Predictive value of focused assessment with sonography for trauma （FASt） for laparotomy in unstable polytrauma Egyptians patients

Purpose： the emergency physicians face significant clinical uncertainty when multiple trauma patients arrive in the emergency department （ED）. the priorities for assessment and treatment of polytrauma patients are established in the primary survey. Focused assessment with sonography for trauma （FASt） is very essential clinical skill during trauma resuscitation. Use of point of care ultrasound among the trauma team working in the primary survey in emergency care settings is lacking in Suez Canal University Hospitals even ultrasound machine not available in ED. this study aims to evaluate the accuracy of FASt in hemodynam- ically unstable polytraumatized patients and to determine its role as an indication of laparotomy. Methods： this study is a cross-sectional study included 150 polytrauma patients with a blunt mechanism admitted in Suez Canal University Hospital. Firstly primary survey by airway check, cervical spine securing with neck collar, maintenance of breathing/circulation and management of life threading conditions if present were conducted accordingly to AtLS （advanced trauma life support） guidelines. the patients were assessed in the primary survey using the FASt as a tool to determine the presence of intra- abdominal collection. Results： A total of 150 patients, and FASt scans were performed in all cases. the sensitivity and specificity were 92.6% and 100%, respectively. the negative predictive value was 92%, while the positive predictive value of FASt was 100%. the accuracy of FASt was 96%. Conclusion： FASt is an important method to detect intra-abdominal fluid in the initial assessment in hemodynamically unstable polytrauma patients with high accuracy.

Palmitic Acid-Lauric Acid/Expanded Graphite as Form-Stable Composite Phase Change Material for Low-temperature Energy Storage Applications

Low thermal conductivity of binary fatty acid mixture of palmitic and lauric acids(PA-LA)within the value range of 0.15-0.17 W/(m·K)restricts its wide utilization as thermal energy storage material in the active regime of solar heating applications at low operating ***,this mixture as phase change material(PCM)has a suitable phase-change temperature and heat of 36℃and 176.3 J/g,***,the objective of this study is to formulate a novel form-stable composite PCM with the PA-LA mixture and expanded graphite(EG)as a thermal ***-LA eutectic mixture with varied concentrations of EG was prepared and *** thermal conductivity of PA-LA/EG increased gradually with the mass of *** thermal properties were observed in PA-LA/(5%EG)composite,where its melting(t_(m)),freezing temperature(t_(t)),latent melting heat and thermal conductivity was 35.53℃,34.84℃,174 J/g,and 1.19 W/(m·K),***,the composite PCM is characterized by good chemical-thermal stability and thermal reliability for long-term *** conclusion,it can be utilized as a prospective form-stable PCM for thermal energy storage in solar heating systems,overheat treatment systems,and other thermal storage applications at low operating temperatures.

the mirid bug Apolygus lucorum(Hemiptera:Miridae)is a polyphagous pest that affects a wide range of host *** control remains challenging mainly due to its rapid reproduction,necessitating an understanding of sex pheromone *** recognition of sex pheromones is vital for courtship and mating behaviors,and is mediated by various chemosensory-associated *** these,sensory neuron membrane protein(SNMP),a CD36-related protein,is suggested to play crucial roles in detecting sex *** this study,we employed transcriptomic and genomic data from *** and phylogenetic approaches,and identified four putative SNMP genes(AlucSNMP1a,AlucSNMP1b,AlucSNMP2a,and AlucSNMP2b)with full open reading *** analysis revealed the ubiquitous presence of AlucSNMP transcripts in multiple tissues,with only AlucSNMP1a exhibiting male-biased expression in the antennae,suggesting its potential role in male *** analysis using the Xenopus oocyte expression system,coupled with two-electrode voltage clamp recording,demonstrated that the co-expression of AlucSNMP1a with specific pheromone receptors(PRs)and the Odorant receptor co-receptor(Orco)significantly enhanced electrophysiological responses to sex pheromones compared to the co-expression of PRs and Orco ***,the results indicated that the presence of AlucSNMP1a not only affected the responsiveness to sex pheromones but also influenced the kinetics(activation and inactivation)of the induced *** contrast,the co-expression of AlucSNMP1b with AlucPR/Orco complexes had no impact on the inward currents induced by two pheromone *** examination of the selective pressures on SNMP1 genes across 20 species indicated strong purifying selection,implying potential functional conservation in various *** findings highlight the crucial role of AlucSNMP1a in the response to sex pheromones.

