Background:Sinusitis is a common diagnosis that can be erroneously associated with routine weather‐related barometric pressure *** actuality,these pressure changes likely exacerbate migraine headaches,which can cause facial pain and pressure rather than true sinus ***:The present study sought to characterize the representation of both sinusitis and migraine in association with barometric pressure changes across websites on the ***:An Internet search for relevant terms was conducted,and content of the resulting pages was assessed for associations between weather‐related pressure changes and either sinusitis or *** in reported results across different subtypes of Internet sources were *** primary outcomes measured were(1)whether a given media source associated barometric weather changes with sinusitis,(2)whether that source associated barometric weather changes with migraine,and(3)treatment options offered by that ***:Of the 116 included webpages,36(31.03%)associated sinusitis and routine barometric pressure *** these,10(27.77%)were otolaryngology practice ***‐seven webpages(57.76%)associated migraine and routine barometric pressure *** these,nonotolaryngology webpages were more likely to report this ***:Otolaryngology practice sites were observed to be the most frequent professional medical resource reporting the unsubstantiated claim that routine barometric pressure changes are associated with *** sources were more likely to link weather‐related pressure changes to *** results suggest that opportunities exist for otolaryngology practice sites to educate patients about nonrhinogenic headache etiologies.

Rainfall data is probably one of the longest-recorded climatic parameters in Lebanon. On the central coast of Lebanon, the Beirut weather station started collecting rainfall data in 1876. However, the recorded data is not available at one data provider source. Published data is found in historical documents but it reaches the early 1970s and then appears a data gap till 1990. Still the data is available, but it might be found to be saved privately. This study investigated the SPI variability on annual time scale between the years 1876 and 2021. The SPI was computed using R-Stat software to compare every year between 1876 and 2021. The majority (about 70% of the years) of the years are near normal in the precipitation rate. The Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) demonstrated a normal distribution of years. Dry and wet years constitute about 15% of the total 146 years (1876-2021). Extremely dry years might appear in two consecutive years between 50 to 60 years count. After 1991, there were no wet years it was only near normal and few dry years. The last 30 years showed a trend of increasing drought years without any occurrence of wet years. This study demonstrated the importance of keeping records of at least rainfall data and it must be recorded on a daily basis or intensity on time. It is highly important on a managerial basis and for water security reasons to understand the drought event occurrence and investigate the changes in rainfall rates. Climate change scenarios always forecast a decrease in rainfall rates which will not appear without such studies.

The increasing popularity of herbal medicine and the well-established health benefits of phytochemicals have spurred the multiplicity of nutraceutical and phytopharmaceutical *** this study,Trévo^TM,a nutraceutical and phytopharmaceutical product,was evaluated for beneficial effects in acetaminophen-induced hepatic toxicity in Wistar *** received Trévo^TM(1.5 mL/kg,3.0 mL/kg or 4.5 mL/kg)orally for 14 *** was induced by the oral administration of acetaminophen(2 g/kg),24 h prior to *** liver function tests,oxidative stress indicators and histoarchitectural changes were *** administration occasioned significant increase(P<0.05)in serum bilirubin level and activities of the aminotransferases,alkaline phosphatase,γ-glutamyltransferase and lactate dehydrogenase accompanied by a significant decrease(P<0.05)in albumin level as well as histopathological alterations in liver *** of hepatic oxidative stress by acetaminophen was revealed by significant(P<0.05)increase in lipid peroxidation,depletion of reduced glutathione,and decrease in superoxide dismutase and catalase *** of Trévo^TM remarkably ameliorated acetaminophen-induced histopathological alterations and changes in serum and tissue biochemical *** protective effect of Trévo^TM(4.5 mL/kg)was at par with that of Silymarin(25 mg/kg).The present study indicates that Trévo^TM has notable salubrious effects.

静水压环境下岩石动态压剪耦合力学响应与本构模型

静水压环境是深部岩石的典型应力赋存状态,并且岩石内存在多尺度的结构面,易遭受压剪耦合的复杂动力扰动。因此,探究静水压环境下岩石动态压剪耦合力学响应及损伤本构模型对于深部岩石结构安全评估和动力灾害防控极为重要。本文应用霍普金森压杆试验装置,对倾斜砂岩试样进行动态压剪耦合试验,揭示静水围压、动态荷载压剪耦合比及加载率对岩石力学特性的影响规律;基于Drucker–Prager准则和Weibull分布,建立静水压环境下深部岩石动态压剪耦合损伤本构模型。结果表明:1)岩石动态强度及变形模量随着加载率及静水围压的增大呈增加趋势,强度的围压效应及加载率效应明显,动态荷载中的剪切分量能削减岩石承载能力并提升岩石的变形能力。2)随着动态荷载剪压比和静水围压的增加,岩石冲击破坏模式由拉伸主导的内部锥形破裂面及表面劈裂转变为剪切主导的单一平面破坏;动态荷载中的剪切分量对静水围压作用下岩石的动态破碎存在明显的限制作用。3)采用极值解析法推导了模型分布参数F0和m的解析表达式,探究了模型分布参数F0、m和损伤修正系数q的物理意义及其对本构模型的影响规律;同时,对比不同工况下试验和理论应力应变曲线,验证了该模型的合理性。本文揭示的静水压环境下岩石动态压剪耦合动力响应与建立的损伤本构模型,可为复杂动力扰动下深部岩石工程安全建设与灾害防护提供理论支撑。

