Po.ycystic o.ary syndro.e (PCo.) is o.e o. the mo.t co.mo. endo.rine diso.ders o. wo.en at repro.uctive age and the majo. cause o. ano.ulato.y infertility. The aim o. this study is to.determine ho.mo.al imbalance in wo.en with PCo. in teaching ho.pitals in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Samples o. 110 females (50 freshly diagno.ed PCo. subjects and 60 healthy subjects) between the ages o. 25 - 45 years o.d were co.lected fro. Ekiti State University Teaching Ho.pital, Ado.Ekiti and Federal Teaching Ho.pital, Ido.Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Serum Luteinizing Ho.mo.e (LH), Fo.licle Stimulating Ho.mo.e (FSH), To.al Testo.tero.e, Pro.actin, Pro.estero.e, Estradio. and Insulin were evaluated in subjects’ blo.d sample using Enzyme-Linked Immuno.o.bent assay (ELISA). Results o.tained were subjected to.statistical analysis (p o. subjects sho.ed significant increase (p o.centratio.s o. To.al Testo.tero.e, Insulin, LH, Estradio. and LH/FSH ratio. while FSH and pro.estero.e co.centratio.s sho.ed significant decrease (p o.pariso. with the healthy co.tro. gro.p. Ho.ever, there was no.significant difference in the co.centratio. o. Pro.actin when co.pared with the healthy co.tro. gro.p. Also. the PCo. subjects’ age at Menarche was significantly decreased (p > 0.05) when co.pared with the healthy co.tro. gro.p. Ho.mo.al values o.tained in this study indicates ho.mo.al imbalance in PCo.. Further investigatio. into.no.el helpful markers is required as it might help in achieving the therapeutical target in PCo. management research.

Stro.e is a leading cause o. mo.bidity and mo.tality wo.ldwide. o.idative stress which is as a result o. increased activity o. free radicals and decreased antio.idant mechanism plays a majo. ro.e in the patho.enesis o. stro.e. This study determined the plasma level o. malo.dialdehyde (MDA), a marker o. lipid pero.idatio. and o.idative stress and enzymatic Antio.idants namely, supero.ide dismutase (So.), Glutathio.e pero.idase (GPx), and Catalase (CAT) in sixty stro.e patients o. bo.h sexes attending Wesley Guide Ho.pital, o.afemi Awo.o.o.University Teaching Ho.pital, Ilesa, o.un State. An equal number o. healthy subjects were used as co.tro.. The result o. this study revealed a significantly (p o. MDA in stro.e patients when co.pared with the co.tro. subjects. Plasma level o. So. in stro.e patients was significantly higher (p o.tro. subjects while plasma GPx and CAT level were fo.nd to.be significantly lo.er (p o.e patients than the co.tro. subjects. Itagunmo.i go.d o.e in Atakumo.a West LGA in the State o. o.un Nigeria using cyanide so.utio. o.tained fro. cassava and co.mercially available so.ium cyanide analar grade. Cyanide so.utio. extracted fro. cassava variety TMS 30572 leaves o.tained fro. o.afemi Awo.o.o.University (o.A.U) Research and Teaching Farm was disco.ered to.have the highest free cyanide (CN-) amo.g the ten different cassava varieties evaluated. The samples were expo.ed to.varied co.centratio.s fro. 0.25% to.2.00% CN at intervals o. 0.25% CN fro. cyanide so.utio. o.tained fro. cassava and co.mercially available so.ium cyanide analar grade. The result sho.ed that after 24 ho.rs o. cyanidatio. and co.centratio. o. 2% CN- o. 10 g go.d o.e co.centrate, the analar grade so.ium cyanide yielded 0.123 g o. go.d while the cassava based cyanide yielded 0.098 g. The cyanidatio. perfo.mance o. analar grade so.ium cyanide is greater than cassava based cyanide by a difference o. 0.25%.

The sediments o. crater lakes were o.e o. the ideal archives fo. high-reso.utio. paleo.nviro.mental reco.structio.. This paper co.lected sedimentary reco.ds o. 21 crater lakes in mo.so.nal China and systematically discussed the geo.raphical distributio. and fo.matio. ages o. these crater lakes. Sediment pro.enance o. crater lakes and its influencing facto.s were analyzed， and paleo.nviro.mental sequences and human activities reco.ds o. different timescales reco.structed by crater lake sediments in mo.so.nal China were reviewed. The fo.lo.ing po.nts are highlighted: (1) Crater lakes in mo.so.nal China have been sho.n to.preserve co.tinuo.s lo.g-time sediments that can exceed even 400 kyr， altho.gh the chro.o.o.y o. so.e sediments in so.thern China is debated and there were currently fewer lo.g time reco.ds fro. no.theastern China; (2) The sediment pro.enance o. crater lakes in no.thern China (e.g. aeo.ian inputs) was different fro. that in so.thern China (e.g. the vo.canic-lake rim)， due to.the different lo.atio. and depo.itio. co.ditio.s o. crater lakes; (3) Crater lake sediments have been used to.reco.struct the histo.y o. climate changes o. different timescales， but reco.structio. studies o. glacial-interglacial and decadal-annual scale reco.ds and studies o. spatial co.pariso.s o. reco.ds o. different timescales still need to.be strengthened; (4) The anthro.o.enic signals， which include cultivatio.， lo.ging， and industrial activity， are well do.umented in crater lake sediments fro. different areas and can therefo.e pro.ide key evidence fo. the study o. the Anthro.o.ene. Backgro.nd: Self-cleaning o. ears with different o.jects is a co.mo. practice amo.g scho.l children with scanty repo.t in literature. Aim: The aim o. this study was to.determine the prevalence and pro.ile o. self-ear cleaning amo.g scho.l children. Metho.s: It was a cro.s-sectio.al institutio.al-based study which was carried o.t amo.g scho.l children in Ekiti, so.th western Nigeria fro. January 2017, to.March 2017. Results: A to.al o. 174 students participated in this study. Their age ranged between 13 and 17 years. The highest number o. participant was fo.nd at the age o. 15 years. o.e hundred and eighteen (67.8%) o. them had carried o.t self ear cleaning. Perso.al hygiene was the co.mo.est reaso. fo. self ear cleaning in 28.8% o. the students. Co.to. buds were mo.tly used by the respo.dents in 51.7% o. them. Injury to.the external audito.y canal (EAC) was the mo.t reco.ded co.plicatio.s. Co.clusio.: The o.tco.e o. this study sho.s that self-ear cleaning practices were co.mo. amo.g scho.l children with a prevalence o. 67.8%. Co.to. buds were the co.mo.est o.jects used. Avo.dable co.plicatio.s were repo.ted amo.g respo.dents. There is a need to.intensify effo.ts o. public enlightenment pro.ramme and the establishment o. scho.l health pro.ramme in o.r vario.s scho.ls.
