Efficacy and Safety of Vortioxetine and Duloxetine 60 mg Compared Placebo for the Treatment of Major Depressive Disorder: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Background: Major depressive disorder is a serious public health problem affecting the lives of millions in the worldwide and leading causes of disability and disease. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Vortioxetine and Duloxetine 60 mg compared to placebo for the treatment of major depressive disorder. Method: We searched the Cochrane library, Pub Med, CRD, Scopus, and Central Register of Controlled Trials to January 2015. We also searched ***, International depressive disorder Conference and the Anxiety Disorders and Depression Conference. We identified that five randomized clinical trials were ultimately included in a Meta analysis. Data analysis was conducted by Standardized Mean Differences (SMD) for Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS), and Odds Ratio (OR) for adverse events. The SMD and OR reported by 95% CI. Results: Results showed statistical significance in the MADRS for Vortioxetine (SMD = ﹣3.29;95% CI ﹣4.47 to ﹣2.10;I2 = 99.3%) and for Duloxetine 60 mg (SMD = ﹣6.35;95% CI ﹣8.84, ﹣3.87;I2 = 99.3%). Results showed that the Vortioxetine 2.5, 5, 10, 15, 20 mg and overall compared to placebo showed a significance for Nausea and no significance for diarrhea, dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue and headache. Also results of Duloxetine 60 mg showed a significant effect for dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue and nausea. Conclusion: It is necessary to do more studies so as to better assess and much more powerful than the evidence for the use of this drug in the treatment of depression.

Major depressive disorder, a common debilitating illness, is one of the leading causes of disability and disease worldwide. Different drugs for the treatment of patients with major depression can be used. Vortioxetine for the treatment of major depressive disorder was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2013. This study aimed to evaluation efficacy and safety Vortioxetine 20 mg/d compared placebo in major depressive disorder. To conduct this study, we searched Pub Med, Cochrane library, Scopus, and Central Register of Controlled Trials. This study by including randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that evaluated this study by including randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that evaluated Vortioxetine 20 mg/d in patients with major depressive disorder. Data analysis was conducted by standard mean different ratios (SMD) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs), P values and odds ratios (ORs) for adverse events with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) and P values;heterogeneity testing and sensitivity analysis was also performed in this study. We found that 4 articles met the inclusion criteria and were finally used for this meta-analysis. Results showed statistical significance in the MADRS (Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale), SMD = -4.75 with 95% CI [-6.84, -2.65] and P value < 0.00001), for Clinical Global Impression Scale-Improvement (CGI-I) SMD was -4.34 with 95% CI [-6.41, -2.27] and P value < 0.00001, and for Sheehan Disability Scale (SDS) SMD was -2.62 with 95% CI [-3.99, -1.25] and P value < 0.00001. The pooled analysis for safety demonstrated for diarrhea OR = 0.92 with 95% CI [0.46, 1.83] , P value = 0.09, for dry mouth OR = 1.74 with 95% CI [1.07, 2.83] , P value = 0.80, for dizziness OR = 1.62 with 95% CI [0.72, 3.66] , P value = 0.05, for fatigue OR = 1.17 with 95% CI [0.34, 4.08], P value = 0.07, for headache OR = 1.28 with 95% CI [0.91, 1.79], P value = 0.60 and for nausea OR = 4.78 with 95% CI [3.43, 6.67], P value = 0.61. Synergizing Wind,Solar,and Biomass Power:Ranking Analysis of Off-Grid System for Different Weather Conditions of Iran

Nowadays,the use of renewable energies,especially wind,solar,and biomass,is essential as an effective solution to address global environmental and economic ***,the current study examines the energy-economic-environmental analysis of off-grid electricity generation systems using solar panels,wind turbines,and biomass generators in various weather conditions in *** over 25 years were conducted using HOMER v2.81 software,aiming to determine the potential of each region and find the lowest cost of electricity production per *** the end,to identify the most suitable location,the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS)method was employed to rank different stations based on simulation output parameters and some other influential *** the evaluation of various parameters,the stations in Yazd,Marand,and Dezful achieved the best results,while the stations in Ramsar,Shahrekord,and Gonbad presented the least favorable *** Yazd,the wind turbine is an economic priority,and a 100 kW wind turbine is utilized in the optimal *** Yazd,where the simultaneous use of renewable energies is most prominent,the lowest pollutant production occurred with a quantity of 1174 kg/*** energy losses are highest in Jask station and lowest in Yazd.

Enhancing PIV image and fractal descriptor for velocity and shear stresses propagation around a circular pier

In this study,the fractal dimensions of velocity fluctuations and the Reynolds shear stresses propagation for flow around a circular bridge pier are *** the study reported herein,the fractal dimension of velocity fluctuations（u′,v′,w′） and the Reynolds shear stresses（u′v′ and u′w′） of flow around a bridge pier were computed using a Fractal Interpolation Function（FIF） *** velocity fluctuations of flow along a horizontal plane above the bed were measured using Acoustic Doppler Velocity meter（ADV）and Particle Image Velocimetry（P1V）.The PIV is a powerful technique which enables us to attain high resolution spatial and temporal information of turbulent flow using instantaneous time *** this study,PIV was used for detection of high resolution fractal scaling around a bridge *** results showed that the fractal dimension of flow fluctuated significantly in the longitudinal and transverse directions in the vicinity of the *** was also found that the fractal dimension of velocity fluctuations and shear stresses increased rapidly at vicinity of pier at downstream whereas it remained approximately unchanged far downstream of the *** higher value of fractal dimension was found at a distance equal to one times of the pier diameter in the back of the ***,the average fractal dimension for the streamwise and transverse velocity fluctuations decreased from the centreline to the side wall of the ***,the results from ADV measurement were consistent with the result from PIV,therefore,the ADV enables to detect turbulent characteristics of flow around a circular bridge pier.

