Despite great efforts in experimental and clinical research, the prognosis of pancreatic cancer (PC) has not changed significantly for decades. Detection of pre-invasive lesions or early-stage PC with small resectable cancers in asymptomatic individuals remains one of the most promising approaches to substantially improve the overall outcome of PC. Therefore, screening programs have been proposed to identify curable lesions especially in individuals with a familial or genetic predisposition for PC. In this regard, Canto et al recently contributed an important article comparing computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and endoscopic ultrasound for the screening of 216 asymptomatic high-risk individuals (HRI). Pancreatic lesions were detected in 92 of 216 asymptomatic HRI (42.6%). The high diagnostic yield in this study raises several questions that need to be answered of which two will be discussed in detail in this commentary: First: which imaging test should be performed? Second and most importantly: what are we doing with incidentally detected pancreatic lesions? Which ones can be observed and which ones need to be resected?

The radiation shielding efficiency of material depends upon photon attenuation, exposure buildup factors and neutron removal capacity. A newly developed Pb-free gadolinium-based glasses in compositions(80-x) B_2O_3-10 Si O_2-10 Ca O-x Gd_2O_3(where x = 15, 20, 25, 30 and35 mol%) had completely been investigated for their shielding efficiency with Geant4 simulation for mass attenuation coefficients and neutron total macroscopic cross section and by calculating exposure buildup *** exposure buildup factors for photon energy from 0.015 to 15 Me V had been calculated up to 40 mean free paths using five factors geometric progression method. The mass attenuation coefficients of the Pb-free glasses were simulated for energies from 223 to 2614 ke V and compared with the possible available experimental results. The neutron shielding efficiency of these glasses was discussed by calculating neutron total macroscopic cross section for energies from 1 e V to 14.1 Me V. Present investigations are found to be very useful for applications in nuclear engineering.

Fluid-structure interaction(FSI)has a strong relation with layout of fluid delivery *** is liable to cause local ***,FSI analysis is necessary in many cases,especially for flexible pipe *** modeling consists of eight governing equations and then completely solved via the finite volume method(FVM).Friction,Poisson and joint couplings were discussed in detail to reveal the influence of a Z-shaped pipe with different supports and elbows on *** the feasibility of solving FSI by FVM was verified,the different effects of free,fixed and elastic supports on FSI in the commonly used and simplified Z-shaped pipe were further *** indicated that different support stiffness lead to various FSI *** coupling occurs at the elbow and less support is considered,then the pipe has a relatively large amplitude and complex pressure fluctuation.

This paper reports the improvement of electrical,ferroelectric and endurance of Hf_(0.5)Zr_(0.5)O_(2)(HZO)thinfilm capacitors by implementing W *** W/HZO/W capacitor shows excellent pristine 2 P_(r)values of 45.1 gC/cm^(2)at±6 V,which are much higher than those of TiN/HZO/W(34.4μC/cm^(2))and W/HZO/TiN(26.9μC/cm^(2))***,the maximum initial 2 P_(r)value of W/HZO/W capacitor can reach as high as 57.9μC/cm^(2)at±7.5 *** strong ferroelectric polarization effects are ascribed to the W electrode with a fairly low thermal expansion coefficient which provides a larger in-plane tensile strain compared with TiN electrode,allowing for enhancement of o-phase ***,the W/HZO/W capacitor also exhibits higher endurance,smaller wake-up effect(10.1%)and superior fatigue properties up to 1.5×10^(10)cycles compared to the TiN/HZO/W and W/HZO/TiN *** improvements of W/HZO/W capacitor are mainly due to the decreased leakage current by more than an order of magnitude compared to the W/HZO/TiN *** results demonstrate that capping electrode material plays an important role in the enhancement of o-phase formation,reduces oxygen vacancies,mitigates wake-up effect and improves reliability.

Trilayered Sm2Co7/Fe/Sm2Co7 spring exchange magnets are fabricated by dc magnetron sputtering on MgO substrates. Very thin layers （0.3-0.7 nm） of Cr and Ti are added at the interfaces of the two magnetic phases. The thickness of StucCo7 is kept at 20nm and Fe at 6nm while the thickness of Cr and Ti are varied as 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7nm. The base pressure of sputtering chamber is kept below 10^-7 Torr and Ar pressure at 3-8m Torr. The samples are characterized by x-ray diffraction （XRD） and SQUID magnetometer. We report improvement in exchange coupling of nonacomposite magnets by addition of thin layers of Cr at interfaces.
