Assessment of plant diversity of endemic species of the s.h.ro-Arabian region in Egypt

savanna, semi-deserts, and hot deserts characterize the s.h.ro-Arabian region, which includes Morocco, Mauretania, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Kuwait, saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen, southern Jordan, syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. Its neighboring regions, the sudano-Zambezian region belonging to the Paleotropical Kingdom and the Mediterranean and Irano-Turanian regions included in the holarctic Kingdom, share a large portion of their flora with the s.h.ro-Arabian region. Despite the widespread acknowledgment of the region's global importance for plant diversity, an up to date list of the s.h.ro-Arabian endemics is still unavailable. The available data are frequently insufficient or out of date at both the whole global and the national scales. Therefore, the present study aims at screening and verifying the s.h.ro-Arabian endemic plants and determining the phytogeographical distribution of these taxa in the Egyptian flora. hence, a preliminary list of 429 s.h.ro-Arabian endemic plants in Egypt was compiled from the available literature. Indeed, by excluding the species that were recorded in any countries or regions outside the s.h.ro-Arabian region based on different literature, database reviews, and websites, the present study has reduced this number to 126 taxa belonging to 87 genera and 37 families. Regarding the national geographic distribution, south sinai is the richest region with 83 endemic species compared with other eight phytogeographic regions in Egypt, followed by the Is.h.ic Desert(the middle of sinai Peninsula, 53 taxa). s.h.ra regional subzone(ss1) distributes all the 126 endemic species, Arabian regional subzone(ss2) owns 79 taxa, and Nubo-sindian subzone(ss3) distributes only 14 endemics. seven groups were recognized at the fourth level of classification as a result of the application of the two-way indicator species analysis(TWINsPAN) to the s.h.ro-Arabian endemic sp

In this paper, the effects of both rotation and magnetic field of the peristaltic transport of a second-order fluid through a porous medium in a channel are studied analytically and computed numerically. The material is represented by the constitutive equations for a second-order fluid. Closed-form solutions under the consideration of long wavelength and low Reynolds number is presented. The analytical expressions for the pressure gradient, pressure rise, friction force, stream function, shear stress, and velocity are obtained in the physical domain. The effects of the non-dimensional wave amplitude, porosity, magnetic field, rotation, and the dimensionless time-mean flow in the wave frame are analyzed theoretically and computed numerically. Numerical results are given and illustrated graphically in each case considered. Comparison was made with the results obtained in the presence and absence of rotation, magnetic field, and porosity. The results indicate that the effects of the non-dimensional wave amplitude, porosity, magnetic field, rotation, and the dimensionless time-mean flow are very pronounced in the phenomena.

Many historic buildings in old urban centers in Eastern Canada are made of stone masonry reputed to be highly vulnerable to seismic *** risk assessment of stone masonry buildings is therefore the first step in the risk mitigation process to provide adequate planning for retrofit and preservation of historical urban *** paper focuses on development of analytical displacement-based fragility curves reflecting the characteristics of existing stone masonry buildings in Eastern *** old historic center of Quebec City has been selected as a typical study *** standard fragility analysis combines the inelastic spectral displacement,a structure-dependent earthquake intensity measure,and the building damage state correlated to the induced building *** proposed procedure consists of a three-step development process：（1） mechanics-based capacity model,（2） displacement-based damage model and（3） seismic demand *** damage estimation for a uniform hazard scenario of 2% in 50 years probability of exceedance indicates that slight to moderate damage is the most probable damage experienced by these stone masonry *** is also made with fragility curves implicit in the seismic risk assessment tools.h.zus and *** shows the highest probability of the occurrence of no to slight damage,whereas the highest probability of extensive and complete damage is predicted with *** comparison shows the importance of the development of fragility curves specific to the generic construction characteristics in the study area and emphasizes the need for critical use of regional risk assessment tools and generated results.

Effect of hot and cold dust charge on the propagation of dust-acoustic waves （DAWs） in unmagnetized plasma having electrons, singly charged ions, hot and cold dust grains.h.s been investigated. The reductive perturbation method is employed to reduce the basic set of fluid equations to the Kortewege-de Vries （KdV） equation. At the critical hot dusty plasma density Nho, the KdV equation is not appropriate for describing the system. hence, a set of stretched coordinates is considered to derive the modified KdV equation. It is found that the presence of hot and cold dust charge grains not only significantly modifies the basic properties of solitary structure, but also changes the polarity of the solitary profiles. In the vicinity of the critical hot dusty plasma density Nho, neither KdV nor mKdV equation is appropriate for describing the DAWs. Therefore, a further modified KdV （fmKdV） equation is derived, which admits both soliton and double layer solutions.

herein we reported the synthesis of a novel series of neocryptolepine（5-methyl-5h-indolo[2,3-b]quinoline） derivatives containing different substituents at Cll using methyl 1h-indole-3-carboxylate and N-methylaniline as starting material. The target 21 compounds were evaluated for their axltibacterial activity in vitro against gram-positive bacteria（B, subtilis and s. aureus） and gram-negative bacteria（E, coli and ***）. Almost all the tested compounds showed moderate to high activities against the four bacterial strains at the minimum inhibitory concentrations（MICs） of 1-10μg/mL. The obtained results suggest that part of the novel synthetic neocryptolepine derivatives exhibit significant antibacterial effect against all the tested organisms.

