Partial shadings cause output power reduction from Photovoltaic(PV)arrays due to mismatch *** selection of PV array configurations play a vital role in maximum power *** paper proposes a novel Triple-Tied-Cross-Linked(T-T-C-L)configuration to extract maximum power with a lesser number of cross ties than a Total-Cross-Tied(T-C-T)*** performance of the proposed T-T-C-L configuration has been compared with various conventional PV array configurations,such as Series(S),Parallel(P),Series-Parallel(S-P),Bridge-Link(B-L),Honey-Comb(H-C),and T-C-T under Partial Shading Conditions(PSCs)by considering the 9×9 PV *** PSCs considered are uneven row,column,diagonal,random,short&narrow,short&wide,long&narrow,long&wide shadings and uniform half module *** measures,such as open circuit voltage,short circuit current,maximum power,voltages and currents at maximum power,mismatch losses,fill factor and efficiency have been used for performance analysis of various *** the results,it can be concluded that the performance of the proposed T-T-C-L configuration is optimal compared to other configurations.

Badminton is one of the world's most popular racquet sports,demanding motor skills such as agility and vertical jump mainly for striking a *** study compared the effects of four weeks of plyometric training and electromyostimulation of knee extensor and ankle plantar flexor muscles on agility,30-m sprint,lower limb explosive power and jumping ability amongst badminton ***-level badminton players(n=90)were randomly allocated into three groups:plyometric(PG),electromyostimulation(EG)and control group(CG),each with 30 ***-to-Groups Pretest-Posttest Design with two experimental(plyometric and electromyostimulation)groups and a control group was *** plyometric training was carried out two times/week while the EMS training was four times/week for four *** control group did not receive any *** three groups continued their general badminton training throughout the *** were assessed for agility,a 30-m sprint,a standing broad jump and a vertical jump height before and after four weeks.A significant improvement(p=0.01)in 30-m sprint time was observed(3.83%)in PG as compared to *** ability was significantly improved in both the PG and EG in comparison to the controls(4.45%,p=0.003 for PG and 3.95%,p=0.048 for EG).No significant improvement was found in agility and lower limb explosive power in either of the PG or EG groups in comparison to the *** training showed significant improvement in sprint time and jumping ability,whereas electromyostimulation training showed significant improvement only in jumping ability.

The extraction of neodymium（III） from acidic nitrate medium was investigated using Cyanex 921 as extractant in kerosene. The metal concentration in the aqueous phase before and after extraction was determined spectrophotometrically by Arsenazo III method. The complete equilibration was achieved in 15 rain. The effects of shaking time, nitric acid concentration, nitrate concentration, extractant concen- tration, and temperature on the extraction were studied. The extraction of Nd（III） was found to increase very slowly with increase in concen- tration of HNO3 in the range of 0.001-3.008 mol/L and then decreased when 0.01 mol/L HNO3 was used. The percentage of extraction was increased with increase in nitrate concentration from 0.01M）.45 mol/L and then decreased when nitrate concentration increased to 0.5 mol/L. Quantitative extraction of Nd（III）（98%） was obtained from the aqueous phase containing 0.001 mol/L HNO3 and 0.1 mol/L kNO3 using 0.5 mol/L Cyanex 921. On the basis of slope analysis, the extracted complex in the organic phase was proposed to be Nd（NO3）3.2Cyanex 921. The extraction of Nd（III） was found to increase with increase in concentration of metal ion in the range of 0.0014）.05 mol/L from 0.001 mol/L HNO3 and 0.1 mol/L kNO3 with 0.1 mol/L Cyanex 921. The percentage of extraction of neodymium was found to decrease with in- crease in temperature. From temperature variation studies, the negative value of AH indicated the extraction reaction to be exothermic and the negative value of AS indicated the formation of a stable complex, Almost 100% Nd（III） was recovered from the fully loaded organic phase using 0.002 mol/L H2SO4 and 0.01 mol/L HCl.

Leaf Traits and Antioxidant Defense for Drought Tolerance During Early Growth Stage in Some Popular Traditional Rice Landraces from koraput, India

Three popular traditional rice landraces, namely kalajeera, Machakanta and Haladichudi, from koraput, India were used to analyse the leaf traits and antioxidant defence for drought tolerance. When rice plants were exposed to different levels of drought stress by varying concentrations of polyethylene glycol （PEG） 6000, seed germination and growth parameters were significantly declined in all the rice landraces compared to the control. Drought stress also altered the leaf phenotypic traits based on chlorophyll fluorescence parameters and chlorophyll index, with more significant differences in susceptible variety IR64 than in traditional landraces. Furthermore, activities of antioxidative enzymes and proline and protein contents overtly increased under drought stress. The traditional rice landraces showed higher relative ratios for different parameters compared to the susceptible variety IR64. Taken together, the traditional landraces had superior leaf physiological efficiency compared to the susceptible and tolerant check varieties under drought stress.

