Hypertension(HTN)is one of the most common chronic diseases affecting over 30%of the adult population globally,with a growing incidence *** article aims to identify the commonly used herbs for HTN treatment and examine their claims,criticisms,and *** further aims to provide useful recommendations regarding the use of herbs for HTN *** complications,such as coronary heart disease,stroke,peripheral vascular disease,vision impairment,and renal failure can result in morbidity and *** high cost of conventional medications,which sometimes may not even be available or easily accessible with their unfavorable side effects as well as taking more than one pill per day,has led hypertensive patients,particularly those in rural areas,to explore alternative treatments such as herbal *** is crucial to determine the different modes of action,doses,safety,and efficacy of herbal remedies used in combination with conventional medications to improve treatment adherence and enhance patient outcomes.

Traditional medicine(TM)has played an essential part in maternity services around the world,which has led to increased utilization among pregnant ***,herbal preparations,and completed herbal products are examples of TMs that contain active substances such as plant parts or other plant components that are thought to have therapeutic *** study review aimed to identify the herbs commonly used,reasons for use,and effect of use,to make adequate recommendations on herbal medicine use as a remedy for pregnancy and *** evidence from reviews,personal correspondence,and diaries,this study demonstrates that about 80%of people used TM such as herbal remedies for sickness diagnosis,prevention,treatment,and promotion of general well‑*** to its accessibility,cost,and availability,TM is usually used by expectant *** of TM used in pregnancy and labor include honey,aloe,raspberry,jute mallow,and hibiscus *** is important to note that its use in pregnancy and labor can be beneficial or harmful to both mother and *** of standardization,financial risk,lack of safety,and effectiveness are challenges to *** is a need of creating awareness of the safe use and effects of TM in pregnancy and labor through the provision of health education programs for women in the community.

The investigation of the biodegradability and methane potential of bacterial pre-treated miscanthus sinensis has been carried *** percent solution of Bacta-sile:A silage promoter was used to pre-treat miscanthus sinensis at 25℃.The anaerobic digestion experiments were carried out at 25℃ and 35℃ in batch *** organic loading rates(OLR)varied between 1.25 g and 7 g in different batch *** results showed that the highest methane concentration was 57% from digester 1 while the lowest methane produced was 38% from digester *** low methane production from digester 3 was attributed to temperature changes and poor organic loading *** pretreatment aided biodegradation of miscanthus at 25℃.Operating temperature of 25℃ had a great effect on digestion experiments resulting to longer required Hydraulic Retention Time(HRT).

Ultimate bearing capacity(UBC)is a key subject in geotechnical/foundation engineering as it determines the limit of loads imposed on the *** most reliable means of determining UBC is through experiment,but it is costly and time-consuming which has led to the development of various models based on the simplified *** outcomes of the models are usually validated with the experimental results,but a large gap usually exists between ***,a model that can give a close prediction of the experimental results is *** study proposes a grasshopper optimization algorithm(GOA)and salp swarm algorithm(SSA)to optimize artificial neural networks(ANNs)using the existing UBC experimental *** performances of the proposed models are evaluated using various statistical *** obtained results are compared with the existing *** proposed models outperformed the existing *** proposed hybrid GOA-ANN and SSA-ANN models are then transformed into mathematical forms that can be incorporated into geotechnical/foundation engineering design codes for accurate UBC measurements.

A geochemical assessment of the fifty surface stream sediments from Ikorodu Southwest Nigeria was carried out to determine the level of contamination. The sediments were dried, disaggregated and sieved to \75 lm fraction for geochemical analysis, using the aqua-regia digestion technique and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Major elements showed the following trend Fe [ Al [ Ca [ Na [ Mg [ K [ P [ Ti and were below the average shale concentration, except for Na in one *** from factor and correlation analyses showed two groups of trace elements Ni, Co, Mn, U, Th, Sr, V, La, Cr, Ba,Sc, Ga, Cs, Nb, Rb, Y,Ce and Mo, Pb, Zn, As, Cd, Sb, Sn, Zr,which were from geogenic and anthropogenic sources, respectively. The enrichment factor showed that Cd, Bi, Pt, Mo and Ag were, for all samples, within background concentrations, except those of the Ogun River and the Owode Onirin, which showed significant enrichment of Cd, Zn, Cu,Pb and Ag, depletion to minimal enrichment for Bi, Mo and moderate enrichment for Pt. The contamination degree ranged between 1.25 and 143.79. The highest value was found at Owode Onirin and the lowest, at Igbonla 7. The geoaccumulation index showed that all the stream sediments ranged between practically uncontaminated to moderately to highly contaminated—with Pb, Sn, Zn, Cd, Cu, Cr, Zr and Ba. The potential ecological risk factor and environmental risk index(IER) showed that all of the samples were within the class of low to medium contamination risk, except samples from the Owode Onirin, which fell within the class of very high risk to extremely high risk respectively.

