The reactive adsorption desulfurization of model gasoline was carried out on ni/ZnO-HY *** ni/ZnO-HY adsorbent was characterized by n2adsorption-desorption test(BET),X-ray diffractometry(XRD),and temperature-programmed reduction(TPR)*** test results have demonstrated that HY-zeolite is a feasible support for ni/ZnO components used in reactive adsorption *** results of XRD and TPR analyses showed that most of nickel element was present as ni2+species with only a small part existing as ni3+species,and the ni2+species had interactions with *** the conditions of this study,which specified a 50% ratio of HY-zeolite in the adsorbent,a Zn/ni molar ratio of 10,and a reduction temperature of 400℃,the ni/ZnO-HY adsorbent showed the best desulfurization *** sulfur capacity of ni/ZnO-HY adsorbent could be recovered to 92.19% of the fresh one after being subjected to regeneration at 500℃,and could be maintained at 82.17% of the fresh one after 5 regeneration cycles.

Little information is available about the nutritive value of expanded soybean meal, which is produced by expansion of soybeans prior to solvent extraction of the oil. During processing, expanded soybean meal is subjected to additional heat, which might increase the concentration of ruminally undegraded protein. Processing of soybeans with heat during oil extraction could affect lysine availability by increasing ruminally undegraded protein or by impairing intestinal digestion. Our objective was to compare solvent and expanded soybeans with regard to chemical composition and nutritive value for dairy cattle. Samples of expanded soybean meal （n = 14） and solventextracted soybean meal （n = 5） were obtained from People＇s Republic of China to study effects of the expansion process on nutritive value for dairy cattle. Solvent-extracted soybean meal （n = 2） and mechanically extracted （heated） soybean meal （n = 2） from the United States served as references for comparison. Samples were analyzed for crude fat, long-chain fatty acids, crude protein, amino acids, chemically available lysine, in situ ruminal protein degradation, and in vitro intestinal digestibility. no differences were found between solvent-extracted soybean meals from China and expanded soybean meals from China for crude fat, crude protein, amino acids, or chemically available lysine. In situ disappearance of nitrogen, ruminally undegraded protein content, and in vitro intestinal digestion of the ruminally undegraded protein were generally similar between solvent-extracted soybean meals made in China and expanded soybean meals made in China; variation among soybean meals was small. Results indicate that the additional heat from the expansion process was not great enough to affect the nutritive value of soybean meal protein for ruminants. The study aimed to evaluate the differences in secretion of nT-proBnP and conventional cardiac markers in patients with STE-ACS vs nSTE-ACS as a trial to solve the dilemma of the early detection of myocardial ischemia in nSTE-ACS. Sixty two patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) divided into 2 groups according to ECG: group1 with elevated ST segment in ECG (STE-ACS) and group 2 with non elevated ST segment (nSTE-ACS).Twenty healthy subjects with matched age and sex were enrolled as control group in this study. In the sera of all subjects, levels of nT –proBnP, CK-mB and troponin-T were measured by different kits. CK-mB and TnT were both significantly higher in STE-ACS patients compared to nSTE-ACS patients. Conversely, nT-proBnP was significantly higher in nSTE-ACS patients than STE-ACS especially within 4 hours from onset of chest pain. Comparison between nT-proBnP, TnT and CK-mB levels by ROC curves revealed area under the curves = 0.68, 0.31, 0.17 respectively. nT-proBnP at cutoff 415 pg/mL in nSTE-ACS patients had higher sensitivity and specificity (92%, 39%;respectively) than other markers that will help in earl diagnosis of nSTE-ACS.

Background: mesh expansion and fixation at retro-rectus plane through multiples stabs produces good results. But these stabs cause cosmetic disorders for the patients and doctors. So, we find some modification to do this procedure without these stabbing wounds in midline hernial repair. Patients and methods: This technique was used to fix the mesh at retro-rectus plane in 50 patients suffering from midline hernias, from January 2008 through January 2010 at Zagazig university Hospital, Egypt. Laparotomy incision was done over the hernial sac or at old incision;the contents were then released and reduced into peritoneal cavity without much subcutaneous dissection. The suitable sheet of polypropylene mesh to cover the hernial defect and any weak area was prepared and fixed at retro-rectus plane percutaneously without stabbing wounds by using redirecting suture hook. The mean period of follow up was 26 months. Results: There was no recurrence during the period of follow up. Five patients developed subcutaneous bluish discoloration at the site of some stitches, which disappear within two weeks with conservative treatment. Conclusion: Percutaneous mesh expansion and fixation at retro-rectus plane by using redirecting suture hook procedure has good results in recurrence rate and cosmetic appearance.

