Background:The increasing burden of Non-Communicable Diseases(NCDs)in Bangladesh underscores the importance of strengthening primary health care *** this study,we examined the barriers and facilitators to engaging Community Health Workers(CHWs)for NCDs prevention and control in ***:We used multipronged approaches,including *** analyses using a literature review,key personnel and stakeholders’consultative meetings,and exploratory studies.A grounded theory approach was used for qualitative data collection from health facilities across three districts in *** conducted in-depth interviews with CHWs(Health Inspector;Community Health Care Provider;Health Assistant and Health supervisor)(n=4);key informant interviews with central level health policymakers/managers(n=15)and focus group discussions with CHWs(4 FGDs;total n=29).Participants in a stakeholder consultative meeting included members from the government(n=4),non-government organisations(n=2),private sector(n=1)and universities(n=2).Coding of the qualitative data and identification of themes from the transcripts were carried out and thematic approach was used for data ***:The CHWs in Bangladesh deliver a wide range of public health *** also provide several NCDs specific services,including screening,provisional diagnosis,and health education and counselling for common NCDs,dispensing basic medications,and referral to relevant health *** services are being delivered from the sub-district health facility,community clinics and urban health *** participants identified key challenges and barriers,which include lack of NCD specific guidelines,inadequate training,excessive workload,inadequate systems-level support,and lack of logistics supplies and ***,the facilitating factors to engaging CHWs included government commitment and program priority,development of NCD related policies and strategies,establishment of NCD corners,community su

Delivery of public health services by community health workers(CHWs)in primary health care settings in China:a systematic review(1996–2016)

Background:With about 22 million adult smokers,Bangladesh needs strong measures that would promote smoking *** data from Wave 2 of the International Tobacco Control(ITC)survey,this study examined the factors associated with intention to quit smoking among Bangladeshi ***:Data from Wave 2 of the International Tobacco Control(ITC)survey in Bangladesh,a face to face survey of adult smokers,were *** the ITC survey,households were sampled using a stratified multistage design and interviewed using a structured ***:Of the respondents(N=2982),most were male(96%),married(80%),and Muslim(83%);33%were illiterate and 54%were aged below *** two-thirds were from areas outside Dhaka,78%smoked cigarettes exclusively;and 36%had an intention to quit smoking in the *** study identified several predictors,comparable to other international studies,of intention to quit smoking:area of residence,number of cigarettes smoked daily,previous quit attempt,visiting a doctor in the past,having child aged 5 or below at home,perceived benefit from quitting,being worried about own health,knowledge of sHs,not enjoying smoking and workplace smoking ***:These findings suggest that the prevalence of intention to quit smoking is lower among Bangladeshi smokers than those among smokers in developed ***,the factors relating to quit intentions among Bangladeshi smokers are comparable to those found in Western *** based tobacco control programs and policies should consider these predictors in the design of interventions to increase quitting among smokers in Bangladesh.

目的研究暴露于二手烟(secondhand smoke,sHs)环境的学龄前儿童尿液可替宁水平与家长吸烟行为之间的关联。方法2018年3月,通过整群抽样选取浙江省台州市的河头、螺洋、永丰和桐屿4个区,共招募379个家庭中有2~5岁儿童的吸烟家庭。对吸烟家长采取面对面访谈收集吸烟者基本人口学信息和吸烟行为,在得到监护人的书面知情同意书之后,收集儿童尿液样本。采用超高液相色谱-串联质谱法方法检测儿童尿液可替宁水平。采取多元线性回归方法分析尿液可替宁水平与家长吸烟行为的关联。结果儿童尿液的几何平均浓度为2.064 ng/mL(95%CI:1.895~2.241)。多因素回归分析发现:调整混杂因素后,儿童尿可替宁水平的潜在预测因素为吸烟家长吸烟频率(β=0.114,P=0.027)及吸烟家长平均每天在孩子面前的吸烟量(β=0.177,P=0.002)。吸烟家长各吸烟行为间的关联分析发现:吸烟频率、平均每天在家的吸烟量以及平均每天在孩子面前的吸烟量呈两两正相关(P<0.05);平均每天在孩子面前的吸烟量与屋内吸烟时通风呈负相关(r=-0.166,P=0.001)。结论儿童尿液可替宁水平与吸烟家长吸烟频率以及平均每天在孩子面前的吸烟量呈正相关,屋内吸烟时是否通风并不能减少儿童二手烟暴露程度。该研究为中国农村地区开展无烟家庭的健康教育和健康促进工作提供了有力证据。

The call for“Working Together to Build a Community of shared Future for Mankind”requires us to improve people’s health across the globe,while global health development entails a satisfactory answer to a fundamental question:“What is global health?”To promote research,teaching,policymaking,and practice in global health,we summarize the main points on the definition of global health from the Editorial Board Meeting of Global Health Research and Policy,convened in July 2019 in Wuhan,*** meeting functioned as a platform for free brainstorming,indepth discussion,and post-meeting *** the meeting,we have reached a consensus that global health can be considered as a general guiding principle,an organizing framework for thinking and action,a new branch of sciences and specialized discipline in the large family of public health and *** word“global”in global health can be subjective or objective,depending on the context and *** addition to dual-,multicountry and global,a project or a study conducted at a local area can be global if it(1)is framed with a global perspective,(2)intends to address an issue with global impact,and/or(3)seeks global solutions to an issue,such as frameworks,strategies,policies,laws,and *** this regard,global health is eventually an extension of“international health”by borrowing related knowledge,theories,technologies and methodologies from public health and *** global health is a concept that will continue to evolve,our conceptualization through group effort provides,to date,a comprehensive *** report helps to inform individuals in the global health community to advance global health science and practice,and recommend to take advantage of the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China.

