能降低STZ诱导的糖尿病大鼠的空腹血糖水平,同时具有改善糖尿病大鼠血液流变学"粘、凝、聚"的倾向,提示该药物可用于糖尿病及其并发症的临床治疗。
