Correlation of Hamstring Tendon Size in Pre-Operative MrI Measurement with Intra-Operative Graft Size in Primary Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction

Background: The size of Hamstring autograft of less than 8.0 mm in ACL re-construction is one of the key factors that may contribute to the failure of the graft. In this study, we are going to assess the correlation of pre-operative MrI measurement of Hamstring tendons with the intra-operative ACL graft. Thus, it may help surgeons to anticipate the needs for graft augmentation should the final graft size be smaller than expected. Methods: We retrospectively re-viewed 41 cases of ACL reconstructions in which MrI were done pre-operatively, in Hospital Pakar Sultanah Fatimah (HPSF), Muar between January 2019 until December 2022. MrI measurements of Hamstring tendon (semitendinosus: ST, and gracilis) were done by a radiologist, and the in-tra-operative notes were reviewed for the final graft size. Pearson’s correlation coefficients were calculated to determine the relationship between graft size and tendon cross-sectional area. The intraclass correlation (ICC) by using two-way mixed model with type consistency, the reliability based on average measure was 0.41 (95% CI: ?0.10, 0.69). A p-value red sig-nificant. results: Of 105 patients with primary ACL reconstruction done be-tween January 2019 to December 2022, only 41 patients were included in this study. There was fair correlation (p = 0.048) between pre-operative MrI measurement and the graft diameter intra-operatively. The mean of 17.0 mm of combined diameter of ST and gracilis tendon in MrI may results in graft diameter of 8.3 mm. There was also positive correlation between patients’ height and the intra-operative graft size. Conclusion: These results showed good correlation between pre-operative MrI measurement of Hamstring ten-don size with the intra-operative graft size, hence it is a reliable tool to predict the Hamstring autograft size in ACL reconstruction.

Skin cancer,a prevalent malignancy worldwide,poses significant health concerns owing to its increasing ***,a natural cellular process,is a pivotal event in skin cancer and has advantageous and detrimental *** duality has prompted extensive investigations into medical interventions targeting autophagy modulation for their substantial therapeutic *** systematic review aimed to investigate the relationship between skin cancer and autophagy and the contribution and mechanism of autophagy modulators in skin *** outlined the effectiveness and safety of targeting autophagy as a promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of skin *** comprehensive review identified a diverse array of autophagy modulators with promising potential for the treatment of skin *** of these compounds demonstrates efficacy through distinct physiological mechanisms that have been elucidated in ***,findings from a literature search indicated that none of the natural,synthetic,or semisynthetic compounds exhibited notable adverse effects in either human or animal ***,this review offers novel mechanistic and therapeutic perspectives on the targeted modulation of autophagy in skin cancer.

Floods are one of nature's most destructive disasters because of the immense damage to land,buildings,and human *** is difficult to forecast the areas that are vulnerable to flash flooding due to the dynamic and complex nature of the flash ***,earlier identification of flash flood susceptible sites can be performed using advanced machine learning models for managing flood *** this study,we applied and assessed two new hybrid ensemble models,namely Dagging and random Subspace(rS)coupled with Artificial Neural Network(ANN),random Forest(rF),and Support Vector Machine(SVM)which are the other three state-of-the-art machine learning models for modelling flood susceptibility maps at the Teesta river basin,the northern region of *** application of these models includes twelve flood influencing factors with 413 current and former flooding points,which were transferred in a GIS *** information gain ratio,the multicollinearity diagnostics tests were employed to determine the association between the occurrences and flood influential *** the validation and the comparison of these models,for the ability to predict the statistical appraisal measures such as Freidman,Wilcoxon signed-rank,and t-paired tests and receiver Operating Characteristic Curve(rOC)were *** value of the Area Under the Curve(AUC)of rOC was above 0.80 for all *** flood susceptibility modelling,the Dagging model performs superior,followed by rF,the ANN,the SVM,and the rS,then the several benchmark *** approach and solution-oriented outcomes outlined in this paper will assist state and local authorities as well as policy makers in reducing flood-related threats and will also assist in the implementation of effective mitigation strategies to mitigate future damage.

