Unmet needs exist in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD)risk *** ability to identify patients with MASLD with advanced fibrosis and at higher risk for adverse outcomes is still *** novel biomarkers could represent a meaningful improvement to current risk *** this aim,omics technologies have revolutionized the process of MASLD biomarker discovery over the past *** the research in this field is thriving,much of the publication has been haphazard,often using single-omics data and specimen sets of convenience,with many identified candidate biomarkers but lacking clinical validation and *** we incorporate these biomarkers to direct patients’management,it should be considered that the roadmap for translating a newly discovered omics-based signature to an actual,analytically valid test useful in MASLD clinical practice is rigorous and,therefore,not easily *** article presents an overview of this area’s current state,the conceivable opportunities and challenges of omics-based laboratory diagnostics,and a roadmap for improving MASLD biomarker research.

In this paper, we apply the method of directly defining the inverse mapping introduced by Liao and Zhao [On the method of directly defining inverse mapping for nonlinear differential equations, numer. Algorithms 72（4）（2016） 989-1020] to the problem of prostate cancer immunotherapy. We extend this method in two directions： first, we apply the method to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equation, and second, we propose a new technique for finding the base functions in the considered algorithm.

Microbial electrosynthesis(MES) can potentially provide a mean for storing renewable energy surpluses as chemical energy. However, the fluctuating nature of these energy sources may represent a threat to MES, as the microbial communities that develop on the biocathode rely on the continuous existence of a polarized electrode. This work assesses how MES performance, product generation and microbial community evolution are affected by a long-period(6 weeks) power off(open circuit). Acetogenic and H2-producing bacteria activity recovered after reconnection. However, few days later syntrophic acetate oxidation bacteria and H2-consuming methanogens became dominant, producing CH4 as the main product, via electromethanogenesis and the syntrophic interaction between eubacterial and archaeal communities which consume both the acetic acid and the hydrogen present in the cathode environment. Thus,the system proved to be resilient to a long-term power interruption in terms of electroactivity. At the same time, these results demonstrated that the system could be extensively affected in both end product generation and microbial communities.

Aims Harsh environmental conditions in alpine ecosystems shape vegetation structure into patches,where many different plant species cluster and grow ***,which factors are important for the structure and dynamics of such plant–patch networks remains poorly *** aim to assess which and how environmental and biotic factors predict the assembly of plant–patch networks along a mountain *** We examined the distribution of plant species in more than 5500 vegetation patches in 37 Mediterranean alpine grasslands distributed along a 500 m altitudinal gradient(national Park of Sierra Guadarrama,Spain).We established a plant–patch network for each grassland community and analyzed how nestedness and modularity vary with environmental(altitude,insolation and soil conditions)and biotic factors(number of species per plot,mean patch area and total pasture area).Important Findings Plant–patch networks showed consistent,non-random patterns characterized by a nested,but not modular,structure,which suggests that positive associations among co-occurring specialists promote their growth within patches as subsets of a pool with more generalist *** nestedness and modularity of plant–patch networks varied among ***,nestedness decreased with increasing species per plot and increased with mean patch area,while it was independent of environmental variables;modularity increased with increasing pasture area and species per *** negative relationship between species per plot and nested patterns may be linked to the restricted number of species that can coexist within the same patch at a given ***,the positive relationship between patch size and nestedness indicates that the growth of rare plant species within vegetation patches occupied by more abundant species is facilitated in bigger rather than smaller ***,these results indicate that the nested assembly of vegetation patches may be independent of abiotic cond