The deodorizer distillate(DD)is a byproduct of vegetable oil processing industry and is rich in functional bioactive *** study aimed to employ phos.h.rylation modification for DD to produce a new sustainable *** bioactive ingredients in DD,namely fatty acids,sterols,and tocopherols,were determined by using hPLC and *** results revealed that the DD sample contained a high percentage of unsaturated fatty acids(72.3%)and high levels ofγandδ-tocopherols(54.8%and 31.60%,respectively).Mechanical parameters(tensile strength,elongation at break,and tear strength)of leather were improved after being treated with the prepared fatliquor ***,sEM showed that the texture of the fatliquored leather had been remarkably ***,the fatliquored leather possessed effective antibacterial effect against the specified+ve,-ve bacteria,and Candida albicans *** strength,fullness,soft handle,and elasticity of leather were all improved,and the grain of leather was protected from becoming loose after drying.

Background: Irritable Bowel syndrome (IBs) is a common functional gastrointestinal disorder (FGID), characterized by abdominal pain or discomfort and alteration in bowel habits. Aim of the study: To determine the overall prevalence, prevalence of each type and risk factors of IBs among Northern Border University (NBU) students, Arar, Kingdom of saudi Arabia. Material and methods: We use cross sectional, descriptive study with multistage cluster probability sample. Using Rome III criteria questionnaire of IBs;which is a self-administrated consists of ten questions assessing the current status of an apparently normal person. The questionnaire is administrated to Northern Border University students. Results: A total of 228 University students of them, 94 (41.2%) males and 134 (58.8%) females were included in the study. The overall prevalence of IBs according to Rome III criteria in northern border University was (32.5%). The disease prevalence was 33.6% in females and 30.9% in males. Among the study participants, the most common type of IBs was the mixed one 12.7%, followed by the constipation predominant type 10.5%, then the diarrhea pre-dominant type 5.7% while the least common was unsubtyped cases (3.5%). statistically significant increase in prevalence of this disease was found among female students (60.8% vs. 39.2% in males) (p-value he students who experienced psychic stress and irritability (79.7%) (p-value students who were obese (p-value sion: The results of this study concluded the prevalence rate of 32.5% for IBs among the students studying in Northern Border University. stress and high body mass index were significantly associated with IBs. In addition, this study concluded that IBs was not significantly associated with socio-demographic characteristics and smoking.

Thin films of hydrogenated amorphous germanium (a-Ge:h) were prepared by radio frequency glow dis.h.rge deposition at various substrate temperatures. The hydrogen distribution and bonding struc-ture in a-Ge:h were discussed based on infrared absorption data. The correlation between infrared absorp-tion spectra and hydrogen effusion measurements was used to determine the proportionality constant for each vibration mode of the Ge-h bonds. The results reveal that the bending mode appearing at 835 cm1 is associated with the Ge-h2 (dihydride) groups on the internal surfaces of voids. While 1880 cm1 is assigned to vibrations of Ge-h (monohydride) groups in the bulk, the 2000 cm1 stretching mode is attributed to Ge-h and Ge-h2 bonds located on the surfaces of voids. For films associated with bending modes in the infrared spectra, the proportionality constant values of the stretching modes near 1880 and 2000 cm1 are found to be lower than those of films which had no corresponding bending modes.

Four isolates of Bacillus subtilis coded,B4,B7,B8 and B10 were examined as biocontrol agents for their abilities and antagonistic effect on the in vitro growth of certain phytopathogenic fungi of peanut,Rhizoctonia solani and sclerotium *** subtilis isolate B4(GenBank accession ***150884)was the highly effective one for inhibiting the fungal mycelial *** fermentation of *** isolate B4 was carried out and the maximum biomass achieved was 4.53 g L-1 at 11 *** subtilis isolate B4 was formulated and evaluated as a biofungicide to reduce peanut soil-borne diseases under greenhouse and field conditions at the side of Rizolex-T(fungicide)as *** by formulated plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)*** B4 and Rizolex-T in a soil infested with ***,*** and mixture of them were more effective in decreasing percentage of damping-off,root and pod rot disease incidence(%)in greenhouse and open field environment during the two seasons 2015 and *** by PGPR gave highly dry weight and number of healthy pods compared to control of fungi treatment which was nearby to dry weights of healthy pods achieved by treatments by Rizolex-T in a soil infested with ***,*** and mixture of *** PGPR *** B4 gave higher increasing of yield percentage than treatment by Rizolex-T in the two evaluated seasons 2015 and *** can conclude that the produced bioforumlated agent was more efficient as fungicide when compared with the other chemical synthesized fungicides,safe for human and the environment and economy.
