Quetiapine augmentation of prolonged exposure therapy in veterans with PTSD and a history of mild traumatic brain injury: design and methodology of a pilot study

Background: Selective serotonergic reuptake inhibitors(SSRIs) are first-line pharmacologic treatments for patients with posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD), but must be given over extended period of time before the onset of action. The use of SSRIs in PTSD patients with mild traumatic brain injury(m TBI) is problematic since SSRIs could exacerbate post-concussion syndrome(PCS) symptoms. VA/DOD guidelines identify trauma-focused psychotherapy as the best evidence-based treatment for PTSD, but overall effectiveness is limited by reduced levels of patient engagement and retention. A previous study from this research group suggested that quetiapine monotherapy, but not risperidone or valproate, could increase engagement in trauma-focused ***: We report the study protocol of a pilot study funded under the South-Central Mental Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center pilot study program from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This randomized, open-label study was designed to evaluate the feasibility of completing a randomized trial of quetiapine vs. treatment as usual to promote patient engagement in PTSD patients with a history of m ***: We expect that the success of this ongoing study should provide us with the preliminary data necessary to design a full-scale randomized trial. Positive efficacy results in a full-scale trial should inform new VA guidelines for clinical practice by showing that quetiapine-related improvements in patient engagement and retention may be the most effective approach to assure that VA resources achieve the best possible outcome for *** registration: NCT04280965.

Prediction of subsidence risk by FMEA using artificial neural network and fuzzy inference system

Construction of metro tunnels in dense and crowded urban areas is faced with many risks, such as sub- sidence. The purpose of this paper was the prediction of subsidence risk by failure mode and effect anal- ysis （FMEA） and fuzzy inference system （FIS）. Fuzzy theory will be able to model uncertainties. Fuzzy FMEA provides a tool that can work in a better way with vague concepts and without sufficient informa- tion than conventional FMEA. In this paper, S and D are obtained from fuzzy rules and 0 is obtained from artificial neural network （ANN）. FMEA is performed by developing a fuzzy risk priority number （FRPN）. The FRPN for two stations in Tehran No.4 subway line is 3.1 and 5.5, respectively. To investigate the suit- ability of this approach, the predictions by FMEA have been compared with actual data. The results show that this method can be useful in the prediction of subsidence risk in urban tunnels.

Cattaneo-Christov heat and mass flux model for 3D hydrodynamic flow of chemically reactive Maxwell liquid

This research focuses on the Cattaneo-Christov theory of heat and mass flux for a three-dimensional Maxwell liquid towards a moving surface. An incompressible laminar flow with variable thermal conductivity is considered. The flow generation is due to the bidirectional stretching of sheet. The combined phenomenon of heat and mass transport is accounted. The Cattaneo-Christov model of heat and mass diffusion is used to develop the expressions of energy and mass species. The first-order chemical reaction term in the mass species equation is considered. The boundary layer assumptions lead to the governing mathematical model. The homotopic simulation is adopted to visualize the results of the dimensionless flow equations. The graphs of velocities, temperature, and concentration show the effects of different arising parameters. A numerical benchmark is presented to visualize the convergent values of the computed results. The results show that the concentration and temperature fields are decayed for the Cattaneo^Christov theory of heat and mass diffusion.

Deep Learning Based Signal Detection for Quadrature Spatial Modulation System

With the development of communication systems, modulation methods are becoming more and more diverse. Among them, quadrature spatial modulation(QSM) is considered as one method with less capacity and high efficiency. In QSM, the traditional signal detection methods sometimes are unable to meet the actual requirement of low complexity of the system. Therefore, this paper proposes a signal detection scheme for QSM systems using deep learning to solve the complexity problem. Results from the simulations show that the bit error rate performance of the proposed deep learning-based detector is better than that of the zero-forcing(ZF) and minimum mean square error(MMSE) detectors, and similar to the maximum likelihood(ML) detector. Moreover, the proposed method requires less processing time than ZF, MMSE,and ML.

