Understanding controls on river planform changes can help to build predictive models for distributive fluvial systems,and then guide the oil and gas *** do this we have undertaken a detailed investigation of the modern Great Halten River distributive fluvial system from the Sugan Lake Basin,Qinghai,*** aerial vehicle(UAV) photography,satellite remote sensing data and elemental analysis were used to determine differences in the sedimentary characteristics of the distributive fluvial *** the apex to the toe,the changes in the slope,river morphology,sedimentary characteristics and element content in different regions were determined and three facies belts:“proximal”,“medial” and “distal” were *** found that the sedimentary structure and elemental content characteristics of each facies differ *** compare the large-scale evolution of rivers from braided to meandering rivers,and the fine description of sedimentary characteristics in combination with each observation,we strengthen our overall understanding of the modern DFS from macro to micro *** the same time,we summarize the sedimentation model of the Great Halten River DFS,and our study provides a reference for establishing the sedimentary model in continental petroliferous basins.

Background Post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)has considerable and persistent effects on survivors of war,particularly in postconflict ***,evidence on what keeps survivors on the path of PTSD remains *** The current study aimed to assess the prevalence and correlates of PTSD symptoms among the war-affected population in northern *** Data from 476 war-affected youths(aged 20–27 years)who had participated in a longitudinal cohort study were analysed to describe the enduring associations of background and postwar environmental risk factors with PTSD *** Impact of Event Scale-Revised was used to evaluate symptoms of *** statistics were used to compute background and postwar environmental *** logistic regression analyses were fitted to assess the magnitude of the effects of the correlates on PTSD *** Background and postwar environmental factors(eg,sexual abuse and injury in captivity)were significantly associated with PTSD *** environmental factors associated with PTSD symptoms included postwar hardships,stigma/discrimination,chronic illness,community relations,family acceptance and general functioning,among *** odds ratios(ORs)for postwar hardships were 2.41(95%confidence interval(CI):1.63 to 3.56)and 2.90(95%CI:2.03 to 4.14)for high and severe PTSD,*** stigma/discrimination,compared with higher scores,the ORs were 3.38(95%CI:2.22 to 5.17)and 4.12(95%CI:2.69 to 6.30)for high and severe PTSD symptoms,*** Background and postwar environmental stressors exacerbate the severity of PTSD symptoms in survivors of war and should form the basis for interventions to alleviate the toxic effects of war on survivors.

Polymeric biomaterials such as polylactic acid(PLA)play a prominent role in the advancement of biomedical additive manufacturing(AM).PLA offers indeed a very advantageous combination of thermomechanical properties and functional attributes,as it is biobased,biodegradable,biocompatible and easy to ***,PLA can be damaged by common sterilization methods and is sensitive to most chemical disinfectants,and this may impair its widespread *** of the most promising ways to overcome this shortcoming is to provide PLA with embedded antibacterial activity by the addition of appropriate fillers such as zinc oxide(Zn O)*** a detailed introduction to the basic properties of PLA and ZnO nanoparticles,the present review analyzes the main variables that govern the antibacterial activity of PLA-ZnO *** applications and related manufacturing processes are also presented to showcase the importance of having embedded antibacterial functions in demanding applications such as food packaging and wound *** is then placed on the emerging literature of the AM of PLA-ZnO nanocomposites,with a focus on fused filament fabrication(also known as fused deposition modeling).Existing gaps and hurdles related to the development and 3D printing of such composites is critically *** is envisioned that a deeper understanding of the processability,thermo-mechanical behavior,biocompatibility and antibacterial efficacy of additively manufactured PLAZnO nanocomposites will foster their adoption in the biomedical field and,ultimately,in all circumstances where it is crucial to limit infection transmission.

The aim of the study was to examine some overlooked individual difference (demography, ideology, ability) correlates of attitudes to being vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine. Six hundred and sixteen adults were asked about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. The relationship between demographic (age, sex, education), ideology (political and religious beliefs), intelligence (cognitive ability) and attitudes to vaccination (acceptance, hesitancy, rejection) was examined. Correlations and regressions indicated that vaccine hesitancy and rejection were associated primarily with intelligence and political beliefs as well as mental illness history, as well as religious beliefs. Effect sizes were however small. Limitations are acknowledged.

Coping with Covid

Aim and Objective: What determines how people coped with the challenges of adapting to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions and requirements? In four studies, conducted in 2021, groups of European adults (N>1800) noted how they had personally coped with Covid-19. Method: In each study, participants reported on their age, sex and education, their political and religious beliefs, as well as giving self-ratings and completing a number of standard tests on such things as their personality, intelligence and belief in conspiracy theories. Results: In the first study, sex, self-esteem, optimism and intelligence were significant predictors of self-assessed coping. In the second study, only optimism and emotional stability were significant predictors. In the third study, sex, optimism, self-esteem and ratings of change were related to coping. In the fourth study, self-esteem was the only significant predictor. Discussion: The results suggest that optimistic, better adjusted people, with higher self-esteem claim to be better copers. Age, education as well as political and religious beliefs and many personality measures were not related to self-reported coping with Covid-19. Implications for targeting those who require most help were discussed, and limitations were acknowledged.

Buildings represent a large part in terms of fossil energy consumption,which depends on the great need for *** if the solar absorption heat storage system is possible,the performance of this system is affected by the cycle limits and the climatic *** goal of the present study is to control the thermal performance of the system cycle according to the imposed climatic conditions of Bucharest city,Romania,and therefore a numerical model was developed for this *** scheme and the thermodynamic cycle,the energy and mass balance equations,and the computational algorithm were *** results show that the cycle temperature increases at the end of desorption when the heating power supplied to the desorber is increased,which is also proportional to the drop in temperature at the beginning of the *** temperature at the end of absorption and the mass flow rates of the solution have a significant effect on the thermal power released from the absorber and used to heat the *** an average daily heat power of 1.35 kW/m^(2) and 10 hours per day of heating the building,the system with a solar collector area of 3 m^(2) has the capacity of heat supply for all the cold ***,an economic strategy remains necessary.
