An Efficient and Robust Hand Gesture Recognition System of Sign Language Employing Finetuned Inception-V3 and Efficientnet-B0 Network

Hand Gesture Recognition(HGR)is a promising research area with an extensive range of applications,such as surgery,video game techniques,and sign language translation,where sign language is a complicated structured form of hand *** fundamental building blocks of structured expressions in sign language are the arrangement of the fingers,the orientation of the hand,and the hand’s position concerning the *** importance of HGR has increased due to the increasing number of touchless applications and the rapid growth of the hearing-impaired ***,real-time HGR is one of the most effective interaction methods between computers and *** a user-free interface with good recognition performance should be the goal of real-time HGR ***,Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)shows great recognition rates for different image-level classification *** is challenging to train deep CNN networks like VGG-16,VGG-19,Inception-v3,and Efficientnet-B0 from scratch because only some significant labeled image datasets are available for static hand gesture ***,an efficient and robust hand gesture recognition system of sign language employing finetuned Inception-v3 and Efficientnet-Bo network is proposed to identify hand gestures using a comparative small HGR *** show that Inception-v3 achieved 90%accuracy and 0.93%precision,0.91%recall,and 0.90%f1-score,respectively,while EfficientNet-B0 achieved 99%accuracy and 0.98%,0.97%,0.98%,precision,recall,and f1-score respectively.

The aim of this work is to investigate anisotropic compact objects within the framework of f(G)modified theory of *** our present work,we utilize Krori-Barua metrics,i.e.,λ(r)=Xr^(2)+Y andβ(r)=Zr^(2).We use some matching conditions of spherically symmetric spacetime with Bardeen's model as an exterior ***,we establish some expressions of energy density and pressure components to analyze the stellar configuration of Bardeen compact stars by assuming viable f(G)*** examine the energy conditions for different stellar structures to verify the viability of our considered ***,we also investigate some other physical features,such as equilibrium condition,equation of state parameters,adiabatic index,stability analysis,mass function,surface redshift,and compactness factor,*** is worthwhile to mention here for the current study that our stellar structure in the background of Bardeen's model is more viable and stable.

Post-traumatic stress disorder and resilience among adult burn patients in Pakistan: a cross-sectional study

Background: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is one of the major psychological disorders developed after burn injuries, though this subject of burn injuries and their destructive chronic psychological impact are not considered as thoughtfully in developing countries like Pakistan. Hence, the current study investigated the relationship between PTSD symptoms and resilience among burn patients in Pakistan, exploring the variance occurrence of the two variables concerning male burn patients and female burn patients. Methods: Seventy burn patients from three burn units of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan, during January 2015 to September 2015 were recruited. Patients with psychiatric disorder which would restrict the study procedures were excluded from the study. PTSD symptoms of burn patients were measured by PTSD CheckList-Civilian Version (PCL-C) and resilience was measured by Connor-Davidson Resilience scale (CD-RISC). Spearman’s Rank-Order correlation was used to analyze the relationship between symptoms of PTSD and resilience in burn patients, and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was applied to analyze the gender difference in symptoms of PTSD and level of resilience. Results: Negative correlation between PTSD and resilience among burn patients was found (r=-0.72, p<0.001). Moreover, significant gender differences were observed on PTSD symptoms and resilience between male and female burn patients when demographic variables such as age, socioeconomic status, marital status, and educational background were controlled. Female burn patients showed more PTSD symptoms (η2=0.18, p< 0.001) and less resilience (η2=0.25, p< 0.001) when compared to male burn patients. Conclusions: PTSD and resilience were negatively correlated in burn patients. Female burn patients have more PTSD symptoms and lower resilience compared to male burn patients.

In comparison to onshore facilities,ships,and their machinery are subjected to challenging external influences such as rolling,vibration,and continually changing air&cooling water temperatures in the marine ***,these factors are typically neglected,or their consequences are deemed to have little effect on machinery,the environment,or human *** this study,seasonal air&seawater temperature effects on marine diesel engine performance parameters and emissions are investigated by using a full-mission engine room simulator.A tanker ship two-stroke main engine MAN B&W 6S50 MC-C with a power output of 8600 kW is employed during the simulation ***,due to its diverse risks,the Marmara Region is chosen as the application area for real-time average temperature *** on the research findings,even minor variations in seasonal temperatures have a significant influence on certain key parameters of a ship’s main engine including scavenge pressure,exhaust temperatures,compression and combustion pressures,fuel consumption,power,and NOx-SOx-COx *** instance,during the winter season,the cylinder compression pressure(pc)is recorded at 94 bar,while the maximum pressure(pz)reaches 110 *** the summer,pc experiences a decrease of 81 bar,while pz is measured at 101 *** emission of nitrogen oxides(NOx)exhibits a measurement of 784 parts per million(ppm)during winter and 744 in *** concentration of sulfur oxides(SOx)is recorded at 46 ppm in winter and 53 in *** the current state of global warming and climate change,it is an undeniable fact that the impact of these phenomena will inevitably escalate.