Bioleaching of a low grade chalcopyrite （ball mill spillage material） was tested for copper recovery in shake flasks. The original samples （as received） were thermally activated （600℃, 30 min） to notice the change in physico-chemical and mineralogical characteristics of the host rock and subsequently its effect on copper recovery. A mixed culture of acidophilic chemolithotrophic bacterial consortium predominantly entailing Acidithiobacillus fer- rooxidans strain was used for bioleaching studies and optimization of process parameters of both original and thermally activated samples. Mineralogical characteriza- tion studies indicated the presence of chalcopyrite, pyrite in the silicate matrix of the granitic rock. Field emission scanning electron microscopy coupled with Energy dispersive spectroscopy （FESEM-EDS） and X-ray Fluor- escence （XRF） analysis indicated mostly SiO2. With pH 2, pulp density 10% w/v, inoculum 10% v/v, temperature 30~C, 150 ***-~, 49% copper could be recovered in 30 days from the finest particle size （- 1 ~ 0.75 mm） of the original spillage sample. Under similar conditions 95% copper could be recovered from the thermally activated sample with the same size fraction in 10 days. The study revealed that thermal activation leads to volume expansion in the rock with the development of cracks, micro and macro pores on its surface, thereby enabling bacterial solution to penetrate more easily into the body, facilitating enhanced copper dissolution.

This article reports the extraction of zirconium （IV） from aqueous HC1 solution by tri-octyl amine （TOA）, Cyanex 921, and their binary mixture using kerosene as the diluent. The effect of some parameters on the extraction of Zr（IV） was investigated such as equilibration time, aqueous phase acidity, extractant molarity, chloride ion concentration, nature of diluents, and temperature. The extraction of Zr（IV） was found to be 99% from 7.5 M HC1 using the mixture of extractants containing 0.1 M TOA and 0.02 M Cyanex 921 in kerosene. kerosene was found to be the effective diluent for the extraction of Zr（IV） with the binary mixture of TOA and Cyanex 921. The positive enthalpy change and positive entropy change in the binary extraction system show the endothermic process with an increase in entropy. Stripping of Zr（IV） from the loaded organic phase containing the mixture of TOA （0.1 M） and Cyanex 921 （0.02 M） indicates that HNO3 and Na2CO3 are the best stripping agents.

Performance evaluation for selectivity of the flocculant on hematite in selective flocculation

Increased demand for iron ore necessitates the utilization of low-grade iron ore fines, slimes, and existing tailings. Selective flocculation can be an alternative physico-chemical process for utilizing these low-grade fines, slimes, and tailings. In selective fiocculation, the most critical objective is the selection of proper reagents that will make fioc of desired minerals. In present study, selective flocculation was applied to ultra-fine synthetic mixtures of hematite and kaolinite, and the Fe value was upgraded up to 65.78% with the reduction of Al2O3 and SiO2 values to 2.65% and 3.6670, respectively. Here, degraded wheat starch was used as a *** this process, separation occurs on the basis of the selectivity of the flocculant. The selectivity of the fiocculant can be quantified in terms of separation efficiency. Here, an attempt was also made to develop a correlation between separation efficiency and major operating parameters such as flocculent dose, pH value, and solid concentration to predict the separation performance.

Because of the current depletion of high grade reserves, beneficiation of low grade ore, tailings produced and tailings stored in tailing ponds is needed to fulfill the market demand. Selective flocculation is one alternative process that could be used for the beneficiation of ultra-fine material. This process has not been extensively used commercially because of its complex dependency on process parameters. In this paper, a selective flocculation process, using synthetic mixtures of hematite and kaolinite in different ratios, was attempted, and the ad-sorption mechanism was investigated by Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy. A three-layer artificial neural network （ANN） model （4？4？3） was used to predict the separation performance of the process in terms of grade, Fe recovery, and separation efficiency. The model values were in good agreement with experimental values.

The major findings in this report are(ⅰ)development of nanocomposite photocatalyst working through Z-scheme charge transfer pathway across the heterojunction,(ⅱ)utilization of direct sunlight as the photo-source,and(ⅲ)prospect of ligand-hole in photocatalysis through enhanced sub-band gap absorption,The photocatalysts,namely LaNiO_(3),g-C_(3)N_(4) and LaNiO_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposites were synthesized via facile route and were characterized for their structure,morphology,microstructure,texture,elemental mapping and surface oxidation states by using several physicochemical *** photocatalytic performance of the nanocomposite was tested through the degradation of hazardous azo dye pollutants,namely reactive black 5 and methylene blue as well as the colorless antibiotic-pollutant tetracycline hydrochloride in aqueous solution in presence of natural sunlight with excellent recycling *** 10%LaNiO_(3)/g-C_(3)N_(4) nanocomposite sample shows the best catalytic activity,degrading respectively 94%,98.6%and 88.1%of reactive black 5,methylene blue and tetracycline hydrochloride in60,180 and 120 *** photocatalytic activity of the nanocomposite phase is several times superior to that of the pure *** improvements of photocatalytic activity of g-C_(3)N_(4) in the nanocomposite have been rationalized through the construction of direct Z-scheme heterojunction and suppression of electron-hole pair recombination *** enhanced photo-absorption of the nanocomposite can possibly be related to sub-bandgap absorption,which is associated to the midgap state originating from ligand-hole formation or defects in the *** photodegradation process is mediated through the formation of super oxide radical(O_(2))and hole(h^(+))as the main responsible species.

The color image segmentation problem has two main issues to be solved. The proper choice of a color model and the choice of an appropriate image model are the key issues in color image segmentation. In this work, Ohta (I1, I2, I3) is taken as the color model and different variants of Markov Random Field (MRF) models are proposed. In this regard, a Compound Markov Random Field (COMRF) model is porposed to take care of inter-color-plane and intra-color-plane interactions as well. In continuation to this model, a Constrained Compound Markov Random Field Model (CCOMRF) has been proposed to model the color images. The color image segmentation problem has been formulated in an unsupervised framework. The performance of the above proposed models has been compared with the standard MRF model and some of the state-of-the-art methods, and found to exhibit improved performance.
