Traditional rice varieties have been widely cultivated and popularly consumed by Asian people for a very long time and have recently garnered increased consumer *** or indigenous rice varieties are known to be rich in a wide range of bioactive compounds,particularly phenolic compounds,flavonoids,tannins,anthocyanins,proanthocyanidins,phytic acids,andγ-*** have identified 32 phenolic acids,including hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives,and 7 different flavonoids in rice *** bioactive compounds have unique physiological effects on human ***,rice grains exhibit nutraceutical potential for antidiabetic,antiarthritic,anti-inflammatory,antibacterial,and antitumor *** this review,we critically analyzed the bioactive components of traditional rice and their nutraceutical potential in protecting against harmful microbial *** ensure that future generations have access to these beneficial substances,it is crucial to preserve traditional rice varieties.

Following extensive bowel resection, the intestinal tract undergoes a variety of adaptive responses to enhance bowel function. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of glutamine-supplemented parenteral nutrition on mucosal cellularity and gut function. In addition, enterocyte gene expression of two relevant systems was also characterized and related to the structural and functional changes that occurred. Male Wistar rats underwent a 60% small bowel resection and jugular vein catheterization and were randomized into two groups. The control group (n = 10) received a standard intravenous nutritional solution and the study group (n = 10) received a similar solution but enriched with alanylglutamine dipeptide. After 7 days blood was taken for amino acid analysis, and bowel was harvested to determine mucosal morphology and expression of mucosal cell glutaminase and IGF-I mRNA. Mesentery lymphnodes were cultured to determine the presence of bacteria and thus access bacteria translocation. Serum glutamine concentration and mucosal architecture were maintained in the study group compared to the controls. Boron is an important micronutrient that enhances reproductive growth of crops such as *** also plays an important role for pegging of *** has been little information on the application of boron and light in groundnut in Bangladesh.A field experiment was conducted to study the effects of boron and light on the reproductive development of two groundnut *** considered as two groundnut cultivars,viz.,‘Dhaka-1(C1)’and‘BARI Chinabadam-8(C2)’,three levels of boron(B),viz.,0-kg B ha^-1(B0),1-kg B ha^-1(B1)and 2-kg B ha^-1(B2),and two levels of light,viz.,normal day light(≈12-h light)and normal day light+6-h extended red light at night(≈18-h light).Result revealed that the reproductive development,yield and shelling percentage of groundnut were markedly increased with the application of *** to imposition of light all of reproductive units increased but decrease number of pods and pod *** highest reproductive unit and yield were observed from‘BARI Chinabadam-8’.Therefore,reproductive development could be improved by application of boron in improved cultivars(BARI Chinabadam-8)but not for under extended light.

This work presents a new velocity search algorithm for designing a condenser of a 1200 MWe large-scale nuclear power plant situated in tropical *** this,the condenser pressure was considered in the range of 7.5-15 kPa while its tube inner diameter was taken as 28 mm with 1 mm tube wall *** longitudinal and transverse condensers with multiple shell tanks and varied shell tank lengths from 8-14 m have been considered in this *** different tertiary coolant temperature rises were chosen as 4°C,8°C and 12°C by considering tropical region average reservoir water temperature range of 28°C to 32°C during *** of tertiary coolant was kept within 0.75-1.5 m/s to ensure sufficient turbulence to avoid erosion-corrosion of the *** simulation has been employed to obtain tube-side pressure drop and convection heat transfer coefficient directly from tertiary coolant inlet velocity using κ-ω turbulent flow model.A new iterative“Velocity-search algorithm”has been developed that focuses on finding the correct tertiary coolant velocity instead of overall heat transfer *** revealed that velocity-search algorithm yielded very close to the important physical and thermal parameters of condenser compared to the existing design data in large scale nuclear power ***-search algorithm has given less number of condenser design physical parameters that meets the velocity acceptance criteria for longitudinal condenser compared to the transverse ***,velocity-search algorithm is found to be more reliable,robust,and consistent for condenser design compared to the conventional design algorithm used in Log-Mean Temperature Difference method.

