implementation of wireless technologies based on the vehicular ad hoc sensor network （VASNET） may provide support for the search and rescue （SAR） team to operate effectively in natural disaster events, such as landslide, earthquake, flooding, and tsunami. The operations of SAR team are very challenging in such events due to the possible damages of the existing telecommunication infrastructures. The existing deployment of the cellular communications infrastructure may be partially or completely destroyed after the occurrence of these natural disasters. Thus, the current VASNET infrastructure must be able to support the infrastructure-less network by integrating other green wireless technologies that can benefit the SAR team, which can indirectly save more human lives and reduce the number of casualties. Therefore, the integration of green Internet of things （loT） and VASNET is proposed to form a heterogeneous framework for data dissemination in SAR operations. In addition, this paper also discusses the existing lot framework in disaster scenarios with future research direction for IoT using on any aspect, especially related to the natural disaster scenarios.

Education sector has witnessed several changes in the recent *** changes have forced private universities into fierce competition with each other to get more students *** competition has resulted in the adoption of marketing practices by private universities similar to commercial *** get competitive gain,universities must observe and examine the students’feedback on their own social media sites along with the social media sites of their *** study presents a novel framework which integrates numerous analytical approaches including statistical analysis,sentiment analysis,and text mining to accomplish a competitive analysis of social media sites of the *** techniques enable local universities to utilize social media for the identification of the most-discussed topics by students as well as based on the most unfavorable comments received,major areas for improvement.A comprehensive case study was conducted utilizing the proposed framework for competitive analysis of few top ranked international universities as well as local private universities in Lahore *** results show that diversity of shared content,frequency of posts,and schedule of updates,are the key areas for improvement for the local *** on the competitive intelligence gained several recommendations are included in this paper that would enable local universities generally and Riphah international university(RIU)Lahore specifically to promote their brand and increase their attractiveness for potential students using social media and launch successful marketing campaigns targeting a large number of audiences at significantly reduced cost resulting in an increased number of enrolments.

Recent years have witnessed the expeditious evolution of intelligentsmart devices and autonomous software technologies with the expandeddomains of computing from workplaces to smart computing in everydayroutine life activities. This trend has been rapidly advancing towards the newgeneration of systems where smart devices play vital roles in acting intelligently on behalf of the users. Context-awareness has emerged from the pervasive computing paradigm. Context-aware systems have the ability to acquirecontextual information from the surrounding environment autonomously,perform reasoning on it, and then adapt their behaviors accordingly. With theproliferation of context-aware systems and smart sensors, real-time monitoring of environmental situations (context) has become quite trivial. However,it is often challenging because the imperfect nature of context can cause theinconsistent behavior of the system. In this paper, we propose a contextaware intelligent decision support formalism to assist cognitively impairedpeople in managing their routine life activities. For this, we present a semanticknowledge-based framework to contextualize the information from the environment using the protégé ontology editor and Semantic Web Rule Language(SWRL) rules. The set of contextualized information and the set of rulesacquired from the ontology can be used to model Context-aware Multi-AgentSystems (CMAS) in order to autonomously plan all activities of the users andnotify users to act accordingly. To illustrate the use of the proposed formalism,we model a case study of Mild Cognitive Impaired (MCI) patients usingColored Petri Nets (CPN) to show the reasoning process on how the contextaware agents collaboratively plan activities on the user’s behalf and validatethe correctness properties of the system.

The main objective of this study was to determine the desiccation behavior of clay slurries. A clay slurry with high water adsorption capacity(W_L = 180%,W_P 60%,W_s = 20) was used to determine the soil water characteristic curve(SWCC), shrinkage curve, and hydraulic conductivity. The last parameter was determined similar to the Instantaneous Profile Method using evaporation tests. Results indicated that the clay slurry had an air entry value(AEV) of 1000 kPa and a residual suction of 5000 kPa that occurred at the plastic limit and the shrinkage limit, respectively. The discrepancy between theoretical and measured shrinkage limit was due to the gradual increase in clay particle contact. Unlike soils, the saturated hydraulic conductivity varied by two orders of magnitude(4×10 ~10 m/s at 20 kPa to 3 x 10 ~12 m/s at AEV). The unsaturated k further decreased to 10 ~14 m/s at 6 x 10~4 kPa beyond which vapor flow took place.

