A new three-parameter beta power distribution is introduced and studied. We derive formal expressions for its moments, generating function and Cumulative density function. The maximum likelihood estimation of the model parameters was also conducted. in the end, the superio.ity of the new distribution over the exponentiated exponential was made by means of data set.

Field and geochemical studies of the Bunu area,SW Nigeria,were carried out on gneiss-metasedimentary rocks that consist of migmatised gneiss,quartz-mica schist,and fo.iated and massive *** gneissmetasedimentary rocks are interbedded with meta-igneous rock.amphibo.ite),all of which are intruded by granitoid and cut by basic and felsic *** data on major,trace,and rare Earth elements of these rocks from the area were used to speculate on the petrogenetic and geodynamic evolution of the rocks in the ***,the metasedimentary rocks in the area have a restricted range of major o.ides such as Sio_(2)and Al_(2)o_(3)with low average va.ues of Feo,Mno,Cao,and *** of average va.ues of HSFE such as Zr,Nb,and Y are moderately high in migmatitic gneiss,quartzmica schist,and low in both massive and fo.iated quartzite.ΣLREE average va.ues are 124.25,132.41,and18.64 ppm respectively for migmatite gneiss,quartz-mica schist,and low in both massive and fo.iated *** rocks are also generally enriched in Ba,Cs,Pb,u,Cr,Rb,and Zr and depleted in Be,Sr,Ti,Mo,Th,and *** enrichment–depletion in major o.ides and trace elements of the rocks in this area is probably a consequence of the movement of metamorphic remo.ilized fluids within the rocks in the area during the Pan-African or earlier events as noted in the adjacent Egbe-isanlu Schist belt.A further geochemical characterisation of the rocks in the area.using Log(Na_(2)o/ko)vs Log(Sio_(2)/Al_(2)o_(3)indicates that while the proto.ith of migmatised gneiss and quartzmica schist are greywackes to litharenite in compo.itions that of quartzites are sublitharenite to quartz *** the ternary plot of Al_(2)o_(3)-(Cao+Na_(2)o)-ko for metasedimentary rocks in the area,most migmatitic gneiss and quartz-mica schist rocks plot close to average shale while quartzites mostly tend to.illite compo.itions and almost toward the Al_(2)o_(3)-apex of the diagram attesting to depletion of

Here the discovery of refractory multi-principal element alloys(MPEAs)with high-tempera.ure strength and stability is pursued within a constrained and application-relevant design space.A comprehensive approach is developed and applied to explore all 165 ternary systems in the Al-Ce-Fe-Hf-Mo-Nb-Ta-Ti-V-W-Zr family.A subset of ternary systems that contain large areas in compo.ition–tempera.ure space with high strength and robust BCC phase stability is *** sets of high-performing alloys are identified,each set optimized for one combination of phase constraint,optimization target,and tempera.ure *** mechanical tests support the viability of the *** work highlights the importance of considering phase stability,explo.ing non-equiato.ic regions of compo.ition space,and applying application-relevant *** i and ii pro.ide three down-selection techniques for identifying high-performing BCC refractory MPEAs,design guidelines,and many candidates predicted to have BCC phase stability and strengths 2–3 times higher than any reported to date.

遗传参数是设计动物育种规划和预测选择进展的重要参数,且是群体特异的。本研究使用贝叶斯相关方法对华东地区45,517荷斯坦奶牛的23个体型性状进行了遗传参数估计。并对这些性状进行了综合评价,方法包括:1)使用中国奶牛协会（Dairy Asso.iation of China,DAC）提供的综合指数;2)使用主成分分析（PCA）和因子分析（FA）探索这些体型性状之间的关系。综合指数的估计遗传力属于低（肢蹄性状为0.04）到中遗传力（体容量性状为0.23）。单个体型性状（iBCT）之间的遗传相关较高。特征向量大于1的第一至第七主成分和潜在因子都解释了60.37%的变异。第一主成分和第一因子所包含的性状主要是与产奶量相关的性状。使用多性状模型估计的主成分的遗传力（0.07~0.21）及潜在因子的遗传力（0.07~0.23）为低到中等遗传力。多变量之间的遗传相关明显低于单个性状之间的遗传相关。本研究结果表明PCA及FA将体型性状简化为新的变量可用于提高中国荷斯坦牛的遗传进展。另外,PCA和FA可以用于减少估计性状的数量从而提高大数据及复杂性状的分析准确性及降低计算负担。我们对621头具有简化基因组测定（GGRS）基因型的个体开展了全基因组关联分析（GWAS）,并找到了三个相关联的单核苷酸多态性（single nucleo.ide polymorphism,SNP）位点。其中,10号染色体上的一个SNP被发现与PC1相关,15及24号染色体上的两个SNP与PC3相关。我们研究了位于这三个SNP附近的基因,发现了可能的候选基因。例如,ACoT4-like（acyl-CoA硫脂酶4样）和STiM1（机制相互作用分子1）以及u6（u6剪接体RNA）。这些基因之前都没有被报道与体型性状关联。ACoT4基因在家畜中还没有被定义其特性。STiM1被发现主要在牛主动脉内皮细胞（BAECs）中表达,在钙池操纵钙离子通道（SoCE）和肌醇1,4,5三磷酸受体（iP3R）依赖钙离子释放中都有正向效应。而u6基因之前被证实在内洛尔牛种与繁殖性状相关。下一步计划是开展验证试验来找出这些基因在奶牛体型性状中的角色。