Circulation cells topology and their effect on migration pattern of different multi-bend meandering rivers

In meandering rivers,a cross-stream flow,referred to as a secondary current,has important effects on broad spectra of hydraulic/environmental characteristics,running the gamut from river hydrodynamics and geomorphology to stream *** transport equation for vorticity and kinetic energy transfer should be analyzed to specify terms involved in generation of secondary ***,there is limited research on scrutinizing these terms in meandering *** the other hand,while rivers are mostly multi-bend,previous studies have been limited to single *** the current paper,three physical multi-bend channels representing a strongly curved bend,a mild bend and an elongated symmetrical meander loop are designed in order to unravel mechanisms responsible for forming circulation cells in cross *** are carried out in the middle bend of these *** turbulence anisotropy considerably strengthens almost all near bank ***,contrary to single sharp bends,multi bend effects hinder the transfer of the kinetic energy in both directions in the entrance section of the strongly curved bend.

GenFloor:Interactive generative space layout system via encoded tree graphs

Automated floorplanning or space layout planning has been a long-standing NP-hard problem in the field of computer-aided design,with applications in integrated circuits,architecture,urbanism,and operational *** this paper,we introduce GenFloor,an interactive design system that takes geometrical,topological,and performance goals and constraints as input and provides optimized spatial design solutions as *** part of our work,we propose three novel permutation methods for existing space layout graph representations,namely O-Tree and B*-Tree *** implement our proposed floorplanning methods as a package for Dynamo,a visual programming tool,with a custom GUI and additional evaluation functionalities to facilitate designers in their generative design ***,we illustrate the performance of GenFloor in two sets of case-study experiments for residential floorplanning tasks by(a)measuring the ability of the proposed system to find a known optimal solution,and(b)observing how the system can generate diverse floorplans while addressing given a constant residential design *** results indicate that convergence to the global optimum is achieved while offering a diverse set of solutions of a residential floorplan corresponding to local optimums of the solution landscape.

Biostratigraphy of Albian Sediments(Kazhdumi Formation)in Zagros Area(Southwest of Iran)

To investigate biostratigraphy of Albian sediments(Kazhdumi Formation)in the Zagros Basin,280 samples in four sections were prepared which are nominated as Murshan-e-Bala,Fahliyane-Pain,Kupon and *** distribution of identified foraminifers confirms well developed orbitolinids which are associated with other Albian benthic foraminifers in all studied *** orbitolinids are recognized in surrounding strata[Dariyan(at the base which is marked by an oxidized zone)and Sarvak Formations(on the top,as gradtional contact)]as well as the Kazhdumi *** biostratigraphic data show that Early Albian is marked by the presence of Hemicyclammina sigali,which co-occurs with Mesorbitolina texana and Mesorbitolina subconcava,whereas Conicorbitolina conica and Meorbitolina parva support Late Albian age of the studied *** algae are associated with both benthic faunal *** planktons occur in the studied sections which are identified as Favusella washitensis and Calcisphaerula inomminata *** stratigraphic position of planktons actually indicates vertical displacement in the sedimentary basin during Albian *** associated Albian pelagic foraminifera are identified which are obviously recognized in three sections of the Kazhdumi *** presence of pelagic species in the study section of the Kazhdumi Formation indicates basement faulting during the Albian period.

Water Resource Management in the Intermountain Izeh Plain,Southwest of Iran

Ever growing demand for water for agricultural activities in the Izeh Plain has enhanced the use of groundwater. Due to enormous groundwater abstraction since 1985, the overall static water level has receded by more than 5 meters reflecting that the aquifer is under stress condition. As a result, interest is focused on application of artificial recharge as an option for groundwater management to augment water supply in this area. Therefore, in the present investigations, suitable sites for artificial recharge were selected by an integrated surface and sub-surface assessment of the area. On the basis of the data collected from four target points, it was realized that the selected sites for artificial recharge could not meet water demand of the area. In this study attention was also paid to utilization of the existing Miangran Lake water as an alternative to combat water shortage for irrigation. The study further indicated that the available Miangran Lake water could be used for irrigation of the reclaimed agricultural land and enabling to convert 20o0 hectares of rain-fed land into irrigation. The total cost to utilize lake water is US$ 2,756,729 and it was estimated that the project could recoup the investment within 5 years which is quite reasonable in this water scarcity prone area.

Objective:The concept of coping with disease appears frequently in the literature;however,there is no precise definition of *** aim of this study is to clarify coping concept,and to identify its attributes,antecedents,and consequences in patients with multiple ***:Rodgers'evolutionary method of concept analysis was used to clarify the concept of coping.A literature review was conducted with key terms‘multiple sclerosis’,‘coping’,‘adjustment’,and‘deal with’.After searching databases,1370 papers were found for the period ***,55 articles and texts were selected for *** analysis was carried out using thematic *** independent researcher checked the process to ensure credibility and reduce personal ***:Coping with multiple sclerosis is a multidimensional concept with three main attributes:maintenance of emotional balance,acceptance of the disease,and *** support,awareness toward the disease,attitude toward the disease,and religious-spiritual beliefs were found as *** promotion,adherence to treatment regimen,independence in personal life and social relationships,and improvement of family relationships were found as consequences of these ***:These findings not only add to the body of knowledge in health science,but also serve as an important motivation for further theory development and research in this *** and health professions can also benefit from a deeper understanding of coping concept in providing and planning healthcare for these patients.