基于实验测量和文献调研建立了包含700多个样本的凝析气藏数据集,对常用的计算露点压力的经验关系式和状态方程进行了评估,并新建了一个经验关系式,对各种关系式及Peng-Robinson状态方程进行了对比评估和参数敏感性分析。研究表明,目前常用的凝析气判别标准不够准确;Peng-Robinson状态方程不具有唯一解,受C7+组分的表征关系式和分割方案等多种因素的影响;应用于建立的数据集时,Nemeth-Kennedy关系式准确度最高,其次为Elsharkawy关系式和Godwin关系式,Shokir关系式由于无法用于不含C7+组分的样本,准确度最低;新建关系式的平均绝对误差、均方根误差和决定系数分别为7.6%,588和0.87,在统计学意义上优于前人4种关系式。通过与实验数据和Peng-Robinson状态方程模拟结果进行对比验证了新建关系式的准确性和有效性。

Branched-chain amino acids partially recover the reduced growth of pigs fed with protein-restricted diets through both central and peripheral factors

the objective of this study was to assess the growth efficiency of pigs fed with protein-restricted diets supplemented with branched-chain amino acids(BCAA)and limiting amino acids(LAA)above the rec-ommended *** 2 weeks of adaptation,48 young barrows were weight matched and randomly assigned to 6 treatments(8 pigs/treatment)for 4 weeks:positive control(PC)with standard protein,negative control(NC)with very low protein containing LAA(i.e.,Lys,Met,thr and trp)at rec-ommended levels,and NC containing LAA 25%(L25),LAA 50%(L50),LAA+BCAA(i.e.,Leu,Ile and Val)25%(LB25)and LAA+BCAA 50%(LB50)more than *** intake(FI)and body weight(BW)were measured daily and weekly,*** week 6,blood samples were collected,all pigs euthanized and tissue samples *** data were analyzed by univariate GLM or mixed procedure(SPSS)and the means were separated using paired Student's t-test followed by Benjamini-Hochberg *** to PC,NC had decreased FI,BW,unsupplemented plasma essential amino acids,serum insulin-like growth factor-I(IGF-I)and hypothalamic neuropeptide Y(NPY)(Pto NC,L25 or L50,LB50 had increased BW and serum IGF-I and decreased plasma serotonin and both LB25 and LB50 had higher FI,plasma BCAA,hypothalamic 5-hydroxytryptamine-receptor 2A and NPY and jejunal 5-hydroxytryptamine-receptor 7(Ptation of protein-restricted diets with increased levels of dietary BCAA partially recovered the negative effects of these diets on growth through improved IGF-I concentration and FI,which was associated with changed expression of serotonin receptors,blood AA and hypothalamic NPY.

混合动力通过电动机和发动机两种动力源驱动车辆运行,两种动力源之间的切换对整车的动力性和驾驶性有着重要的影响。在客车用单轴并联式混合动力系统的基础上,针对混合动力系统两个动力源响应性差异而造成的整车纵向加速度冲击,以纯电动模式切换到纯发动机模式和混合驱动模式的过渡过程为研究重点,提出离合器结合过程的动态转矩控制策略,即在离合器结合之前和结合过程中,采用发动机转速自适应模糊比例积分微分(Proportional-integral-differential,PID)闭环控制跟随电动机转速;在离合器结合后,利用电动机补偿发动机动态转矩,并且在混合动力系统台架上对提出的动态控制策略进行验证。试验结果表明,PID所提出的离合器结合过程的动态转矩控制策略改善了整车纵向冲击度,提高整车的驾驶性能,为进一步的整车试验奠定基础。

Long-term effect of fire on herbaceous species diversity in oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) forests in northern Iran

We studied the long-term impacts of natural burning on herbaceous species diversity 37 years after a fire occurred in the Roudbar forests of Guilan Province, northern Iran. Numerous studies have examined short-term changes in understory vegetation following wildfire; however, very few long-term studies are available or changes inferred from retrospective studies based on chro- nosequences. For this study, 170 ha of forest （85 ha, burned areas; 85 ha, unburned areas） were surveyed. Because the 1000 m2 plots were too large for detailed measurements of herbaceous species, we determined a sub-sample size according to the Whittaker＇s nested plot sampling protocol and minimal areas method. Hence, sub-plots of 32 m2 were used for herbaceous species measurements, which consisted of percent cover of each species based on the Domin criterion. We measured plant diversity （Shannon-Wiener index）, spe- cies richness （Margalef＇s index）, and evenness （Smith-Wilson index）. Mean percent cover, together with diversity, richness and even- ness, increased markedly in burned areas compared to unburned controls. this suggests that the biodiversity of these forests could be restored within 37 years after fire. However, the abundance of invasive species such as Rubus fruticosus and Bromus benekenii increased significantly in burned areas, but these could be controlled by relevant silvicultural operations.