AIm To evaluate the clinical value and efficiency of transarterial chemoperfusion(TACP) in patients with liver metastases from breast cancer(BC) and colorectal cancer(CRC).mETHODS We treated 36 patients with liver metastases of BC(n = 19, 19 females) and CRC(n = 17; 8 females, 9 males) with repeated TACP. The treatment interval was 4 wk. TACP was performed with gemcitabine(1000 mg/m2) and mitomycin(10 mg/m2), administered within 1 h after positioning the catheter tip in the hepatic artery. Before treatment, the size, location, tumour volume, vascularization and number of liver tumours were evaluated using magnetic resonance imaging(mRI). Tumour response was evaluated according to the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors *** TACP using gemcitabine and mitomycin for metastases from CRC and BC was performed without any serious side effects. The follow-up mRI showed a therapeutic response in 84.2% of the BC patients-stable disease 47.4% and partial response 36.8%. A progression was seen in 15.8%.CRC patients showed a therapeutic response in 52.9% of cases. A progression of the disease was documented in 47.1% of the patients with CRC. These data show that TACP in patients with liver metastases of BC leads to a significantly better therapeutic response compared with CRC patients(P = 0.042). The median survival time was 13.2 mo for the BC patients, which is significantly longer than for CRC patients at 9.3 mo(P = 0.001).COnCLUSIOn TACP for liver metastases of BC appears to be a safe and effective palliative treatment with improved outcomes in comparison to patients with CRC.

Background: Obesity is a major health problem worldwide and is involved in etiology of breast cancer. Egypt is ranked among the highest globally in obesity problem. Body mass index (BmI) is the most widely used tool to define obesity. Body surface area (BSA) is another measure used widely in clinical practice, particularly in calculating doses of chemotherapeutic agents. Both Body Surface Area (BSA) and Body mass Index (BmI) rely on weight and height and can be used as indicators of obesity. Patients and methods: This is a cross-sectional observational study that was carried out in the department of clinical oncology, Faculty of medicine, Ain Shams University Hospitals. medical records of patients scheduled for adjuvant chemotherapy were revised regarding age, comorbidity, side of the tumor, stage, and type of the surgery performed. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) to detect ER, PR, and Her2 and molecular subtypes of the tumors was recorded. BmI and BSA were calculated for all patients. Inclusion Criteria: Female patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer, cases that didn’t start the adjuvant treatment, data for IHC available, weight, and height of the patients recorded in the files. Exclusion Criteria: male breast cancer cases, bilateral cases, metastatic cases, age above 80 years, cases with multiple primaries. Results: The mean age of patients was 48 ± 11 years and 60% of them were premenopausal. The mean weight in Kgs was 81 ± 13 and the mean height in cm was 156 cm ± 5. mean BmI was 33.8 ± 6.0 and mean BSA was 1.84 ± 0.15. Comorbidities were present in 10.6% of patients. In the studied group of patients, tumors were more common of right side (55.7%), T2 tumor (40%), n1 (40.9%), and stage III in 57.4%. Regarding the hormonal receptor status, most of the patients were ER+ (76.5%), PR+ (66.1%) and Her2? (73.9%). The effect of chitosan incorporated into feed formulation on the growth, feed utilization, body composition and histological response of sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) was investigated. Final fish weight, feed conversion ratio (FCR), specific growth rate (SGR), protein efficiency ratio (PER), protein productive value (PPV), and energy utilization (EU) of sea bass feed chitosan supplemented diet and the control diet were determined at the end of experiment. Data presents mean ± SD from triplicate determination (n = 3) for 75 days feeding trial. Different concentrations (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 & 4.0) and control without chitosan incorporated with total fish feed in the form of dry diets were fed for 75 days. Average final weight (FW) was significantly higher at diet 3 (1 g?kg?1 chitosan) and the lowest in control fish group, specific growth rate (SGR) was significant at diet 3. Also, protein efficiency ratio (PER), protein productive value (PPV), and energy utilization (EU) showed the same trend. The chemical body composition, crude protein, dry matter, crude fat and ash were significant (P ≤ 0.01) different compared to control groups. The present investigation suggested that the chitosan incorporated into diets of sea bass fish certainly enhanced the non specific responses and reduced mortality and also improved the growth performance of fish.
