Assessment of CO_(2)storage prospect based on physical properties of Rio Bonito Formation rock units

The physical properties of the rock units associated with the Rio Bonito Formation are presented in this study with the focus on modelling reservoir quality based on petrophysics-derived parameters to evaluate CO_(2)storage *** involves the modelling of the reservoir depths,thicknesses,flow zone indicators(FZI),and effective permeability(Keff)and presenting the CO_(2)storage efficiency factors peculiar to the rock units of the study *** results presented by this study for the stated objectives are not quite common in the *** values range from 200 mD to higher than 2000 mD,and FZI values are generally above 1.0 mm and up to 13.0 mm within the portions covered by the drilled *** sandstone units recorded are up to 20 m thick in some *** Keff and FZI models indicate the sandstone reservoirs as permeable units to support the injection and circulation of CO_(2)within the potential reservoir units of the Rio Bonio Formation across São Paulo *** from some points in the southeastern part of the study location,where the Rio Bonito are delineated at depths less than 800 m(minimum CO_(2)storage depth based on best practices),other portions are deeper,ranging from 950 m to 3500 ***-bedded layers will affect the integrity of the rocks as CO_(2)storage tanks or reservoir seals/traps/overburden within the *** bed thicknesses are up to 20 m in some ***,hybrid CO_(2)reservoir units are feasible,especially in portions where thin siltstone layers are sandwiched between sandstone units to provide considerable thicknesses based on CO_(2)storage *** current study shows that useable areas considering reservoir thickness,depth,and other physical qualities will significantly control the CO_(2)storage efficiency of the study *** studies featuring a detailed geophysical exploration of the site to confirm the availability and saturations of preexisting fluid(hydrocarbon and water)are encouraged

Glial proliferation:For the last decades,glial cells have been wrongly believed to have a mere passive supporting role for ***,this notion has clearly changed and it is now admitted that these cells are essential for the correct development and regulation of the nervous *** cell population are commonly subdivided in astrocytes,oligodendrocytes and *** the development,neural stem cells(nSCs)(called neuroepithelial progenitor cells or nPCs)transform into radial glia,the primary progenitor cells for neurons,astrocytes and oligodendrocytes(Zuchero and Barres,2015).Microglial cells,however,derive from a mesenchymal precursor infiltration,meaning that during brain development,precursors generated in the bone narrow invade the nervous parenchyma and differentiate into microglial cells(Zuchero and Barres,2015).This proliferative capacity is preserved in the adult mammalian brain,and neurogenic nSCs are stored in two restricted regions of the central nervous system(CnS),the forebrain subventricular zone(SVZ)and the hippocampal dentate gyrus(subgranular zone).These cells continue to produce neurons and glial cells during the adulthood,being activated after certain signals and leaving the quiescent state(Urbán et al.,2019).This process,in which glial progenitor cells differentiate into mature glia during development and in the adult brain to maintain and regulate brain function,is called gliogenesis(Ardaya et al.,2020).

AIM: To study glutamine synthetase (GS) activity and glutamate uptake in the hippocampus and frontal cortex (FC) from rats with prehepatic portal vein hypertension. METHODS: Male Wistar rats were divided into shamoperated group and a portal hypertension (PH) group with a regulated stricture of the portal vein. Animals were sacrificed by decapitation 14 d after portal vein stricture. GS activity was determined in the hippocampus and FC. Specific uptake of radiolabeled L-glutamate was studied using synaptosome-enriched fractions that were freshly prepared from both brain areas. RESULTS: We observed that the activity of GS increased in the hippocampus of PH rats, as compared to control animals, and decreased in the FC. A significant decrease in glutamate uptake was found in both brain areas, and was more marked in the hippocampus. The decrease in glutamate uptake might have been caused by a deficient transport function, signif icantly and persistent increase in this excitatory neurotransmitter activity. COnCLUSIOn: The presence of moderate ammonia blood levels may add to the toxicity of excitotoxic glutamate in the brain, which causes alterations in brain function. Portal vein stricture that causes portal hypertension modif ies the normal function in some brain regions.