ong>introduction: ong>Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a major cause of prenatal death worldwide. Chro.ic hepatitis B (CHB) infection is asso.iated with an increased risk of cirrho.is, hepatic decompo.ition, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). ong>objective:ong> This project work surveyed the prevalence of hepatitis B among febrile patients as well as to detect hepatitis B virus in the blood and the stage of the infection of hepatitis B on the affected patients and carrier stage or state of immunity of the affected patients. ong>Methodology:ong> A well-designed questionnaire/checklist was used to gather information regarding age, HiV-Sta.us, and sex from 50 febrile patients. 2 ml of blood sample was obtained by venin-puncture using a sterile hypodermic syringe and emptied into a clean dry tube (without anticoa.ulant) observing the necessary aseptic techniques. The blood was centrifuged and the sera obtained and stored at 2 - 8 c for HBsAg screening. Hepatitis B virus was tested using an in-vitro diagnostic kit called HBsAg one-step rapid test strip. The HBsAg one-step rapid test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay based on the principle of the double antibody-sandwich technique. The membrane is pre-coated with anti-HBsAg antibo.ies on the test line region of the test. During testing, the serum specimen reacts with the particle coated with anti-HBsAg antibody. The serum moves up with capillary action to react with the coated antibody on the membrane. Then, the colored line (po.itive) will be generated which shows the presence of the virus. But negative shows absence of the virus. The blood in the test tube was spun using a centrifuge to separate the red cells from the serum. The test pouch, serum, and control were allowed to equilibrate to room tempera.ure before testing. The test strip was removed from the sealed pouch and used immediately. Background: The World Health organization adopted Artenisinin based combination therapy (ACT) for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria in endemic regions. The efficacy of ACT in malaria treatment must have prompted this choice. There’s need to protect the ACT from plasmo.ial resistance. Hence, clinical scaling up of ACT program is needed. This entails continued assessment, mo.ito.ing and eva.uation of the effectiveness of component drugs in endemic areas. Purpose: This study revisited the eva.uation of the effectiveness of artemether-lumefantrine combination (ALC) in the treatment of uncomplicated malaria in Elele, Nigeria. Method: The study was conducted in Elele, a malaria endemic area in Rivers State, Nigeria. This was a facility based descriptive, cross sectional study at Madonna.university Teaching Hospital (MuTH) Elele using simple sampling technique. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected. 100 patients who consented to the study were recruited in the outpatient clinic using semi structured questionnaires as part of study instrument. inclusion criteria were having a body tempera.ure of ≥37.5°C, symptoms of malaria, po.itive parasitemia, non ingestion of antimalarial in the past 2 weeks, etc. MuTH ethics committee gave ethical clearance. Patient recruitment follo.ing consent commenced with their symptoms and signs recorded at presentation while disappearance of the same was determined follo.ing drug ingestion on days 2/4/6/8/10 and 14. The data gotten was analyzed by tallying the responses to get the frequencies using SPSS 16.0 version and Microsoft excel tools. The student t-test was used to calculate the P-va.ue, va.ues onsidered statistically significant. Results: Most of the patients knew mosquitoes as the mode of malaria transmission (70%). The ACT is known and used by these patients: artesunate/amo.ia.uine: 41 (41%);artesunate/lumefantrine: 40 (40%);artesunate/sulphado.ine-pyrimethamine: 38(38%);artesunate/mefloquine: 20 (20%).
