Identifying“superspreaders”of disease is a pressing concern for society during pandemics such as *** represent a group of people who have much more social contacts than *** widespread deployment of WLAN infrastructure enables non-invasive contact tracing via people’s ubiquitous mobile *** technology offers promise for detecting *** this paper,we propose a general framework for WLAN-log-based superspreader *** our framework,we first use WLAN logs to construct contact graphs by jointly considering human symmetric and asymmetric ***,we adopt three vertex centrality mea-surements over the contact graphs to generate three groups of superspreader ***,we leverage SEIR simulation to determine groups of superspreaders among these candidates,who are the most critical individuals for the spread of disease based on the simulation *** have implemented our framework and evaluate it over a WLAN dataset with 41 million log entries from a large-scale *** evaluation shows superspread-ers exist on university *** change over the first few weeks of a semester,but stabilize throughout the rest of the *** data also demonstrate that both symmetric and asymmetric contact tracing can dis-cover superspreaders,but the latter performs better with daily contact ***,the evaluation shows no consistent differences among three vertex centrality measures for long-term(i.e.,weekly)contact graphs,which necessitates the inclusion of SEIR simulation in our *** believe our proposed framework and these results can provide timely guidance for public health administrators regarding effective testing,intervention,and vaccination policies.

A New Simulation of Track Structure of Low-Energy Electrons in Liquid Water:considering the condensed-Phase Effect on Electron Elastic Scattering

A new Monte carlo simulation of the track structure of low-energy electrons （〈10keV） in liquid water is presented. The feature of the simulation is taken into consideration of the condensed-phase effect of liquid water on electron elastic scattering with the use of the champion model, while the dielectric response formalism incorporating the optical-data model developed by Emfietzoglou et al. is applied for calculating the electron inelastic scattering. The spatial distributions of energy deposition and inelastic scattering events of low-energy electrons with different primary energies in liquid water are calculated and compared with other theoretical evaluations. The present work shows that the condensed-phase effect of liquid water on electron elastic scattering may be of the influence on the fraction of absorbed energy and distribution of inelastic scattering events at lower primary energies, which also indicate potential effects on the DNA damage induced by low-energy electrons.

Erectile dysfunction （ED） commonly results from endothelial dysfunction of the systemic vasculature. Although phosphodiesterase type 5 （PDE-5） inhibitors are effective at treating most cases of ED, they must be taken routinely and are ineffectual for a meaningful number of men. In recent years gene and stem cell-based therapies targeted at the penile endothelium have been gaining momentum in preclinical studies. These early studies reveal that gene and stem cell-based therapies may be both enduring and efficacious, and may eventually lead to a cure for ED. The following review will highlight our current understanding of endothelial-specific gene and stem cell-based therapies performed to date in a number of experimental animal models.

Development of a Universal Internet-Based Prevention Program for Ecstasy and New Psychoactive Substances

In recent years, the Internet has received increasing recognition as an effective means of facilitating public health interventions. In particular, delivering prevention for substance use to school students via the Internet appears to be an area of great potential. The climate Schools: Ecstasy and Emerging Drugs Module, a school-based prevention program, facilitated by the Internet, was developed to address the use of ecstasy and new and emerging drugs (Emerging Psychoactive Substances or Novel Psychoactive Substances). This four-lesson course was designed to be delivered to Australian adolescents (aged 15 to 16 years) during their standard health education classes at school, and is based on a harm-minimisation and social influence approach. The program was developed in response to the important public health challenge of new and emerging drugs as well as to address the prevention of ecstasy use among young people. To our knowledge, this will be the first school- and Internet-based prevention program specifically targeting these substances. This paper describes the process involved in developing this new Internet-based substance use prevention program.

Objective: To describe neurologic outcomes in children infected with HIV in t he era of highly active anti- retroviral therapy (HAART), including rates of pr ogressive HIV encephalopathy (PHE) and clinical sequelae among PHE survivors. St udy design: Neurobehavior and school placement was assessed prospectively in the year 2000 in 126 children infected with HIV. PHE, developmental delay, and atte ntion deficit disorder (ADHD) were the main outcome variables analyzed. Predicto rs of PHE were assessed in controlled analysis among age- matched controls. Res ults: The rate of active PHE in 2000 was 1.6% (n = 2), and the prevalence of a rrested PHE was 10% (n = 13). Residual motor and cognitive sequelae and need f or special education was found in the majority of survivors. PHE relapse occurre d in 3 (23% ) children with previously arrested PHE. Viral load (VL) was the on ly significant factor associated with *** or PHE was not associated with ADH D. Isolated developmental delay was not associated with HIV. conclusions: PHE is an infrequent and reversible complication of HIV infection that responds to HAA RT and that may relapse if control of the virus is lost. children with arrested PHE show higher rates of residual neurologic, cognitive, and scholastic impairme nts compared with children who never had PHE. children with arrested PHE are the group of children with HIV infectionmost at risk for PHE, in the form of a rela pse.

In forest soils, ectomycorrhizal fungi establish a mutualistic symbiosis with tree roots. The mutualistic fungi trade host photoassimilates against soil nitrogen and phosphorus. Differentiation of symbiotic roots induces extensive cell wall architectural modifications in the host apoplastic space. The origin of enzymes involved in these cell wall modifications has been the subject of debate for several *** ectomycorrhizal basidiomycete Laccaria bicolor has a restricted set of carbohydrate-active enzymes(cAZymes) degrading plant cell wall polysaccharides. We speculate that several of the symbiosis-induced cAZymes are involved in the remodeling of the host apoplastic space. Here, we characterize the sole GH5 endoglucanase with a cellulose-binding motif(cBM1) domain(LbGH5) identified in the genome of L. *** showed that the LbGH5 gene is induced five-fold in ectomycorrhizal roots using qPcR and RNA-Seq;RNAi mutants with a decreased expression of LbGH5 have a lower ability to form ectomycorrhizal roots;the purified recombinant LbGH5 displayed enzymatic activity as endoglucanase;In situ localization of LbGH5 in ectomycorrhizal roots demonstrated that the enzyme accumulates in hyphal cell walls forming the mantle and Hartig net. In addition, the other highly induced polygalacturonase-LbGH28 was characterized. LbGH28 gene is upregulated five-fold in ectomycorrhizal roots by qPcR. The knock-down RNAi mutants are failed to form Hartig net in ectomycorrhizal roots. However, the overexpression of LbGH28 in *** is ability to induce more lateral roots and ectomycorrhiza comparing with wild type. We purified recombinant LbGH28 which showing polygalacturonase activity in vitro. LbGH28 is also secreted in cell wall of Hartig net and mantle by indirect immunofluorescence and immunogold *** together, these data suggest that ectomycorrhizal fungi secreted apoplastic effectors to remodeling plant cell wall for mycorrhizal formation.
