Flax is considered to be one of the most significant dual-purpose crops for oil and fiber production in Egypt and *** have a substantial impact on various metabolic processes,including increased photo-synthesis,endogenous hormone levels,ion absorption,nucleic acid synthesis,and protein *** factors collectively contribute to the growth and development of ***,this study aims to investigate how three biofertilizers(Algae extract,CMS as a by-product of yeast,and Metalosate multi minerals as amino acids)can enhance both the quantity and quality of flax seed yield under sandy soil *** field experiments were conducted at the Experimental Station of National Research Centre in Nubaria District,behira Governorate,Egypt during two seasons(2021/2022)using a randomized complete block design(RCbD).The results revealed significant differences among all tested biofertilizers in terms of various characteristics studied in *** application of algae extract at a rate of 1.50 mL/L resulted in an increase in seed yield(ton/ha)by 26.69%&19.89%,straw yield(ton/ha)by 8.08%&17.12%,and oil yield(kg/ha)by 47.72%&33.69%compared to the control group during both seasons *** applications of algae extract at a rate of 1.50 mL/L along with CMS at a rate of 5 m L/L and amino acids at a rate of 1.50 mL/L demonstrated significantly higher macronutrient contents(N,P,K),micronutrient contents(Fe,Zn,Mn),seed oil content,and protein content in flax seeds during both *** highest values for seed oil content and protein content%were obtained through foliar application of amino acids at a rate of 1.50 mL/*** can be concluded that foliar sprays with these bio-fertilizers effectively improved flax performance by increasing seed straw and oil yields,nutrients oil,protein and fatty acids seeds contents.

Assessment of plant diversity of endemic species of the Saharo-Arabian region in Egypt

Savanna, semi-deserts, and hot deserts characterize the Saharo-Arabian region, which includes Morocco, Mauretania, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen, southern Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. Its neighboring regions, the Sudano-Zambezian region belonging to the Paleotropical Kingdom and the Mediterranean and Irano-Turanian regions included in the Holarctic Kingdom, share a large portion of their flora with the Saharo-Arabian region. Despite the widespread acknowledgment of the region's global importance for plant diversity, an up to date list of the Saharo-Arabian endemics is still unavailable. The available data are frequently insufficient or out of date at both the whole global and the national scales. Therefore, the present study aims at screening and verifying the Saharo-Arabian endemic plants and determining the phytogeographical distribution of these taxa in the Egyptian flora. Hence, a preliminary list of 429 Saharo-Arabian endemic plants in Egypt was compiled from the available literature. Indeed, by excluding the species that were recorded in any countries or regions outside the Saharo-Arabian region based on different literature, database reviews, and websites, the present study has reduced this number to 126 taxa belonging to 87 genera and 37 families. Regarding the national geographic distribution, South Sinai is the richest region with 83 endemic species compared with other eight phytogeographic regions in Egypt, followed by the Isthmic Desert(the middle of Sinai Peninsula, 53 taxa). Sahara regional subzone(SS1) distributes all the 126 endemic species, Arabian regional subzone(SS2) owns 79 taxa, and Nubo-Sindian subzone(SS3) distributes only 14 endemics. Moringa oleifera is well known as a highly nutritious plant and a water purifier in fish *** fish has many impressive qualities making them very suitable for ***,this study aimed to evaluate the effect of supplementation of Moringa oleifera aqueous extract(MOAE)at varying concentrations(0,100,200,and 400 mg/kg diet for 90 days)on growth performance,hematological,and some biochemical parameters of Nile ***,histological changes and immunohistochemical expression of caspase 3 in gills and livers were *** enhancements(Pblood cells,hemoglobin,packed cell volume,white blood cells,and total serum protein were observed in fish fed 200 mg MOAE/kg diet compared with other ***,a significant reduction(Pbance in the corresponding *** histological degenerative changes were detected in the gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg *** comparison,fish fed 200 mg MOAE/kg diet showed the best histo-architectures of these organs compared with other *** immune expressions of caspase 3 were determined where gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet revealed extensive number of positive caspase 3 cells indicating severe apoptotic ***,a dietary MOAE at 200 mg/kg diet is recommended to improve the growth performance,hematological parameters,liver and kidney functions in Nile ***,caution must be considered when using MOAE at a concentration over 200 mg/kg diet.

