Intensive farming is a primary cause of increased sediment and associated nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)loads in surface water *** their contributing sources,pathways and loads present major challenges in the high-intensity agricultural ***,we quantify the sediment sources and magnitude of sediment total N and total P from different sources using a novel application of compound-specific stable isotope(CSSI)and fallout radionuclides(FRNs)of^(137)cs and^(210)pbex in an intensive agricultural catchment in North *** sources from surface and sub-surface soils were estimated from FRNs fingerprint and accounted for 62±7%and 38±7%respectively,while surface soil from land uses that originated from hillslope were identified by CssI *** a novel application of FRNs and CSSI sediment fingerprinting techniques,the dominant sediment source was derived from maize farmland(44±0.1%),followed by channel bank(38±7%).The sedimentation rate(13.55±0.30 t ha^(-1)yr^(-1))was quantifed by the^(137)cs cores(0-60 cm)at the outlet of this *** total N and total P in sediment were both mostly derived from maize farmland and least from channel *** channel banks are significant sediment sources but contribute little to the input of sediment N and P for *** implies that chemically-applied farmlands are the main hotspots for catchment erosion control and pollution *** novel application of FRNs and CSSI techniques cost-effectively quantified sediment N and P loads from different sources with a single visit to the catchment,enabling rapid assessment for optimizing soil conservation strategies and land management practices.

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) has recently evolved through technological improvement of equipment,with a major clinical impact in digestive and mediastinal ***-of-the-art EUS equipment now includes real-time sono-elastography,which might be useful for a better characterization of lesions and increased accuracy of differential diagnosis (for *** nodes or focal pancreatic lesions).Contrast-enhanced EUS imaging is also available,and is already being used for the differential diagnosis of focal pancreatic *** recent development of low mechanical index contrast harmonic EUS imaging offers hope for improved diagnosis,staging and monitoring of anti-angiogenic *** EUS (3D-EUS) techniques can be applied to enhance the spatial understanding of EUS anatomy,especially for improved staging of tumors,obtained through a better assessment of the relationship with major surrounding *** the progress gained through all these imaging techniques,they cannot replace cytological or histological ***,real-time optical histological diagnosis can be achieved through the use of single-fiber confocal laser endomicroscopy techniques placed under real-time EUS-guidance through a 22G ***,but not least,EUS-assisted natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) procedures offer a whole new area of imaging applications,used either for combination of NOTES peritoneoscopy and intraperitoneal EUS,but also for access of retroperitoneal organs through posterior EUS guidance.

Tests of discrete symmetry violation have played an important role in understanding the structure of weak interactions in the Standard Model of particle physics. Historically, these measurements have been extensively performed in experiments with large samples of K and B mesons. A high luminosity τ-charm facility presents physicists with the opportunity to comprehensively explore discrete symmetry violation and test the Standard Model using τ leptons, charm mesons, and charmed baryons. This paper discusses several possible measurements for a future T-charm factory.

Upper gastrointestinal haemorrhage (UGIH) remains a common medical emergency worldwide. It is increasingly recognised that early risk assessment is an important part of management, which helps direct appropriate patient care and the timing of endoscopy. Several risk scores have been developed, most of which include endoscopic findings, although a minority do not. These scores were developed to identify various end-points including mortality, rebleeding or clinical intervention in the form of transfusion, endoscopic therapy or surgery. Recent studies have reported accurate identification of a very low risk group on presentation, using scores which require simple clinical or laboratory parameters only. This group may not require admission, but could be managed with early out-patient endoscopy. This article aims to describe the existing pre- and post-endoscopy risk scores for UGIH and assess the published data comparing them in the prediction of outcome. Recent data assessing their use in clinical practice, in particular the early identification of low-risk patients, are also discussed.

During the last years the theory of compressive sensing has found significant utility in the digital holography realm. In this letter we summarize and extend our previous theoretical results which determine the relation between the number of Fresnel samples required on the object illumination type, illumination wavelength, imaging geometry and sensor＇s size and resolution.

An optical akinetic swept source （AKSS） at 1060nm, comprising a 5m length fiber ring cavity, a semiconductor optical amplifier （SOA） as gain medium, and a 98% reflective chirped fiber Bragg grating as a dispersive element, is described. Active mode-locking was achieved by directly modulating the current of the SOA with sinusoidal signal of frequency equal to 10 times and 20 times the cavity resonance frequency. In the static regime, linewidths as narrow as 60pm and a tuning bandwidth of 30nm were achieved, while a 2roW output power, without any optical booster, was measured dynamically at a sweep speed of 100kHz. The axial range of the AKSS was evaluated by scanning through the channeled spectrum of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer.

The concept of batch verifying multiple digital signatures is to find a method by which multiple digital signatures can be verified simultaneously in a lower time complexity than separately verifying all the signatures. In this article, we analyze the complexity of the batch verifying schemes defined by Li, Hwang and Chen in 2010, and propose a new batch verifying multiple digital signature scheme, in two variants： one for RSA - by completing the Harn＇s schema with an identifying illegal signatures algorithm, and the other adapted for a modified Elliptic Curve Digital Siggnature Algorithm protocol.