A framework is proposed to understand coupled consolidation-desiccation in clay slurries using effective stress and soil suction as state variables. Constitutive surfaces were derived from best-fit equations for reference curves where one state variable was kept at 1 kPa and the other was varied up to 10~6 *** indicated that volume compressibility comprises of apparent pre-consolidation up to 100 kPa beyond which a single best-fit curve is valid. Similarly, the theoretical virgin compression line(specific gravity dependant), indicated that both state variables have the same effect up to the air entry value(1000 kPa at a void ratio of 1.8) beyond which void ratio reduces more readily under effective stress than under soil suction. Likewise, hydraulic conductivity remained saturated up to the air entry value and varied from 10^(-9)m/s to 10^(-12)m/s. Finally, the unsaturated hydraulic conductivity correlated well with empirical relationship up to 10^(-14) m/s bevond which vapor flow became dominant.

Bacterial strain RV9 recovered from greengram nodules tolerated 2400 μg/mL of hexaconazole and was identified by 16 S rDNA sequence analysis as Bradyrhizobium japonicum(KY940048). Strain RV9 produced IAA(61.6 μg/mL), ACC deaminase(51.7 mg/(protein·hr)), solubilized TCP(105 μg/mL), secreted 337.6 μg/mL EPS, and produced SA(52.2 μg/mL) and 2,3-DHBA(28.3 μg/mL). Exopolysaccharides produced by strain RV9 was quantified and characterized by SEM, AFM, EDX and FTIR. Beyond tolerance limit,hexaconazole caused cellular impairment and reduced the viability of strain RV9 revealed by SEM and CLSM. Hexaconazole distorted the root tips and altered nodule structure leading thereby to reduction in the performance of greengram. Also, the level of antioxidant enzymes, proline, TBARS, ROS and cell death was increased in hexaconazole treated *** images revealed a concentration dependent increase in the characteristic green and blue fluorescence of hexaconazole treated roots. The application of B. japonicum strain RV9 alleviated the fungicide toxicity and improved the measured plant characteristics. Also,rhizobial cells were localized inside tissues as revealed by CLSM. Colonization of *** strain RV9 decreased the levels of CAT, POD, APX, GPX and TBARS by 80%, 5%,13%, 13% and 19%, respectively over plants grown at 80 μg/(hexaconazole·kg) soil. The ability to detoxify hexaconazole, colonize plant tissues, secrete PGP bioactive molecules even under fungicide pressure and its unique ability to diminish oxidative stress make *** an attractive choice for remediation of fungicide polluted soils and to concurrently enhance greengram production under stressed environment.

In the current era,automatic surveillance has become an active research problem due to its vast real-world applications,particularly for maintaining law and order.A continuous manual monitoring of human activities is a tedious *** use of cameras and automatic detection of unusual surveillance activity has been growing exponentially over the last few *** computer vision techniques have been applied for observation and surveillance of real-world *** research study focuses on detecting and recognizing unusual activities in an academic situation such as examinationhalls,which may help the invigilators observe and restrict the students from cheating or using *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first research work in this area that develops a dataset for unusual activities in the examination and proposes a deep learning model to detect those unusual *** proposed model has been named Automatic Unusual Activity Recognition(AUAR),which employsmotion-based frame extraction approaches to extract key-frames and then applies advanced deep learning Convolutional Neural Network algorithm with diverse *** evaluation using standard performancemeasures confirmthat theAUARmodel outperforms the already proposed approaches for unusual activity *** from evaluating the proposed model on the examination dataset,we also apply AUAR on Violent and Movies datasets,widely used in the relevant literature to detect suspicious *** results reveal that AUAR performs well on various data sets compared to existing state-of-the-art models.

The main objective of this study was to determine the consolidation behaviour of clay slurries.A finegrained clay with high consistency limits(W_L = 180%,w_P= 120%) was investigated using conventional oedometer and bench-top centrifuge *** indicated that the slurry had an apparent preconsolidation(due to initial conditions,electrochemical interactions,tortuous drainage,and thixotropic strength) from e = 5.7 to e = 5.5 followed by virgin ***,the low hydraulic conductivity(10^(-10)-10^(-12) m/s) was due to low porosity(small pore throats) and high tortuosity(long flow paths).Unlike consolidation of soils,the c_v and m_v decreased with increasing σ' but increased with increasing e and *** data from the two tests correlated well in the range of σ' = 10-65 kPa,e = 5.5-3.86,k= 1.7 × 10^(-10)-5×10^(-11) m/s,F_c = 1-40 *** equations were developed to correlate the consolidation parameters(e,σ',k) with F_*** deviation of k beyond 40 MN(e = 4.65) was due to deviation from the initial straight line portion of the settlement curve in the centrifuge test.
