introduction: Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is a public health problem. There are 100 to 140 million girls and women who suffer every year in the world [1]. The aim of this study is to improve the medical care and reduce complications of FGM at the Regionalhospital of N’zérékoré, to determine their frequency, and to evaluate the maternal-fetalprognosis. Methods: The study was conducted at the Regional Hospital of N’zérékoré. This was a cross-sectional, descriptive and analytic study of 6 months, from 1 September 2016 to 28 February 2017, including all pregnant women admitted for childbirth who had a complication of female genital mutilation. Results: A total of 1295 women gave birth in the service, of which 1204 women were women with female genital mutilation. Given a frequency of 92.97%, of these 1204 mutilated women, 223 presented obstetrical complications during their delivery, a proportion of 17.22%. They were mostly young patients, mostly housewives who were not in school. Type ii FGM was the most common (53.06%). Obstetric complications were dominated by complicated perinatal tears (54.08%), and hemorrhages (40.81%). The catch was dominated by perineorrhaphy. Conclusion: The frequency of FGM was 92.97% and that of their obstetric complications 17.22%. Most were house-wives, not in school. There was FGM type ii. The abandonment of FGM would reduce maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality.

We have read with interest the article “Telomere length regulates TERRA levels through increased trimethylation of telomeric H3K9 and HP1α” by Arnoult and colleagues [1]. This study focuses on human telomeric chromatin structure using different techniques like Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChiP), cytolocalization or RT-qPCR. However, it has been performed without taking into consideration the presence of interstitial Telomeric Sequences (iTSs) in the human genome. Some of the conclusions of the article are undoubtedly clear but there are others that might be explained in alternative ways, considering the existence of iTSs. Following, we mention some comments that arise from this interesting article.

Fertilizers industry faces the challenge of improving the efficiency of its products either by optimizing the fertilizers in use or by developing new types of *** the last decade,controlled and slow release technologies have become more *** technologies aim to increase the efficiency of the applied substance by increasing its action over time and avoiding losses of all kinds(leaching,volatilization).The main purpose of the current study was to obtain a slow release biofertilizer by incorporating microalgae into a polymeric urea-formaldehyde matrix(PUFM).The quantitative analysis of macronutrients and micronutrients in the microalgae was determined using different techniques including titration,UV and Atomic Adsorption *** matrix and the formulation obtained(PUFM+CHLO)were also characterized by infrared Spectroscopy(FTiR)and Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM).The“in vitro”study showed a typical slow release behavior of nitrogen(N),phosphorus(P)and potassium(K)*** was also shown that(PUFM+CHLO)formulation has the slowest macronutrients release time with a maximum release of 28%,26%y 46%for(N-P-K)macronutrients respectively during a period of 30 ***"in vivo"study exposed the benefits of the biofertilizer formulation(PUFM+CHLO)from conventional commercial fertilizer(CF)(NPK-14-5-12).Due to the presence of nutrients of natural origin in microalgae,(PUFM+CHLO)shows ecological effects which could also developing sustainable agriculture systems.

This work contributes to the improvement of the azo group which has outstanding electron donating capability and serves as excellent ligands in the field of coordination chemistry. The authors of this research deal with the microwave irradiation synthesis of some new Schiff bases derived from the biologically effective and photoactive Congo red [ia-g]. The design and preparation of the structurally reversed analogous compounds to the above compounds [iiia-d] were accomplished using the conventional chemical methods by keeping the benzidine moiety of Congo red as the nucleus of the synthesized compounds, doubling the number of the azo groups and inverting the way of their conjugation order with the azomethine groups. The structures of the newly prepared compounds were established on the basis of their FTiR and H1 NMR spectral data.

Seawater intrusion caused by groundwater over-exploitation from coastal aquifers poses a severe problem in many regions. Formulation of proper pumping strategy using a simulation model can assure sustainable supply of fresh water from the coastal aquifers. The focus of the present study is on the development of a numerical model based on Meshfree (MFree) method to study the seawater intrusion problem. For the simulation of seawater intrusion problem, widely used models are based on Finite Difference (FDM) and Finite Element (FEM) Methods, which demand well defined grids/meshes and considerable pre-processing efforts. Here, MFree Point Collocation Method (PCM) based on the Radial Basis Function (RBF) is proposed for the simulation. Diffusive interface approach with density-dependent dispersion and solution of flow and solute transport is adopted. These equations are solved using PCM with appropriate boundary conditions. The developed model has been verified with Henry’s problem, and found to be satisfactory. Further the model has been applied to another established problem and an attempt is made to examine the influence of important system parameters including pumping and recharge on the seawater intrusion. The PCM based MFree model is found computationally efficient as preprocessing is avoided when compared to other numerical methods.

We have previously described a simple method to analyze the chromatin structure of Arabidopsis telomeres independently of that of interstitial Telomeric Sequences (iTSs). By using this method, we found that, whereas iTSs are heterochromatic, Arabidopsis telomeres exhibit euchromatic features [1]. Some concerns have been recently raised about the accuracy of this procedure [2]. Here, we summarize these concerns and justify our experimental approaches and interpretation of results.

The temperature of a solar cell subjected to the incident global solar radiation as a function of the local day time is determined. A heat balance equation is solved considering the heat losses due to convection and thermal radiation. The cell efficiency is estimated as a measure of its performance. The results reveal that the temperature within the cell attains significant values. Nevertheless, the temperature dependence of its efficiency along the day time is not pronouncing. it slightly decreases with temperature.

Physical Alloying of Plasma Metallization Carbide Nanocomposite Coating by Allotropic Carbon Nanostructures

The fundamental scientific problem for micro- and nano-electronics has been solved—methods for creating and investigating properties of physically doped materials with spatially inhomogeneous structure at the micro- and nano-meter scale have been developed. For the application of functional nanocomposite film coatings based on carbides of various transition metals structured by nanocarbon, for the first time in the world, we developed a new technique for their plasma deposition on a substrate without the use of reaction gases (hydrocarbons such as propane, acetylene, etc.). We have created nanostructured film materials, including those with increased strength and wear resistance, heterogeneous at the nanoscale, physically doped with nanostructures—quantum traps for free electrons. We learned how to simultaneously spray (in a plasma of a stationary magnetron discharge) carbides and graphite from a special mosaic target (carbide + carbon) made mechanically. As a result of such stationary sputtering of carbides and carbon, plasma nanostructured coatings were obtained from nanocarbides, metal nanocrystals and nanocarbon. Our design of such a target made it possible to intensively cool it in the magnetron body and spray its parts (carbide + carbon) simultaneously with a high power density of a constant plasma discharge—in the range of values from 40 W/cm2 to 125 W/cm2. Such sputtering with a change in the power or the initial relative surface areas of various parts of the mosaic target (carbon and carbide) made it possible to change the average density of carbide, metal and carbon in a nanostructured (nanocarbon and metal nanostructures) coating. The changed relative density of various components of the nanocomposite (nanostructures of carbide, metal, and carbon in the form of graphite) significantly affected the physical properties of the nanocomposite coating.