Background:Road traffic accidents are not a new phenomenon,rather ifs a disturbing occurrence which shows no sign of abating very ***,it remains one of those public health issues which even the most educated and civilized populations tend to ignore,primarily for the thrill of *** study aims to identify the outcome associated with vehicular accidents and its association with socio-demographic ***:This is a retrospective,record-based study of victims of road traffic accidents admitted in a tertiary care hospital in Nashik,*** data would include records from the 2018 to *** variables will include the socio-demographic factors,site of injuries and its severity.A descriptive analysis would be done by SPSS software to find out the prevalence of vehicular accidents,association of site of injury with age and severity of the *** approval would be taken before the initiation of the ***:A total of486 victims ofRTAs were included from the medical records of the casualty of a tertiary care hospital,out of which 330 were from the year 2018 and 156 from 2019.A look at the sociodemographic profiles of the RTA victims showed that females comprised only 19.3%(2018)and 18.6%(2019)of the total victims in road traffic accidents,while majority,80.6%(2018)and 81.4%(2019)were males during the same ***,we can also observe that both in 2018(38.5%)and 2019(50.6%)most of the road traffic accidents among the victims were of moderate ***:The need of the hour is to bring about a change from within through self-reflection of lawmakers,strict implementation of traffic rules and guidelines with hefty fines,lockup,and criminal punishment to habitual wrongdoers.

Darcy-Forchheimer flow of variable conductivity Jeffrey liquid with Cattaneo-Christov heat flux theory

The role of the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux theory in the two-dimensional laminar flow of the Jeffrey liquid is discussed with a vertical sheet. The salient feature in the energy equation is accounted due to the implementation of the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux. A liquid with variable thermal conductivity is considered in the Darcy-Forchheimer porous space. The mathematical expressions of momentum and energy are coupled due to the presence of mixed convection. A highly nonlinear coupled system of equations is tackled with the homotopic algorithm. The convergence of the homotopy expressions is calculated graphically and numerically. The solutions of the velocity and temperature are expressed for various values of the Deborah number, the ratio of the relaxation time to the retardation time, the porosity parameter, the mixed convective parameter, the Darcy-Forchheimer parameter, and the conductivity parameter. The results show that the velocity and temperature are higher in Fourier＇s law of heat conduction cases in comparison with the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model.

Assessment of Sea Water Inundation Along Daboo Creek Area in Indus Delta Region, Pakistan

Indus Deltaic Region(IDR) in Pakistan is an erosion vulnerable coast due to the high deep water wave energy. Livelihood of millions of people depends on the fisheries and mangrove forests in IDR. IDR consists of many creeks where Daboo is a major creek located at southeast of the largest city of Pakistan, Karachi. Unfortunately, there has been no detailed study to analyze the damages of sea water intrusion at a large temporal and spatial scale. Therefore, this study is designed to estimate the effects of sea water inundation based on changing sea water surface salinity and sea surface temperature(SST). Sea surface salinity and SST data from two different surveys in Daboo creek during 1986 and 2010 are analyzed to estimate the damages and extent of sea water intrusion. Mean salinity has increased 33.33% whereas mean SST decreased 13.79% from 1987 to 2010. Spatio-temporal analysis of creek area using LANDSAT 5 Thematic mapper(TM) data for the years 1987 and 2010 shows significant amount of erosion at macro scale. Creek area has increased approximately 9.93%(260.86 m^2 per year) which is roughly equal to 60 extensive sized shrimp farms. Further Land Use Land Cover(LULC) analyses for years 2001 and 2014 using LANDSAT 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus(ETM+) has indicated 42.3% decrease in cultivated land. Wet mud flats have spread out at the inner mouth of creek with enormous increase of 123.3%. Significant sea water intrusion has increased the area of barren land by 37.9%. This also resulted in overall decrease of 6.7% in area covered by mangroves. Therefore, this study recorded a significant evidence of sea water intrusion in IDR that has caused serious damages to community living in the area, economical losses. Additionally, it has also changed the environment by reducing creek biological productivity as reported by earlier studies over other regions of the world.

