Smart manufacturing refers to optimization techniques that are implemented in production operations by utilizing advanced analytics approaches. With the widespread increase in deploying industrial internet of things(IIOT) sensors in manufacturing processes, there is a progressive need for optimal and effective approaches to data *** machine learning and artificial intelligence to take advantage of manufacturing data can lead to efficient and intelligent automation. In this paper, we conduct a comprehensive analysis based on evolutionary computing and neural network algorithms toward making semiconductor manufacturing *** propose a dynamic algorithm for gaining useful insights about semiconductor manufacturing processes and to address various challenges. We elaborate on the utilization of a genetic algorithm and neural network to propose an intelligent feature selection algorithm. Our objective is to provide an advanced solution for controlling manufacturing processes and to gain perspective on various dimensions that enable manufacturers to access effective predictive technologies.

Random checkerboard based homogenization for estimating effective thermal conductivity of fully saturated soils

This paper proposes homogenization scheme for estimating the effective thermal conductivity of fully saturated soils. This approach is based on the random checkerboard-like microstructure. Two modeling scales and two modeling approaches are distinguished and used, i.e. microscale and mesoscale and 1-step and 2-step homogenizations, respectively. The 2-step homogenization involves sequential averaging procedure, i.e. first, at microscale, a mineralogical composition of soil skeleton is considered and averaging process results in estimation of the skeleton effective thermal conductivity, and then, at mesoscale, a random spatial packing of solid skeleton and pores via random checkerboard microstructure is modeled and leads to evaluation of the soil overall thermal conductivity. The 1-step homogenization starts directly at the mesoscale and homogenization procedure yields evaluation of the overall soil thermal conductivity. At the mesoscale, the distinct nature of soil skeleton, as composed of soil separates,is considered and random variability of soil is modeled via enriched random checkerboard-like *** approaches, i.e. 1-step and 2-step homogenizations, interrelate mineralogical composition with the soil texture characterized by the volume fractions of soil separates, i.e. sand, silt and clay. The probability density functions(PDFs) of thermal conductivity are assumed for each of the separates. The soil texture PDF of thermal conductivity is derived taking into consideration the aforementioned functions. Whenever the random checkerboard-like structure is used in averaging process, the Monte Carlo procedure is applied for estimation of homogenized thermal conductivity. Finally, the proposed methodology is tested against the laboratory data from our measurements as well as those available from literature.

There is now growing evidence that membrane vesicle trafficking proteins, especially of the superfamily of SNAREs, are critical for cellular signalling in plants. Work from this laboratory first demonstrated that a soluble, inhibitory （dominant-negative） fragment of the SNARE NtSyp121 blocked K^＋ and CI^- channel responses to the stress-related hormone abscisic acid （ABA）, but left open a question about functional impacts on signal intermediates, especially on Ca^2＋-mediated signalling events. Here, we report one mode of action for the SNARE mediated directly through alterations in Ca^2＋ channel gating and its consequent effects on cytosolic-free [Ca^2＋] （[Ca^2＋]i） elevation. We find that expressing the same inhibitory fragment of NtSyp121 blocks ABA-evoked stomatal closure, but only partially suppresses stomatal closure in the presence of the NO donor, SNAP, which promotes [Ca^2＋]i elevation independently of the plasma membrane Ca^2＋ channels. Consistent with these observations, Ca^2＋ channel gating at the plasma membrane is altered by the SNARE fragment in a manner effective in reducing the potential for triggering a rise in [Ca^2＋]i, and we show directly that its expression in vivo leads to a pronounced suppression of evoked [Ca^2＋]i transients. These observations offer primary evidence for the functional coupling of the SNARE with Ca^2＋ channels at the plant cell plasma membrane and, because [Ca^2＋]i plays a key role in the control of K^＋ and CI^- channel currents in guard cells, they underscore an important mechanism for SNARE integration with ion channel regulation during stomatal closure.

The electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide offers a sound and economically viable technology for the electrification and decarbonization of the chemical and fuel *** this technology,an electrocatalytic material and renewable energy-generated electricity drive the conversion of carbon dioxide into high-value chemicals and carbon-neutral *** the past few years,single-atom catalysts have been intensively studied as they could provide near-unity atom utilization and unique catalytic ***-atom catalysts have become one of the state-of-the-art catalyst materials for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide into carbon ***,it remains a challenge for single-atom catalysts to facilitate the efficient conversion of carbon dioxide into products beyond carbon *** this review,we summarize and present important findings and critical insights from studies on the electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction into hydrocarbons and oxygenates using single-atom *** is hoped that this review gives a thorough recapitulation and analysis of the science behind the catalysis of carbon dioxide into more reduced products through singleatom catalysts so that it can be a guide for future research and development on catalysts with industry-ready performance for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide into high-value chemicals and carbon-neutral fuels.

Dear editor,We read with interest the commentary by Mark Tremblay and colleagues,1 which outlines the new 24-Hour Canadian sedentary behavior *** guidelines take the perspective of a continuum across the 24-h day,providing a vehicle for discussing physically active time,sitting and other sedentary time,as well as healthy sleep *** commentary 1 focuses on the sedentary behavior(SB)recommendations in these guidelines:(1)limiting sedentary time to8 h per day,(2)limiting recreational screen time to3 h,and(3)breaking up long periods of sitting as often as possible throughout the *** for this perspective was evidenced by a survey of a sample(n=126,6% of total)of Sedentary Behavior Research Network(SBRN)members2 indicating broad acceptance of these SB recommendations.1 In this response,we put this survey in context and discuss the evidence base underpinning these 3 Canadian sedentary-behavior recommendations.

A new complex C（18）H（24）CoF6N（12）Si has been synthesized by the reaction of cobalt（II） fluoride tetrahydrate with imidazole in a glass vessel. SiF62-was generated by in situ reaction of fluoride on silica. This complex has been characterized by different techniques such as elemental analysis, IR studies, magnetic measurements, electronic absorption measurements and single-crystal X-ray structure determination. The crystals are hexagonal in the R-3 space group, with a = 13.225（6）, b = 13.225（6）, c = 12.517（11） A, and g = 120°. In complex [Co（im）6]SiF6, the cobalt atom is six-coordinated to adopt a regular octahedral geometry and the SiF62-ion acts as the counter anion. The crystal displays a network structure and SiF62- bridging hexagram formation by N-（39）···F-Si interactions between imdazole and SiF62-. SiF62-plays an important role in assembling the supramolecular aggregates.

Fabrication and Characterizations of Metallic Mg Containing PMMA-Based Partially Degradable Composite Bone Cements

Inadequate strength at the bone/cement interface is one of the main drawbacks of poly(methylmethacrylate)(PMMA) bone cement in the current orthopedic surgeries. In the present work, a partially degradable PMMA/Mg composite bone cement (PMC) was developed for enhancing the bone/cement interfacial strength, which is proposed to be accomplished by increasing the osteo-conductivity of PMMA and enhancing the mechanical interlocking between bone tissue and the porous PMMA surface formed by the degradation of Mg on the surface of the cement. PMCs were prepared with various concentrations of Mg particles with different sizes and alloy compositions. The effects of Mg particle size, composition and content on the injectability, mechanical and degradation properties, and biocompatibility of PMCs were evaluated. The results show that these parameters affected the properties of the PMCs simultaneously. The good injectability and compressive strengths of PMMA were preserved, while the compatibility to osteoblasts was enhanced when adding Mg particles in a proper manner. The PMCs degraded at the surface with time and formed porous surface structures in the physiological environment, while maintaining the original compressive strengths. This preliminary study shows that the PMC is promising for minimally invasive orthopedic surgery;however, it still requires to be optimized and evaluated in the future.