The main target of this research is to allow solar PV to contribute economically to an on-grid energy-efficient building where the dust accumulation is a significant ***-cleaning coatings such as hydrophobic or hy-drophilic materials have recently been introduced to reduce dust deposition on building-integrated PV(bIPV)*** hydrophilic Nano-coated material is examined as a solution to decrease the impact of the dust on the bIPV panels and harvest more solar *** impartial comparison of the bIPV panels performance under natu-ral dust conditions,manual cleaning,and hydrophilic nanomaterial coating is *** an exhaustive and qualitative experimental analysis,the anti-reflection and anti-static properties of the utilized Nano-coated material are *** experimental results show that the hydrophilic Nano-coated material significantly improves the gathered maximum output power by 18%compared to the manually wiped *** calculated efficiencies of the Nano-coated,manual cleaning,and dusty panels are 11%,9%,and 6%,respectively,which highlights the futureproofing of the Nano-coated solar *** to the dusty panels,the ecological and economical results show that the bIPV carbon emissions are desirably dropped by 11%while using Nano-coated PV panels and the payback period is reduced to 3.9 years,which is approximately 12.8%faster.

Molecular study of astrovirus, adenovirus and norovirus in community acquired diarrhea in children: One Egyptian center study

Objective: To determine the prevalence of astrovirus, norovirus, adenovirus in children below five years old with diarrhea by multiplex reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) along with rotavirus antigen detection by enzyme linked immunosorbant ***: The study was conducted on children below five years old complaining of acute diarrhea. The study included stool examination by molecular method for detection of norovirus, adenovirus and astrovirus by multiplex RT-PCR. Rotavirus antigen was detected in the stool by enzyme linked immunosorbant ***: The study included 100 children below 5 years old with acute *** RT-PCR was positive in 34% of the children. The most frequently detected virus was rotavirus(44%), followed by norovirus(30%), adenovirus(20%) and astrovirus(14%). The clinical symptoms were more significantly associated with viral diarrhea such as fever(P = 0.03), bloody diarrhea(P = 0.025), vomiting(P = 0.000 1) and watery diarrheas(P = 0.05). The frequency of diarrhea with viral pathogen was significantly presented in winter season(39.7%). There were significant frequencies of norovirus and adenovirus in age ranging 1–2 years old(P = 0.04, P = 0.01 respectively).Conclusions: The present study spotlights on the prevalence of viral pathogens as an important etiology in diarrhea in children below five years old. Astrovirus, norovirus and adenovirus are common along with rotavirus in this group of patients. Multiplex PCR leads to improve the laboratory diagnosis of these viruses along with antigen detection method. Further longitudinal studies are required to evaluate the epidemiological data associated with these viruses and for proper management of such drastic infection.

Microbiology Research Laboratory(MRL)is a biosafety level-2(bSL-2)research laboratory located at the main campus of Faculty of Medicine,Ain Shams University(ASU)in *** the objective of strengthening the departmental capacities of biosafety,a series of activities were carried out between October 2019,and January 2020 to raise awareness,along with instilling standard biosafety practices and procedures among laboratory staff including non-health *** staff were categorized according to their biosafety knowledge into three tiers:tier(1):with zero to minimal knowledge,tier(2):with basic knowledge,tier(3):with satisfactory *** based activities were designed to align with their job ***:44 selected laboratory staff were trained on biosafety practices:12 from tier(1),19 from tier(2)and 13 constituted tier(3).Through regular follow-ups,the impact of the implemnted training plan was reflected on the practices and knowledge of all laboratory *** among health professions has increased by 60%.Furthermore,6 staff members have granted a biosafety certification by International Federation of biosafety Association(IFbSA).Conclusion:establishing a culture of biosafety within microbiology research laboratories is integral to safe research *** with developing local and national biosafety regulations and policies will ensure research advancement without compromising public health or environmental safety.

Synthesis and Structure-Activity Relationships of Novel Neocryptolepine Derivatives

Herein we reported the synthesis of a novel series of neocryptolepine（5-methyl-5H-indolo[2,3-b]quinoline） derivatives containing different substituents at Cll using methyl 1H-indole-3-carboxylate and N-methylaniline as starting material. The target 21 compounds were evaluated for their axltibacterial activity in vitro against gram-positive bacteria（b, subtilis and S. aureus） and gram-negative bacteria（E, coli and ***）. Almost all the tested compounds showed moderate to high activities against the four bacterial strains at the minimum inhibitory concentrations（MICs） of 1-10μg/mL. The obtained results suggest that part of the novel synthetic neocryptolepine derivatives exhibit significant antibacterial effect against all the tested organisms.