肠道病毒(Enterovirus,EV)是小RNA病毒科(Picornaviridae)肠道病毒属(Enterovirus)的成员。肠道病毒属包括EV-A~EV-L 12个肠道病毒种和RV-A~RV-C 3个鼻病毒种(Rhinovirus)。其中EV-A~EV-D主要感染人类,EV-E和EV-F主要感染牛,EV-G主要感染猪和羊[1-5],也有报道从羊体内检测出了EV-E和EV-F[6-7]。山羊及绵羊肠道病毒(Caprine/Ovine enterovirus,CEV/OEV)是一种新发病原,主要引起羊以高热、严重腹泻、流涎等为主要特征的疾病,有时也会表现为脑炎和脊髓炎[6-8]。

The inhibitory effect of methanol extracts of Brachystegia eurycoma and Detarium microcarpum seeds flours on some key enzymes[α-amylase,α-glucosidase and aldose reductase(AR)]linked to the pathology and complications of type 2 diabetes(T2D);and their antioxidant properties were *** antioxidant properties evaluated were DPPH•and ABTS•^+scavenging abilities,reducing power,and antioxidant phytochemicals(total phenolics,tannins,total flavonoids and total saponins).Extracts of both flours inhibitedα-amylase,α-glucosidase and AR in a dose-dependent *** half-maximal inhibitory concentrations(IC50)of *** onα-amylase,α-glucosidase,AR and lipid peroxidation were lower than those of ***,indicating that it had stronger inhibitory potency than *** also had significantly(Pabilities,and reducing power than *** antioxidant phytochemicals(total phenolics,tannins,total flavonoids and total saponins)were also significantly(P<0.05)higher in *** than *** inhibitory effect of *** and *** extracts onα-amylase,α-glucosidase and AR activities may be attributed to the combined action of their polyphenols and total saponins,and this may be a possible mechanism of action providing support for their use in managing hyperglycemia and the complications of T2D.

Fifth generation(5G)cellular networks intend to overcome the challenging demands posed by dynamic service quality requirements,which are not achieved by single network *** future cellular networks require efficient resource allocation and power control schemes that meet throughput and energy efficiency requirements when multiple technologies coexist and share network *** this paper,we optimize the throughput and energy efficiency(EE)performance for the coexistence of two technologies that have been identified for the future cellular networks,namely,massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)and network-assisted device-to-device(D2D)*** such a hybrid network,the co/cross-tier interferences between cellular and D2D communications caused by spectrum sharing is a significant *** this end,we formulate the average sum rate and EE optimization problem as mixed-integer non-linear programming(MINLP).We develop distributed resource allocation algorithms based on matching theory to alleviate interferences and optimize network *** is shown in this paper that the proposed algorithms converge to a stable matching and terminate after finite *** simulation results show that the proposed algorithms achieved more than 88%of the average transmission rate and 86%of the energy efficiency performance of the optimal matching with lower complexity.

Objective: To explore the possible inhibitory potentials and mechanism by Mobola plum(Parinari curatellifolia) seeds crude methanol(CE) and flavonoid-rich(FE) extracts on angiotensin-1-converting enzyme(ACE Ⅰ).Methods: The sensitivity and kinetic model of inhibition of CE and FE on ACE Ⅰ using N-[3-(2-furyl)-acryloyl]-Phe-Gly-Gly as enzyme substrate for ACE Ⅰ was evaluated by Michealis Menten approach. The inhibition mechanism was explored from Lineweaver–Burk model and IC_(50) was determined from Cheng–Prusoff empirical ***: The IC_(50) of CE and FE were 13.54 and 39.38 mg/m L, respectively. Both extracts exhibited mixed type inhibition with the inhibitory constant(K_i) of CE was between0.38 and 0.37 mg/m L while that of FE showed a two-fold increase(1.62 mg/mL and0.28 mg/mL). FE on ACE Ⅰ demonstrated positive cooperativity with a Hill's coefficient ***: The study reveals the superior ACE Ⅰ inhibitory potential of CE over FE and suggest that mixed inhibition pattern of the enzyme might be the underlying mechanism of antihypertensive activity.
