Hepatitis B virus(HBV) infection has shown an intermediate or high endemicity level in low-income countries over the last five decades. In recent years, however, the incidence of acute hepatitis B and the prevalence of hepatitis B surface antigen chronic carriers have decreased in several countries because of the HBV universal vaccination programs started in the nineties. Some countries, however, are still unable to implement these programs, particularly in their hyperendemic rural areas. The diffusion of HBV infection is still wide in several low-income countries where the prevention, management and treatment of HBV infection are a heavy burden for the governments and healthcare authorities. Of note, the information on the HBV epidemiology is scanty in numerous eastern European and Latin-American countries. The studies on molecular epidemiology performed in some countries provide an important contribution for a more comprehensive knowledge of HBV epidemiology, and phylogenetic studies provide information on the impact of recent and older migratory flows.

The hepatitis C virus(HCV)causes an acute infection that is frequently asymptomatic,but a spontaneous eradication of HCV infection occurs only in one-third of *** remaining two-thirds develop a chronic infection that,in most cases,shows an indolent course and a slow progression to the more advanced stagesof the *** a quarter of cases with chronic hepatitis C(CHC)develop liver cirrhosis with or without hepatocellular *** indolent course of the illness may be troubled by the occurrence of a hepatic flare,i.e.,a spontaneous acute exacerbation of CHC due to changes in the immune response,immunosuppression and subsequent restoration,and is characterized by an increase in serum aminotransferase values,a frequent deterioration in liver fibrosis and necroinflammation but also a high frequency of sustained viral response to pegylated interferon plus ribavirin treatment.A substantial increase in serum aminotransferase values during the clinical course of CHC may also be a consequence of a superinfection by other hepatotropic viruses,namely hepatitis B virus(HBV),HBV plus hepatitis D virus,hepatitis E virus,cytomegalovirus,particularly in geographical areas with high endemicity *** etiology of a hepatic flare in patients with CHC should always be defined to optimize follow-up procedures and clinical and therapeutic decisions.

The spread of hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection has gradually decreased in Italy in the last 5 decades as shown by the steady reduction in the incidence rates of acute hepatitis B,from 10/100000 inhabitants in1984 to 0.85/100000 in 2012,and by the reduced prevalence of hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)-positive cases among chronic hepatitis patients with different etiologies,from 60%in 1975 to about 10%in *** prevalence of HBsAg chronic carriers in the general population also decreased from nearly 3%in the 1980s to 1%in *** to HBV by its characteristics of defective virus,the hepatitis delta virus(HDV)has shown a similar epidemiological impact on the Italian population over *** incidence of acute HDV infection decreased from 3.2/100000 inhabitants in 1987 to 0.8/100000 in 2010 and the prevalence of HDV infection in HBsAg chronic carriers decreased from24%in 1990 to 8.5%in *** the beneficial effects of HBV mass vaccination introduced in 1991,the decreased endemicity of HBV and HDV infection in Italy paralleled the improvement in screening blood donations,the higher standard of living and impressive reduction in the birth rate associated with a marked reduction in the family size.A further contribution to the decline in HBV and HDV infections most probably came from the media campaigns to prevent the spread of human immunodeficiency virus infection by focusing the attention of the general population on the same routes of transmission of viral infections such as unsafe sexual intercourse and parenteral exposures of different kinds.

Mounting evidence is highlighting the role of the ETS factor SPDEF asa prostate tumor suppressor. In a recent paper by Pal et al., SPDEF was found to transcriptionally control the expression of ECadherin, an adhesion molecule with a crucial role in preventing metastatic spread. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in men. Thanks to the advent of prostatespecific antigen testing in the 1980s, many patients now present with the earliest and most curable form of the disease. Despite this fact, a nonnegligible fraction of them experiences metastatic recurrence, which is ultimately responsible for patients＇ death. The recent approval of new agents including abiraterone acetate, cabazitaxel, sipuleucdT and denosumab has significantly enriched the therapeutic opportunities for advanced prostate cancer.1 However, in order to improve future drug development and patient management, a deeper elucidation of the mechanisms of metastasis formation is of utmost importance, and surrogate bio markers able to distinguish aggressive from indolent cancers are urgently needed. The prostatederived ETS factor SPDEF （alias PDEF or hPSE） is the latest discovered member of the ETS family, a large family of 27 transcription factors sharing a conserved DNAbinding domain and involved in nor mal and pathological processes by activation or repression of a multitude of target genes.2 ETS family members have major roles in tumorigenesis, especially in prostate cancer where some of them like ERG, ETV1 and ETV4 are involved in recurrent chromosomal translocations with the prostatespecific, androgenresponsive protease TMPRSS2.3 Originally described as a prostate specific mRNA transcript, SPDEF expression is actually highly restricted to epithelial cells and has been found also in breast, colon, ovary, gas tric, and airway epithelium. 研究了水泥与减水剂的相容性。采用萘系(naphthalene,NSF)和聚羧酸(polycarboxylate-based,PCE)系两类高效减水剂,5批次的6种广泛分布于意大利不同区域的水泥为原料。通过改变高效减水剂的掺入量使拌和后的砂浆和混凝土具有恒定的工作性;通过测定拌合后1h内的流动度保持度以表征每种减水剂的工作性经时损失。还测定了砂浆和混凝土1,7d和28d的抗压强度。结果表明:与萘系高效减水剂相比,聚羧酸高效减水剂的减水效果和流动度保持性较好;萘系高效减水剂的作用几乎与水泥的品种及批次无关。混凝土的流变性能和力学性能与其砂浆的测试结果一致。