In this study,a set of coupled multi-media compartments(i.e.,sediment,soil,water and vegetable)was used to assess ecological and health risks from the ingestion of 11 PTEs(Pb,Cd,Cr,As,Hg,Cu,Zn,Ni,Co,Fe,and Mn)and their transportation routes in the water-soil-plant system from the coastal Bhola Island,*** mean concentrations of Cd,Pb,and Co for soil and Cd,Co,and As for sediment were higher than their reference *** contrast,Cd,Pb,and Ni concentrations in water surpassed the acceptable limits set by national and international laws and were considered unsuitable for drinking *** demonstrated high Pb and Cd contents,demonstrating a potential food safety risk to the *** of principal component analysis(PCA)revealed that Cd,Pb,Hg,Cu,Ni and Zn sources were likely to be anthropogenic,especially agro-farming inputs,whereas the Fe,As,Cr,Mn,and Co sources were similar to natural ***,Cd,Pb and Co are the key contaminants in the study area and pose the elevated health and ecological risks in the coastal *** and Pb exhibited higher ecological risks in soils and sediments,as Pb had the highest bio-accessibility(BA;0.02±0.003)and Cd possessed a high bioaccumulation factor(BCF;0.004±0.006).The self-organizing map analysis recognized three spatial patterns which are good agreement with *** average hazard index(HI)values for soil were above the permissible level(HI>1)set by the respective agency;two times higher HI values were noticed for children than adults,suggesting children are highly susceptible to health *** monitoring and source controls for Cd and Pb,along with agro-farming management practices,need to be implemented to reduce the risk of PTE contamination to the aquatic ecosystem and its inhabitants.

The Naf river estuary is one of the most productive ecological ecosystems in Bangladesh providing an important feeding area for fishes and other aquatic ***,detailed information on macrobenthic communities is rarely available in this *** study focused on the seasonal and spatial variability of macrobenthic community structure with their biomass and functional *** total,fortyseven taxa were identified under nine major groups and seven functional feeding *** macrobenthic taxa,Polychaeta was dominant in both seasons and all over the estuary contributing 60%of total *** mean abundance of macrobenthos was higher during the pre-monsoon(2 972±1 994 inds./m^2)than the monsoon(1 572±361 inds./m^2)being maximum at mid-estuary region and minimum at upper and lower estuary *** the diversity indices,density(P=0.01,P=0.003),the number of taxa(P=0.000 3,P=0.000 9)and Margalef′s Index(P=0.000 4,P=0.001)of macrobenthos were significantly different among stations and ***-Weiner index(P=0.009,P=0.12)and Pielou’s evenness index(P=0.03,P=0.14)had significant differences among stations but not among *** analysis suggested that distribution of macrofauna is strongly influenced by *** the feeding types,carnivorous were found to be dominant at the upper and mid-estuarine regions,and herbivorous were at lower estuarine *** species were dominant in both *** have shown to be the most abundant feeding type in terms of biomass though herbivores were highest during monsoon.

Because of wearing and washing the knit rib fabrics are highly vulnerable to lose their dimensional *** work investigated the physical properties of 1×1 knit rib fabrics with or without *** fabrics made from 100%cotton yarn were compared with the fabrics made from cotton/elastane(95%/5%)blended yarns by Lisky circular knitting ***,shrinkage,spirality,and bursting strength were tested by the ICI pilling test box,Wascator,and TruBurst machine to demonstrate the effect of elastane on fabric *** results showed that elastane has a noteworthy impact on the physical properties of 1×1 knit rib fabrics which can make the fabrics more durable and dimensionally stable in practice.

Sagardari union is facing groundwater crisis because of contaminations from agriculture and urban sewage,which bring a considerable change in water *** view of this,hydro-chemical analyses were undertaken on 35 groundwater samples and the following hydro-geochemical parameters,pH,total dissolved solids(TDS),total hardness(TH),electrical conductivity(EC),cations and anions,were *** the analytical results,it is found that pH value was lower than WHO drinking water standard and the middledownstream portions of the investigation region show higher *** piper plot indicates that the groundwater in Sagardari falls in the categories of NaClHCO3 hydro-chemical *** TH in groundwater was detected,but still in an acceptable *** addition,salinity and arsenic ratio are higher and moderately higher,*** spatial distribution of Groundwater Quality Index(GWQI)was determined by geo-statistical modelling of Sagardari *** study provides information and supports the administration which to make better groundwater utilization and quality control in the Sagardari union.

Annual pattern of zooplankton communities and their environmental response in a subtropical maritime channel system in the northern Bay of Bengal, Bangladesh

Zooplankton plays an important role in aquatic food webs by fluxing of energy from primary producer to subsequent trophic levels in the food chain. The annual pattern of zooplankton communities and potential environmental drivers were studied in the Kohelia channel, Bangladesh from summer 2014 to spring *** were collected using net at a depth of 1 m. A total of 32 species belonged to 18 orders, 27 families and 15 taxonomic groups were identified. Of these species, 22 distributed in all four seasons of which 8 were dominant and highly contributing to the total communities. Species number peaked in summer next to winter and fall in spring while maximum abundance was in summer and minimum in spring. Multivariate analyses showed that there was a clear annual pattern in the zooplankton communities. Species diversity and evenness peaked in spring but fall in autumn while the high value of species richness was found in winter. Biological-environmental best matching（BIO-ENV） analyses conformed that community pattern of zooplankton was mainly driven by transparency salinity, and temperature individually or combined with water nutrients. These results demonstrate that annual pattern of the zooplankton community shaped by channel environmental factors in subtropical channel ecosystems, thus might be used for community-based subtropical coastal water bioassessment.
