Diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a het.rogeneous disease t.at.displays a highly variable clinical out.ome. It.is a neoplasm of large t.ansformed B cells wit. a diffuse growt. pat.ern. DLBCL is t.e most.common t.pe of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) (31% of all cases). Approximat.ly half of pat.ent. wit. DLBCL are cured wit. current.chemot.erapy regimens. t.e purpose of t.is st.dy was t. evaluat. BCl2 expression in 45 pat.ent. diagnosed wit. DLBCL of head and neck region and correlat. t.e level of it. immunohist.chemical expression wit. different.clinicopat.ological variables wit. emphasis upon pat.ent.’ age, gender, nodal or ext.a-nodal locat.on of lymphoma, pat.ent.’ response t. chemot.erapy, progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). A ret.ospect.ve analysis of 45 pat.ent. diagnosed t. have DLBCL. A cut.off value of ≥ 50% prot.in expression denot.d BCL2 posit.vit.. Out.of 45 cases, 36 cases (80%) revealed BCL2 posit.ve expression and 9 cases (20%) were BCL2 negat.ve. We found st.t.st.cally significant.differences in BCL2 expression regarding different.pat.ent.’ responses t. chemot.erapy, pat.ent.’ OS and PFS (p ≤ 0.05). No st.t.st.cally significant.differences in BCL2 expression regarding t.e pat.ent.’ Ann Arbor clinical st.ge, age group and t.mor sit. (nodal or ext.a-nodal, p > 0.05) using t.e Chi-square t.st. BCL2 expression was analyzed in relat.on t. 5 years OS and PFS using Kaplan Meier curves and Log Rank t.st.for survival analysis. Cases t.at.demonst.at.d BCL2 posit.vit. revealed short.ned OS and PFS wit. highly st.t.st.cally significant.differences among t.e st.died variables (p = 0.000). We also found t.at.pat.ent. who respond well t. t.e chemot.erapeut.c regimen had negat.ve BCL2 expression, t.e differences were st.t.st.cally significant.(p = 0.015). In conclusion, BCL2 expression could be considered a predict.r for pat.ent.’ chemot.erapeut.c response, OS and PFS.

CVS.