Cholesterol could be adsorbed on the surface of hanging mercury drop electrode, and gave a sensitive 2.5 order oxidative peak by anodic stripping procedure. The peak potential is -0.01v (Vs SEC). The peak current is linearly proportional to the cholesterol concentration in the range of 1.0x10(-5)similar to 1.0x10(-7)mol/L. The dection limit is 5.0x10(-8) mol/L. In this paper, The electrode response mechanism of cholesterol has been studied, and the optimum experimental conditions have been found. This new method for determination of cholesterol has been applied to actual samples.

Electromagnetic coupling via an evanescent field or radiative wave is a primary characteristic of light,allowing optical signal/power transfer in a photonic circuit but limiting integration density.A leaky mode,which combines both evanescent field and radiative wave,causes stronger coupling and is thus considered not ideal for dense *** we show that a leaky oscillation with anisotropic perturbation rather can achieve completely zero crosstalk realized by subwavelength grating(SWG)*** oscillating fields in the SWGs enable coupling coefficients in each direction to counteract each other,resulting in completely zero *** experimentally demonstrate such an extraordinarily low coupling between closely spaced identical leaky SWG waveguides,suppressing the crosstalk by≈40 dB compared to conventional strip waveguides,corresponding to≈100 times longer coupling *** leaky-SWG suppresses the crosstalk of transverse–magnetic(TM)mode,which is challenging due to its low confinement,and marks a novel approach in electromagnetic coupling applicable to other spectral regimes and generic devices.

We theoretically study the structural, elastic and optical properties of Er Pd Bi together with its anisotropic behaviors using density functional theory. It is observed that Er Pd Bi satisfies the Born stability criteria nicely and possesses high quality of machinability. The anisotropic behavior of Er Pd Bi is reported with the help of theoretical anisotropy indices incorporating 3 D graphical presentation, which suggests that Er Pd Bi is highly anisotropic in nature. It is noticed that the minimum thermal conductivity is very low for Er Pd Bi compared to the several species. This low value of minimum thermal conductivity introduces the potentiality of Er Pd Bi in high-temperature applications such as thermal barrier *** addition, deep optical insights of Er Pd Bi reveal that our material can be used in different optoelectronic and electronic device applications ranging from organic light-emitting diodes, solar panel efficiency, waveguides etc. to integration of integrated circuits. Therefore, we believe that our results will provide a new insight into high-temperature applications and will benefit for the development of promising optoelectric devices as well.

Growth performance of Avicennia officinalis L. and the effect of spacing on growth and yield of trees planted in the Western coastal belt of Bangladesh

A trial ofAvicennia officinalis L. with five different spacings was conducted in the newly accreted lands along the western coastline （Patuakhali district） of Bangladesh since 1993 to assess growth perform- ance and the effect of spacing on tree growth. Data on tree density, height, diameter, bole height, crown diameter were recorded and ana- lyzed when the stand was 19 years old. Mean height ranged from 12.89-13.52 m and diameter at breast height （dbh） from 26.57-32.16 cm in plots of different spacings. The mean annual height increment ranged from 0,67-0.71 m, mean annual diameter increment from 1.40-1.69 cm and wood volume from 6.02-10.04 ***＇*** in different treatments. Significantly greater diameter （32.16 cm） and wood volume （10.04 ***.a-1） were obtained with wider （2.13 m × 2.13 m） spacing than with closer spacings. But tree growth was unaffected by other spacings. Growth data were also recorded from other .4. officinalis plantations raised by Forest Department （FD） on different islands in Patuakhali and Bhola districts of Bangladesh. At these sites, mean annual height incre- ment ranged from 0.33-0.62 m, mean annual diameter increment from 0.72-1,37 cm and wood volume from 1.55-5.73 m3·ha-1·a·-1. The growth performance of A. offindicated that the newly aecreted lands along the western shoreline may be suitable for raising Avicennia planta- tions for the enrichment of coastal vegetation.
