The recovery of metals from a multi-component alloy obtained by crushing, melting and anodic dissolution of waste from electric and electronic equipment（Weee） was investigated. The anodic dissolution of the alloy was carried out in an electrolysis cell with one copper cathode and a central cast anode, immersed in the electrolyte formed by choline chloride-ethylene glycol-iodine. The temperature of the electrolyte during the process was 343 K. Depending on the electrolysis parameters（current density and cell voltage）, cathodic deposits of Sn, Pb and Zn of 〉99% purity were obtained. Cyclic voltammetry was used in order to determine the deposition potentials of the studied metals. The obtained metallic deposits were subject of determination of XRD, SeM/eDX and AFM in order to evidence the deposits structure and morphology. The experiments performed demonstrated the possibility of separating/selective recovery of metals from the multi-component alloy resulted from the waste from electrical and electronic equipment by anodic dissolution in ionic liquids.

The electroplating of Zn–Ni–P thin film alloys from a sulfate bath containing phosphoric and phosphorous acid was investigated. The bath composition and the deposition parameters were optimized through Hull cell experiments, and the optimum experimental conditions were determined（p H = 2, temperature = 298–313 K, zinc sulfate concentration =30 g·L^-1, eDTA concentration = 15 g·L^-1, and current density = 1.0–2.0 A·dm^-2）. The SeM analysis of the coating deposited from the optimum bath revealed fine-grained deposits of the alloy in the presence of eDTA. Optical microscopy analysis indicated an electrodeposited thin film with uniform thickness and good adhesion to the steel substrate. The good adherence of the coatings was also demonstrated by the scratch tests that were performed, with a maximum determined value of 25 N for the critical load. Corrosion resistance tests revealed good protection of the steel substrate by the obtained Zn–Ni–P coatings, with values up to 85.89% for samples with Ni contents higher than 76%. The surface analysis of the thin film samples before and after corrosion was performed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）.

Purpose: People with disabilities represent a major objective, a global public health issue. This disadvantaged category needs protection and integration into society by implementing an improved legislative framework. The effectiveness of the policy making, consolidating the benefit programs and enhancing equity of the social insurance system represent the key of The Governments strategy. Methods: The paper highlights comparable data and research related to disability and social insurance system from Romania and other Member States of the european Union. Internationally, a proper measurement of disability may lead to a successful removal of barriers which increase the vulnerability of people with disability. Results: According to official data, in Romania the number of disabled people decreased gradually one year to another (in the last 5 years). In the eU Member States, musculoskeletal disorders leading to disability were one of the most common compared to Romania where it ranked last. From the point of view of the share in the total number of people with disabilities, according to the degree of disability, both in the eU Member States and in Romania, the number of moderately disabled people was double, respectively triple compared to the number of those with severe disability. Conclusion: The Romania Government promotes social-professional integration of people with disabilities, being responsible for the guidance, vocational counselling and employment. In accordance with our law, “any person with disabilities, fit and included in the labor market in Romania is entitled to a reasonable accommodation of the workplace.”

Microarray analysis of gene expression in the liver of transgenic mouse model of HCV infection

Background: The molecular interactions of hepatitis C virus (HCV) with hepatic tissue have yet to be completely elucidated and understood. The purpose of this study was to compare differential gene expression patterns in the livers of non-transgenic and transgenic mouse model expressing HCV structural proteins Core, envelope 1 (e1) and envelope 2 (e2) using complementary DNA (cDNA) microarrays. Results: Total RNA extracted from the livers of HCV transgenic and non-transgenic mice was analyzed with cDNA microarray and differentially expressed genes confirmed by real-time RT-PCR. Relative expression ratios of individual genes were determined by comparing hybridization of Cy5-labelled cDNA from transgenic mouse livers and Cy3-labelled cDNA from non-transgenic mouse livers. The spot array images were quantified using QuantArray software and the outlier spots was normalized and filtered using five different criteria. 15,297 genes were analyzed using three different analytical methods. Depending on these methods, twenty-one genes were found to be differentially expressed at a statistically significant level. From these, 6 genes had a consistent differential expression. Several genes were directly involved in lipid metabolism and lipid β-oxidation. 5-azacytidine induced gene 2 (AZ2), which is involved in the methylation of genes was down regulated in HCV transgenic mice. Altered transcript levels of these 6 genes were confirmed by real-time RT-PCR analysis. Conclusion: Interactions between HCV and hepatocytes not only involve lipid metabolism and redox balance, but this interaction may also influence DNA methylation, indicating a potential association with the development of hepatocellular carcinoma.