Slip flow of Maxwell viscoelasticity-based micropolar nanoparticles with porous medium: a numerical study

This article presents the mass and heat transport aspects in viscoelastic nanofluid flows under the presence of velocity slip conditions. To explore the nonNewtonian behavior, a Maxwell viscoelasticity-based micropolar is considered. Moreover, a porous medium saturates the stretching sheet. A set of similarity variables is introduced to derive the dimensionless ordinary differential equations of velocity, concentration, and temperature profiles. The numerical solution is computed by using the MATLAB bvp4c package. The salient flow features of velocity, concentration, and temperature profiles are described and discussed through various graphs. It is observed that with an increase in the slip parameter, the micro-rotation velocity also increases. The temperature of nanoparticles gets maximum values by varying the viscoelastic parameter and the porosity parameter while an opposite trend is noted for the micro-rotation parameter. The local Nusselt number and the local Sherwood number increase by increasing the viscoelastic parameter, the porosity parameter, and the slip velocity parameter. The graphical computation is performed for a specified range of parameters, such as 0 ≤ M ≤ 2.5, 0 ≤σm ≤ 2.5, 0 ≤ K1 ≤ 1.5, 0.5 ≤ Pr ≤ 3.0, 0 ≤σ≤ 1.5, 0.5 ≤ Sc ≤ 2.0, 0.2 ≤ Nb ≤ 0.8, and 0.2 ≤ Nt ≤ 0.8.

In this paper, we explore the spanning simplicial complex of wheel graph Wn on vertex set [n]. Combinatorial properties of the spanning simplicial complex of wheel graph are discussed, which are then used to compute the f-vector and Hilbert series of face ring k[Δs(Wn)] for the spanning simplicial complex Δs(Wn). Moreover, the associated primes of the facet ideal IF(Δs(Wn)) are also computed.

Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) Dynamics in a Semi-Arid Watershed in Eastern Rajasthan, India Using Geospatial Tools

Land use/land cover (LULC) change analysis has become a unique approach in determining the extent of degradation of natural resources within a given period of time. Remote sensing and GIS techniques have proved to be efficient tools for mapping and analyzing LULC changes over the last few decades. LULC change analysis has been carried out in Ruparel watershed which is situated in Alwar district, Eastern Rajasthan, India, based on visual image interpretation and change detection analysis of multi-temporal satellite data pertaining to IRS-P6 LISS III data of 2004 (Path-Row 95:52), IRS-P6 LISS III of 2014 (Path-Row 95:52) and IRS-R2A LISS III data of 2021. Visual image interpretation led to the delineation of 13 LULC classes using ArcGIS 10.5 software and include categories such as cultivated land, fallow land dense forest, open forest, degraded forest, open scrub, gullied/ravenous land, settlement/built-up land, River/waterbody, dry waterbody/dry river, plantation, barren/rocky/stony waste, and stone quarry. Results of the analysis depict significant LULC changes that have taken place in the area from 2004 to 2021. LULC categories such as cultivated land and settlement/built-up land have reported major changes in terms of their increase with 56.42 km2 (4.63%) and 31.9 km2 (2.63%) respectively primarily because of an increase in population. Likewise, the dense forest has reported a decrease of 33.78 km2 (2.78%) in its area and has been converted into degraded forest i.e., 32.04 km2 (2.64%) and open forest 2.85 km2 (0.24%) due to increased human exploitation of forest resources and mining activities taking place within the forested area. The study area needs the immediate attention of policymakers and stakeholders as the study area being part of the National Capital Region (NCR) will see excessive in-migration of the population in coming years which will further deplete the precious resources in the area.
