AIM: To investigate gastric antisecretory and gastro- protective activity of bovine hemoglobin (B-Hb) in rats. METHODS: Adult albino-Wistar rats were divided into groups of 6 animals each. B-Hb in doses of 100, 300 and 900 mg/kg body weight was tested for gastric acid secretion and antiulcer activity. Gastric secretions were measured 6 h after pylorus ligation in rats pretreated with B-Hb. The acidity was measured by titrating gastric contents against 0.01 mol/L NaOH to pH 7. Indomethacin ulcers were produced by oral administration of 30 mg/kg bw in the rats pretreated with B-Hb one hour before indomethacin. Six hours after indomethacin stomach removed and ulcer index was recorded. Ethanol ulcer were produced by 1 mL of ethanol in the rats pretreated with B-Hb 30 min before the *** hour after ethanol stomach were cut open to score ulcers. Histological examination and analysis of gastric wall mucus, non-protein sulfhydryl groups (NP-SH), and myeloperoxidase (MPO) were carried in gastric tissue following ethanol administration. RESULTS: In control rats pylorus ligation for 6 h resulted in the accumulation of 8.1 ± 0.61 mL of gastric secretion. The treatment of the rats with 100, 300 and 900 mg/kg of B-Hb produced a significant decrease in the volume of gastric secretion 5.6 ± 0.63, 5.5 ± 0.75 and 4.7 ± 0.58 mL respectively as compared to the control group [analysis of variance (ANOVA) F = 4.77, P < 0.05]. The lesion area in the control group was found to be 22.4 ± 3.2 mm2 six hours after the administration of indomethacin. Treatment of rats with B-Hb at doses of 100 mg/kg (24.3 ± 3.29 mm2), 300 mg/kg (16.2 ± 1.45 mm2) and 900 mg/kg (12.6 ± 1.85 mm2) produced a dose dependent decreased the lesion scores (ANOVA F = 4.50, P < 0.05). The ulcer index following one hour after 1 mL ethanol was 7.1 ± 0.31. Pretreatment of rats with B-Hb at the doses of 100 mg/kg (2.5 ± 0.42), 300 mg/kg (2.1 ± 0.4) and 900 mg/kg (0.7 ± 0.21) significantly inhibited the formation of gas

AIM:To study the association of apolipoprotein E(APOE) polymorphisms with the susceptibility ofinflammatory bowel disease(IBD) in Saudi ***:APOE genotyping was performed to evaluate the allele and genotype frequencies in 378 Saudi subjects including IBD patients with ulcerative colitis(n = 84) or Crohn's disease(n = 94) and matched controls(n = 200) using polymerase chain reaction and reverse-hybridization ***:The frequencies of the APOE ε2 allele and ε2/ε3 and ε2/ε4 genotypes were significantly higher in IBD patients than in controls(P allele and its heterozygous genotypes may increase the susceptibility to *** the contrary,the frequencies of the ε3 allele and ε3/ε3 genotype were lower in IBD patients as compared to controls,suggesting a protective effect of APOE ε3 for *** prevalence of the ε4 allele was also higher in the patient group compared to controls,suggesting that the ε4 allele may also increase the risk of *** results also indicated that the APOE ε4 allele was associated with an early age of IBD *** effect of gender or type of IBD(familial or sporadic) on the frequency distribution of APOE alleles and genotypes was noticed in this ***:APOE polymorphism is associated with risk of developing IBD and early age of onset in Saudi patients,though further studies with a large-size population are warranted.

提出在膨润土基钻井液中添加海泡石纳米颗粒来控制其性能,并通过实验研究了不同温度压力条件下海泡石纳米颗粒对膨润土基钻井液流变性、滤失性等性能的影响。测量了添加海泡石纳米颗粒前后膨润土基钻井液在不同温度压力条件下的塑性黏度、动切力和滤失量,并在储集层温度压力条件下对添加海泡石纳米颗粒前后的膨润土基钻井液进行了岩心驱替实验,对比了钻井液的滤失量及对地层的伤害程度。结果表明:添加海泡石纳米颗粒可以提高清水和盐水膨润土基钻井液的塑性黏度和动切力;海泡石纳米颗粒可以在较大的温度和压力范围内特别是高温高压条件下保持钻井液流变性的稳定;储集层温度压力条件下,海泡石纳米颗粒降低了钻井液的滤失量,抑制了砂岩岩心渗透率降低。海泡石纳米颗粒是一种理想的膨润土基钻井液添加剂。

Upon uniaxial compressive loading at 500℃(T/Tm=0.67,where Tm is the absolute melting point),the n-type Skutterudite alloy Yb03Co4Sb12 deforms plastically by creep via a power-law,with a stress exponent~3 consistent with dislocation viscous *** activation energy of 171 kJ/mol is measured over the temperature range of 500-587℃(T/Tm=0.67-0.75)at a stress of 30 ***_(0.3)Co_(4)Sb_(12)is ductile at 500℃,exhibiting a compressive strain of 25%when subjected to stresses ranging from 22 to 90 MPa for up to 28 *** the thermoelectric materials tested so far for creep,Yb_(0.3)Co_(4)Sb_(12)exhibits a creep resistance intermediate between low-melting(Bi2Te3,TAGS-85)and high-melting thermoelectrics(Mg2Si and ZrNiSn).A relatively modest drop in the figure of merit zT,from 0.67 to 0.52,is displayed by Yb_(0.3)Co_(4)Sb_(12)after accumulating 3.7%compressive creep strain at 500℃,mostly due to a drop in electrical conductivity.