South of Godé, in the central-western region of Burkina Faso, granitoids of Paleoproterozoic age are similar to those of the Man/Leo shield. This study focused on the petrographic and geochemical characteristics of these granitoids, with the following results: 1) The tonalite that outcrops in the south-west of the study area belongs to the TTG group or first generation granitoids. They are most often ribboned at outcrop and have a geochemical signature close to that of Archean TTGs. Tonalite has a metaluminous character and the REE spectrum indicates that it may be derived from partial melting of basic magmatic rocks. 2) Biotite granites have no outcrop structure. They are weakly metaluminous to peraluminous and potassic to highly potassic. Their rare earth spectra indicate that they may be derived from the partial melting of TTG granitoids. 3) Geotectonic diagrams show that the granitoids studied to the south of Godé were emplaced in an active tectonic context similar to that of present-day subduction zones.

This study, carried out in the Léo square degree (west-central Burkina Faso) in the Palaeoproterozoic domain of the Man/Léo ridge, aims to define the shapes and positions of granitic plutons and the organisation of deformation structures using aeromagnetic data. These data have shown that there are small sub-circular granitic bodies to the north of the granitic masses in this region, and a large sub-circular granitic body to the south, around which are other smaller granitic bodies. The lineament map shows that the deformation structures are organised along three main directions and largely form these sub-circular plutonic bodies. We suggest that the granitic plutons are coalescent, pending identification of the internal structures of these granites to further refine the geodynamic model.

The Pouni area is made up of basalts belonging to the Boromo belt, lamprophyres and granitoids. These geological formations are similar to geological formations of the same type in other regions of the Palaeoproterozoic domain of the Man/Leo shield. This study, which focused on the petrographic and geochemical characteristics of these geological formations, led to the following main conclusions: The lamprophyres are basic plutonic rocks that cut through other geological formations. The basalt belongs to the northern part of the Borormo belt and is thought to be a relic of overthickened oceanic plateaus. There are two groups of granitoid rocks. The granodiorite has a geochemical signature close to that of Archean TTGs and is metaluminous in character. It has a low potassium content. The minor element and rare earth element spectra indicate that it could be derived from partial melting of basic magmatic rocks. Biotite granites are peraluminous and highly potassic. Minor element contents and rare earth spectra indicate that they could be derived from partial melting of felsic materials. Geotectonic diagrams show that the granitoids identified in the Pouni zone were emplaced in an active tectonic context, similar to that of present-day subduction zones.

This study examines a common phenomenon that is greatly ignored by the clinical community for numerous reasons. Many people for a multitude of reasons experience taste alterations. The supertaster phenomenon is an alteration of taste that requires more investigation. In this study, a proband was examined for subjective reports of a taste alteration to determine its nature through a medical history examination and interview as well as any recollections of the taste disorder in her life. Through this examination, it was found that medical history examination and interview of the proband that many members of her nuclear family showed traits of the same taste disorder or in the case of one family member being a suspect for the taste alteration and one member not showing any signs because of genetic diversity as a half-sibling. Taste disorders are heritable, have multiple health and mental health consequences, influence life choices including mate choice, avoidance behaviors, social choices, alcohol use/abuse, smoking, food choices, and more. More awareness is needed in the research and clinical community into taste alterations as well as calls for future research from neuroscience, biomedical science, life science, and allied science community to investigate taste alterations.

Assessment of Sensitization in AISI 304 Stainless Steel by nonlinear Ultrasonic Method

A nonlinear ultrasonic technique has been developed to evaluate sensitization in Type 304 stainless steel. In order to achieve diferent degree of sensitization（DOS）, specimens have been subjected to heat treatment at 675℃ at varying soaking time（0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 h）. Heat treated specimens were subjected to intergranular corrosion tests as per ASTM standards A262 and G108. Sensitization in longer soaked material has been confirmed through ditch microstructures, cracks on the bend tested specimens and higher degree of sensitization. nonlinear ultrasonic studies showed variation in the nonlinearity parameter with soaking time which also confirms sensitization. A good correlation was observed between the degree of sensitization measured by the electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation test and the ultrasonic nonlinearity *** study clearly demonstrated that nonlinear ultrasonic technique can be used as a potential technique for non-destructive characterization of sensitization in austenitic stainless steel.
