Electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution and sulfion(s^(2-))recycling are promising strategies for boosting H_(2)production and removing environmental ***,a nano-Ni-functionalized molybdenum disulfide(Mos_(2))nanosheet was assembled on steel mesh(Ni-Mos_(2)/sM)for use in sulfide oxidation reaction-assisted,energy-saving H_(2)*** and theoretical calculation results revealed that anchoring nano-Ni on high-surface-area slack Mos_(2)nanosheets not only optimized catalyst adsorption of polysulfides but also played an important role in promoting hydrogen evolution reaction kinetics by absorbing OH_(ad),thereby greatly enhancing the catalytic performance toward sulfide oxidation reaction and hydrogen evolution ***,the Ni/Mos^(2-)based hydrogen evolution reaction+sulfide oxidation reaction system achieved nearly 100%hydrogen production efficiency and only consumed 61%less power per kWh than the oxygen evolution reaction+hydrogen evolution reaction system,which suggested our proposed Ni-Mos_(2)and novel hydrogen production system are promising for sustainable energy production.

Lithium-sulfur(Li-s)batteries are one of the most promising modern-day energy supply systems because of their high theoretical energy density and low ***,the development of high-energy density Li-s batteries with high loading of flammable sulfur faces the challenges of electrochemical performance degradation owing to the shuttle effect and safety issues related to fire or explosion *** this work,we report a three-dimensional(3D)conductive nitrogen-doped carbon foam supported electrostatic self-assembled MXene-ammonium polyphosphate(NCF-MXene-APP)layer as a heat-resistant,thermally-insulated,flame-retardant,and freestanding host for Li-s batteries with a facile and costeffective synthesis ***,through the use of NCF-MXene-APP hosts that strongly anchor polysulfides,the Li-s batteries demonstrate outstanding electrochemical properties,including a high initial discharge capacity of 1191.6 mA h g^(-1),excellent rate capacity of 755.0 mA h g^(-1)at 1 C,and long-term cycling stability with an extremely low-capacity decay rate of 0.12%per cycle at 2 *** importantly,these batteries can continue to operate reliably under high temperature or flame attack ***,this study provides valuable insights into the design of safe high-performance Li-s batteries.

Owing to the distinctive structural characteristics,vanadium nitride(VN)is highly regarded as a catalyst for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in zinc-air batteries(ZABs).However,VN exhibits limited intrinsic ORR activity due to the weak adsorption ability to O-containing ***,the s-doped VN anchored on N,s-doped multi-dimensional carbon(s-VN/Co/Ns-MC)was constructed using the solvothermal and in-situ doping *** sulfur atoms into VN species alters the electron spin state of vanadium in the s-VN/Co/Ns-MC for regulating the adsorption energy of vanadium sites to oxygen *** introduced sulfur atoms polarize the V 3d_(z)^(2) electrons,shifting spin-down electrons closer to the Fermi level in the s-VN/Co/***,the introduction of sulfur atoms into VN species enhances the adsorption energy of vanadium sites for oxygen ****OOH dissociation transitions from being unspontaneous on the VN surface to a spontaneous state on the s-doped VN ***,the ORR barrier on the s-VN/Co/Ns-MC surface is *** s-VN/Co/Ns-MC demonstrates a higher half-wave potential and limiting current density compared to the VN/Co/*** s-VN/Co/Ns-MC-based liquid ZABs display a power density of 195.7 m W cm^(-2),a specific capacity of 815.7 m A h g^(-1),and a cycling stability exceeding 250 *** s-VN/Co/Ns-MC-based flexible ZABs are successfully employed to charge both a smart watch and a mobile *** approach holds promise for advancing the commercial utilization of VN-based catalysts in ZABs.

The monkeypox virus(mpox virus,MPXV)epidemic in 2022 has posed a significant public health ***,the evolutionary principles of MPXV remain largely ***,we examined the evolutionary patterns of protein sequences and codon usage in *** first demonstrated the signal of positive selection in OPG027,specifically in the CladeⅠlineage of ***,we discovered accelerated protein sequence evolution over time in the variants responsible for the 2022 ***,we showed strong epistasis between amino acid substitutions located in different *** codon adaptation index(CAI)analysis revealed that MPXV genes tended to use more non-preferred codons compared to human genes,and the CAI decreased over time and diverged between clades,with CladeⅠ>Ⅱa andⅡb-A>Ⅱ*** the decrease in fatality rate among the three groups aligned with the CAI pattern,it remains unclear whether this correlation was coincidental or if the deoptimization of codon usage in MPXV led to a reduction in fatality *** study sheds new light on the mechanisms that govern the evolution of MPXV in human populations.

Mountainous areas are of special hydrological concern because topography and atmospheric conditions can result in large and sudden floods,posing serious risks to water-related safety in neighbouring *** yarlung Zangbo(yZ)River basin is the largest river basin on the Tibetan Plateau(TP),but how floods will discharge in this basin and how the role of glacier melt in floods will change throughout the 21st-century under shared socioeconomic pathways scenarios(ssP2-4.5 and ssP5-8.5)remain ***,we comprehensively address this scientific question based on a well-validated large-scale glacier-hydrology *** results indicate that extreme floods was projected to increase in the yZ basin,and was mainly reflected in increased duration(4–10 d per decade)and intensity(153–985 m^(3)s^(−1)per decade).Glacier runoff was projected to increase(2–30 mm per decade)throughout the 21st-century,but there was also a noticeable decrease or deceleration in glacier runoff growth in the late first half of the century under the ssP2-4.5,and in the latter half of the century under the *** melt was projected to enhance the duration(12%–23%)and intensity(15%–21%)of extreme floods under both ssPs,which would aggravate the impact of future floods on the socioeconomics of the yZ *** effect was gradually overwhelmed by precipitation-induced floods from glacier areas to yZ *** study takes the yZ basin as a projection framework example to help enrich the understanding of future flood hazards in basins affected by rainfall-or meltwater across the TP,and to help policy-makers and water managers develop future plans.

sEMA7A belongs to the semaphorin family and is involved in the oncogenesis and tumor *** glycosylation has been intricately linked with immune escape and tumor ***7A is a highly glycosylated protein with five glycosylated *** underlying mechanisms of sEMA7A glycosylation and its contribution to immunosuppression and tumorigenesis are ***,we identify overexpression and aberrant N-glycosylation of sEMA7A in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma,and elucidate fucosyltransferase FUT8 catalyzes aberrant core fucosylation in sEMA7A at N-linked oligosaccharides(Asn 105,157,258,330,and 602)via a direct protein‒protein interaction.A glycosylated statue of sEMA7A is necessary for its intra-cellular trafficking from the cytoplasm to the *** EGF triggers sEMA7A N-glycosylation through increasing the binding affinity of sEMA7A toward FUT8,whereas TGF-β1 promotes abnormal glycosylation of sEMA7A via induction of epithelial–mesenchymal *** N-glycosylation of sEMA7A leads to the differentiation of CD8^(+)T cells along a trajectory toward an exhausted state,thus shaping an immunosuppressive microenvironment and being resistant immunogenic cell *** of sEMA7A significantly improves the clinical outcome of EGFR-targeted and anti-PD-L1-based ***,we also define RBM4,a splice regulator,as a downstream effector of glycosylated sEMA7A and a pivotal mediator of PD-L1 alternative *** findings suggest that targeting FUT8-sEMA7A axis might be a promising strategy for improving antitumor responses in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma patients.
