Many countries are relying on electric vehicles to achieve their future greenhouse gas reduction targets;thus,they are setting regulations to force car manufacturers to a complete shift into producing fully electric vehicles,which will significantly influence the adoption rates of electric *** research investigates the temporal evolution of battery electric vehicle(BEV)ownership growth in Turkey,drawing insights from both historical and current *** employing and optimizing the Gompertz model,we provide a year-by-year projection of BEV ownership rates,aiding in exploring the anticipated timeline for BEV market *** findings indicate that the introduction of BEVs into the Turkish motorization market is poised to push further market saturation by approximately 15 years,to occur in around 2095 as opposed to ***,our analysis underscores the rapid growth pace in BEV ownership compared to the ownership of internal combustion engine vehicles(ICEVs).The main aim of this research is to provide Turkish policymakers and transport planners with solid insights into how the vehicle market will perform in the short and long run,allowing them to prepare a smooth transition from traditional vehicles to BEVs.

Evaluation of Charcot Neuroarthropathy in Diabetic Foot Disease Patients at Tertiary Hospital

Purpose: To evaluate Charcot neuroarthropathy in diabetic foot patients at tertiary hospital. Methods and Material: It is a retrospective study from 2005 to 2015 of Charcot foot patients in diabetic patients admitted in King Abdulaziz University Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Sixty-four patients were admitted as diabetic foot disease and were studied by reviewing patients records of demography, pain, discharge, duration of disease, duration and types of diabetes IDDM [Insulin Dependant Diabetes Mellitus] NIDDM [Non Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus], history of trauma, peripheral vascular disease, obesity, hypertension, co-morbid conditions, previous surgery, involvement of fore foot/midfoot/hindfoot, deformity, ulcer and treatment like casts, offloading devices, pharmacological like biphosphonates, debridement, osteotomy, arthrodesis, exostectomy, and amputation. Results: Majority of patients were males (81.2%). Mean age was 61.75 years. Pain was reported in 25% of patients, numbness in 12.5%, foot deformity in 23.4%, pus discharge in 73.4%, difficulty in walking in 12.5%, and 10.9% had history of trauma. Majority of patients were NIDDM 68.8%, IDDM 31.3%, (62.5% had DM more than 10 years and 36.9% had DM less than 10 years), controlled DM in 21.9% and uncontrolled DM in 73.4%, nephropathy in 46.3%, neuropathy in 59.4%, retinopathy in 40.6%, cardiomyopathy in 48.4% and vasculopathy in 56.3%. Charcot arthropathy was in 28.1% of cases and forefoot was involved in 65.5%, midfoot in 4.7% and hindfoot/ankle in 21.9%. It was forefoot which was mainly involved in Charcot joint disease. It was demonstrated by X-rays which showed subluxation in 40.6%, dislocation in 54.7%, disorganized foot joints in 42.2%, bone resorption in 23.4%, osteomyelitis in 14.1%, fractures in 50%, joint collapse in 39.1% and destruction of articular surfaces in 37.5%. Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices Regarding Diabetic Eye Disease among General Population in Medina City, Saudi Arabia

Background: Diabetic eye disease is known as a group of eye problems that diabetic patients may develop as a complication of diabetes and can lead to blindness. They may include Diabetic retinopathy (DR), Cataracts, and Glaucoma. Objectives: This study aims to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP) around diabetic eye disease in the general population including patients with DM and non-diabetic people in Medina City, Saudi Arabia. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study involving 385 participants via a self-administered online Questionnaire started in January 2023 in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Results: In total, 339 participants with ages ranged from 18 to more than 60 years with a mean age of 26.8 ± 12.6 years old completed the questionnaire. The majority were females (74.6%), singles (67.8%), and had a university level of education (54.6%). Most of the study participants were found to have poor knowledge levels (67%) in comparison to 33% who had an overall good knowledge of diabetic eye diseases. Knowledge level was found to be higher among old-aged participants and those with a family history of DM (P = 0.001, P = 0.049) respectively. Regarding participants’ attitudes and practices, the study showed good attitudes toward eye care practice for diabetics with half of the participants (50%) reporting self-awareness as a reason that made them undergo the first eye screening. Conclusion: Participants in the present study have poor knowledge and awareness level of diabetic eye disease. Furthermore, positive attitudes and perceptions have been revealed by the participants toward the practice of providing eye care for diabetics. .

Background The aim of this review was to summarize and identify the variations in the effectiveness of psychological interventions on adherence,metabolic control,and coping with stress in adolescents with type 1 diabetes(T1D).Methods An electronic search of literature was performed using PubMed(NLM),Embase(Ovid),CINAHL Plus(EBSCO-host),PsycINFO(Ovid),and Google *** search was limited to include articles reported the effect of one of the psychological interventions:cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT),coping skills training(CST),stress management,or psychotherapy *** report included peer-reviewed articles published in English from January 1990 until May 2019in adolescents with T1D,and summarizes the results of 24 studies that met the inclusion *** Psychological interventions showed differential effects on adherence,metabolic control,and coping with stress in adolescents with *** interventions using principles of CBT appear to have a superior positive effect on regimen adherence compared with other types of psychological *** contrast,metabolic control was significantly improved with the implementation of CST and some forms of *** management and psychotherapy interventions showed significant promises for adolescents to cope with their diabetes-related daily *** However,the findings may add some promises to diabetes management in adolescents,additional research to understand the effect of these interventions is needed.