One of the main health problems with high and markedly increased complications is diabetes. Despite several projects with preventative strategies and armories of medication, the arrangement of diabetes remains grossly unsatisfactory. Thus, it is vital to identify unfamiliar drugs or novel nutraceuticals for treating and preventing diabetes without side effects. The present study deals with scientific information on mushrooms with regards to its potential use as anti-diabetic active food. In addition to the anti-hyperglycemic action of mushrooms, the present study presents its effect on DNA damage, chromosome aberrations and sperm alternations in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. These animals have been treated, for 30 days, with amaryl (as control treatment) (0.03 mg/kg·b·wt/dl), low-dose mushroom (100 mg/kg·b·wt/dl) and high-dose mushroom (200 mg/ kg·b·wt/dl). The glucose level GL of streptozotocin-induced diabetic animals has been markedly improved by mushroom treatment;for example GL has decreases from 167.6 mg/dl down to 116.0 mg/dl for treatment with high-dose mushroom and 128.9 mg/dl for treatment with low-dose mushroom, comparing with amaryl treatment that decreases GL down to 92.6 mg/dl. But, the experimental results show that treatment with mushroom is better than treatment with amaryl in case of genetic changes (DNA fragmentation, disappear of some base pairs and chromosome aberrations. So, it is proposed that more close scientific attention be paid to precede more research of functional mushrooms for preventive and curative treatments for diabetes.

Bacterial diversity in Fez tanneries and Morocco's Binlamdoune River,using 16S RNA gene based fingerprinting

Tannery wastewater causes serious ecological and sanitary damage. Chemical analysis of water from Binlamdoune River of the medina of Fez was conducted and the results revealed the presence of toxic elements from tanneries and other industrial activities, which strongly affected water quality. To determine the effectiveness of bioremediation for depollution, we studied the abundance and diversity of bacteria residing in these polluted environments. Conducting denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis （PCR-DGGE） of the 16S rDNA area using primers related to bacteria showed a bacterial community belonging to eubacterial groups, that is, Epsilonproteobacteria, Clostridia, Lactobacillales, Bacteroidetes, Gammaproteobacteria, and alphaproteobacteria. In addition, cloning displayed the presence of clones belonging to the Firmicutes group. Moreover, scanning electron microscopy revealed a significant heterogeneity of microorganism forms and structures. These endogenous microbes could have a significant role in the purification of Binlamdoune River and Fez tannery wastewater.

In many papers, new classes of sets had been studied in topological space, then the notion of continuity between any two topological spaces (a function from X to Y is continuous if the inverse image of each open set of Y is open in X) is studied via this new classes of sets. Here the authors also introduce new classes of sets called pj-b-preopen, pj-b-B set, pj-b-t set, pj-b-semi-open and pj-sb-generalized closed set in bitopological space [1] which is a set with two topologies defined on it, then they study the notion of continuity via this set and introduce some of the theories which are studying the decomposition of continuity via this set in bitopological space.

BACKGROUND Blood transfusion is common during the peri-transplantation *** incidence of immunological reactions to blood transfusion after kidney transplantation and their consequences on graft outcomes have not been extensively *** To examine the risk of graft rejection and loss in patients who received blood transfusion in the immediate peri-transplantation *** We conducted a single-center retrospective cohort study of 105 kidney recipients,among them 54 patients received leukodepleted blood transfusion at our center between January 2017 and March *** This study included 105 kidney recipients,of which 80%kidneys were from living-related donors,14%from living-unrelated donors,and 6%from deceased ***-related donors were mostly first-degree relatives(74.5%),while the rest were second-degree *** patients were divided into transfusion(n=54)and non-transfusion(n=51)*** average hemoglobin level at which blood transfusion was commenced was 7.4±0.9 mg/*** were no differences between the groups in terms of rejection rates,graft loss,or *** the study period,there was no significant difference in creatinine level progression between the two *** graft function was higher in the transfusion group;however,this finding was not statistically significant.A high number of transfused packed red blood cells was significantly associated with increased creatinine levels at the end of the *** Leukodepleted blood transfusion was not associated with a higher risk of rejection,graft loss,or death in kidney transplant recipients.