[目的]了解上海市中心城区有5岁以下儿童家庭吸烟者的吸烟知识、信念、行为,为制定控烟干预措施和相关政策提供依据。[方法]采用结构式问卷进行基线数据的收集,对上海市2个社区572例研究对象(吸烟者及其5岁以下儿童各286人)进行入户问卷调查。[结果]吸烟者主要吸烟场所是家中居室,79.60%的父亲吸烟者和82.10%的非父亲吸烟者不在儿童附近吸烟。父亲吸烟者家庭有无吸烟控制规定及其对待家庭吸烟控制规定的态度与儿童二手烟暴露差异有统计学意义。86.80%的父亲吸烟者和86.62%的非父亲吸烟者过去1年内未尝试戒烟。[结论]应该在普及吸烟对儿童危害的知识时着重对父亲吸烟者进行教育;对有或无戒烟意愿的吸烟者采取不同干预方法,促进控烟工作有效地发展。

目的通过分析干预前后幼儿二手烟暴露的变化情况,为国内制定降低儿童二手烟暴露的干预措施提供实证依据。方法纳入临海市和路桥区共414户有5岁以下幼童的吸烟家庭,基线调查后分为干预组和对照组进行持续半年的干预研究。第2个月,第6个月,第12个月都对研究对象进行重复调查和幼儿尿样采集。采用混合效应线性模型对成人每天吸烟量和幼儿尿可替宁含量变化情况进行分析。结果干预组198人,对照组216人。吸烟者年龄以30～70岁间为主,身份主要为被调查幼童的父亲或爷爷。吸烟者每周吸烟支数与幼儿高尿可替宁呈现线性剂量-反应关系;干预组和对照组在基线、2月、6月和12月的每日吸烟支数存在差异(F=10.520,P时间=0.001);基线、2月、6月和12月的幼儿尿可替宁含量存在差异(F=5.010,P时间=0.026)。结论台州农村地区家庭成员吸烟支数越多,幼儿出现高尿可替宁的危险越大,对家庭内吸烟者进行持续性宣传或提供干预可有效降低幼儿的二手烟暴露水平。

Genesis of nanocrystalline Ho_2O_3 via thermal decomposition of holmium acetate: structure evolution and electrical conductivity properties

This study focuses on the preparation of nanostructured holmium oxide via the decomposition of holmium acetate precursor utilizing the non-isothermal strategy. Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) was used to follow up the various thermal events involved in the decomposition process. Dehydration completes approximately at 150℃, which is followed by the decomposition of the anhydrous acetate leading to the formation of holmium oxide. Based on the TGA results the acetate precursor was heated non-isothermally at the temperature range of 150 e700℃. The obtained solids were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction(XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPs), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-sEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). It is found that nanocrystalline Ho_2 O_3 starts to form at 500℃ and presents the only phase detected at the 500 e700℃ range. The electrical conductivity of the solids that form at the temperature range of 300 e700℃ was investigated. The obtained values were correlated with the observed structural modifications accompanying the heat treatment. The electrical conductivity of the Ho_2 O_3 samples prepared at 500, 600 and 700℃ reaches the values of 1.92 × 10^(-7), 1.61 × 10^(-7) and 8.33 × 10^(-8) Ω^(-1)cm^(-1) at a measuring temperature of 500℃, respectively. These values are potentially advantageous for high-resistivity devices.

Fast Degradation of Green Pollutants Through Nanonets and Nanofibers of the Al-Doped Zinc Oxide

In this study, series of nanolayered structures of Zn–Al LDHs were prepared by urea hydrolysis. Nanofibers and nanonets of the Al-doped ZnO were formed via the decomposition of the nanolayers under high pressure and temperature. Nanospheres were also prepared for comparison. The different morphologies of the prepared nanomaterials were confirmed by several techniques. An improvement for the optical properties of the doped zinc oxides was observed through narrowing of their band gap energies because of transforming the nanolayers to nanonets and nanofibers. The photocatalytic activities of the prepared nanomaterials were studied through photocatalytic degradation of the pollutants of acid green dyes. Complete decolorization and mineralization of green dyes happened in the presence of the nanolayers and nanospheres within 4–6 h,while the nanonets and the nanofibers achieved the complete decolorization and degradation of the dyes at shorter time 1.3 h. These results could be explained though the kinetic study of the photocatalytic degradation of dyes. It was concluded that the nanonets and the nanofibers were very effective for the photocatalytic degradation of pollutants.

synthesis of Dy_2O_3 nanoparticles via hydroxide precipitation: effect of calcination temperature

This work described the preparation of dysprosium oxide, Dy203, nanoparticles using the homogeneous precipitation method. Dy3＋ ions were precipitated using NaOH solution. The obtained product was filtered, dried, and then calcined for 1 h at the temperature range of 300-700 ℃ in static air. The calcination temperature of the Dy-precttrsor was chosen based on its decomposi- tion as indicated by the TGA analysis. The crystalline structure and surface morphology of the calcined solids were studied by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, field emission scanning electron microscopy （FE-sEM）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and X-ray pho- toelectron spectroscopy （XPs）. The obtained results revealed that Dy203 with crystallites size of 11-21 nm was formed at 500 ℃. such value increased to 25-37 nm for the sample calcined at 700 ℃.