With the rapid development of cyberspace and smart home technology, human life is changing to a new virtual dimension with several promises for improving its quality. Moreover, the heterogeneous, dynamic, and internet-connected nature of smart homes brings many privacy and security difficulties. Unauthorized access to the smart home system is one of the most harmful actions and can cause several trust problems and relationship conflicts between family members and invoke home privacy issues. Access control is one of the best solutions for handling this threat, and it has been used to protect smart homes and other Internet of Things domains for many years. This survey reviews existing access control schemes for smart homes, which concern the essential authorization requirements and challenges that need to be considered while designing an authorization framework for smart homes. Furthermore, we note the most critical challenges that other access control solutions neglect for smart homes.

A survey on trust based detection and isolation of malicious nodes in ad-hoc and sensor networks

Mobile ad-hoc networks （MANETs） and wireless sensor networks （WSNs） have gained remarkable apprecia- tion and technological development over the last few years. Despite ease of deployment, tremendous applications and significant advantages, security has always been a challeng- ing issue due to the nature of environments in which nodes operate. Nodes＇ physical capture, malicious or selfish behav- ior cannot be detected by traditional security schemes. Trust and reputation based approaches have gained global recog- nition in providing additional means of security for decision making in sensor and ad-hoc networks. This paper provides an extensive literature review of trust and reputation based models both in sensor and ad-hoc networks. Based on the mechanism of trust establishment, we categorize the state- of-the-art into two groups namely node-centric trust mod- els and system-centric trust models. Based on trust evidence, initialization, computation, propagation and weight assign- ments, we evaluate the efficacy of the existing schemes. Fi- nally, we conclude our discussion with identification of some unresolved issues in pursuit of trust and reputation manage- ment.

Stochastic Computing Convolutional Neural Network Architecture Reinvented for Highly Efficient Artificial Intelligence Workload on Field-Programmable Gate Array

Stochastic computing(SC)has a substantial amount of study on application-specific integrated circuit(ASIC)design for artificial intelligence(AI)edge computing,especially the convolutional neural network(CNN)***,SC has little to no optimization on field-programmable gate array(FPGA).Scaling up the ASIC logic without FPGA-oriented designs is inefficient,while aggregating thousands of bitstreams is still challenging in the conventional *** research has reinvented several FPGA-efficient 8-bit SC CNN computing architectures,i.e.,SC multiplexer multiply-accumulate,multiply-accumulate function generator,and binary rectified linear unit,and successfully scaled and implemented a fully parallel CNN model on Kintex7 *** proposed SC hardware only compromises 0.14%accuracy compared to binary computing on the handwriting Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology classification task and achieved at least 99.72%energy saving per image feedforward and 31?more data throughput than modern *** to SC,early decision termination pushed the performance baseline exponentially with minimum accuracy loss,making SC CNN extremely lucrative for AI edge computing but limited to classification *** SC's inherent noise heavily penalizes CNN regression performance,rendering SC unsuitable for regression tasks.

Role of authentic leadership and personal mastery in predicting employee creative behavior:a self-determination perspective

Personality dispositions and their role in inducing employee creative behavior are well documented in the ***,much is unexplored about the collective and relative contribution of personality orientations and environmental factors in explaining creative *** study used a framework based on selfdetermination theory(SDT)to measure the combined and relative contribution of personal mastery orientation and authentic leadership in predicting employee creative behavior as mediated by autonomous motivation.A self-reported survey was conducted among software developers working in software *** results of the study show that both personal mastery and authentic leadership are significant predictors of employee creative *** addition,autonomous motivation significantly mediates the relationship between personal mastery,authentic leadership,and creative *** findings of the study lend support to the combined effect of personality orientation and environmental factors in predicting employee creative behavior and test the SDT framework’s efficacy in predicting creative behavior.

Investigation the Influence of Phase Change Material Amount on a Hot-Water Stratification in Charging ode

Among the various techniques for enhancing the storage and consumption of energy in a thermal energy storage system,the establishment of thermal stratification in a hot-water container is an effective *** current study aims to assess the performance of the thermal stratification for hot-water containers using(ANSYS Fluent)R.1.0,2022,through the study of the impact of different numbers of paraffin-filled containers,namely 3,5,and 7,that are equivalent to 5,7,and 9 kg of paraffin,*** validate the present numerical model,a comparison between the current study results and the experimental findings from the literature was conducted,and the results demonstrated that there was a good approval between these *** results of this study depict that the profile temperature at the outlet of the container indicates an enhancement in the Richardson number and stratification number by 37.9%and 45.8%,respectively,when the charging process is ***,increasing the number of paraffin-filled containers from 5 to 9 results in a 29.9%improvement in charging efficiency,resulting in an improvement in storage ***,the results have proven that the 3D CFD approach is a highly beneficial tool to assess the effect of PCM mass on stratification performance in a hot-water container.