The methane potentials of cyanobacteria and chlorella have been investigated in eight different lab scale reactors at 25℃for three-day Hydraulic Retention Time(HRT).Autoclavation pre-treatment was applied to the cyanobacteria to aid digestion,while the Chlorella was obtained and digested in powdery *** organic loading rates were 1g VS,2 g VS,3 g VS,4 g VS,5 g VS,6 g VS,7 g VS,8 g VS and 9 g *** production rates increased with increasing loading rates and started declining at loading rate higher than 7 g VS,while the HRT was kept *** highest methane production rates for cyanobacteria and chlorella were(78±25)mL/(L·d)and(100±25)mL/(L·d),respectively,at loading rate of 7 g *** instability occurred at loading rates of 8 g VS and 9 g VS with higher accumulation of methane *** compositions of both feeds were close and the methane production potentials of both biomasses were also close and followed the same trend.

Distribution and geochemical significance of dibenzofurans,phenyldibenzofurans and benzo[b]naphthofurans in source rock extracts from Niger Delta basin,Nigeria

The distribution and geochemical significance of dibenzofurans,phenyldibenzofurans and benzo[b]naptho-furans in source rocks from Niger Delta basin,Nigeria,were investigated by Rock-Eval pyrolysis and gas chro-matography--mass spectrometry(GC--MS).The data obtained from the source rocks evaluation showed that the rock samples contained type 1/III kerogen capable of generating oil and gas and were within immature to early mature *** relative abundance of the Cor,C1-and C2-dibenzofurans range from 1.75%to 29.82%,27.60%to 40.52%and 29.66%to 6889%,*** diben-zofurans were dominated by *** the C1-dibenzofurans,2-+3-methyldibenzofuran was the most abundant in the rock samples while 1-methy ldibenzofuran appeared to be the *** relative abundance of benzo[b]naphtho[1,2-d]furan(1,2]BNF),benzo[b]naph-tha[2,1-d]furan(2.1]BNF)and benzo[b]naphtha[2,3-d]fu-ran([2.3]BNF)in the rock extracts range from 12.01%to 52.58%,32.61%to 75.219%and 10.27%to 52.43%.The wide range of values recorded for the three isomers of benzo[b lnapthofurans in the samples suggest source rocks formed from mixed organic *** the pheny ldibenzofuran isomers,4-pheny ldibenzofuran was the most abundant while 1-phenyldibenzofuran was the *** ratio-1(PhFR-1)and pheny ldibenzofuran ratio-2(PhFR-2)values range from 0.13 to 1.20 and 0.11 to 2.11,*** resuls showed that the relative abundance of PhFR-1 and PhFR-2 increase gradually with increasing burial depth and maturity(VRo≤0.77%,MPI-1≤*** s 443℃),and have a good correlations with calculated vitrinite ***-I and maximum Temperature(Tmax)-This range of values suggested immature to early mature source *** source rocks were found to have shale and coul lithologics and deposited in a lacustrine/fuvial deltaic settings within immature to early mature stages based on the distribution of dibenzofurans,pheny ldiben-zofurans and benzo[b]naphthofurans in the source rock

This paper presents the attack tree modeling technique of quantifying cyber-attacks on a hypothetical school network system. Attack trees are constructed by decomposing the path in the network system where attacks are plausible. Considered for the network system are two possible network attack paths. One network path represents an attack through the Internet, and the other represents an attack through the Wireless Access Points (WAPs) in the school network. The probabilities of success of the events, that is, 1) the attack payoff, and 2) the commitment of the attacker to infiltrate the network are estimated for the leaf nodes. These are used to calculate the Returns on Attacks (ROAs) at the Root Nodes. For Phase I, the “As Is” network, the ROA values for both attack paths, are higher than 7 (8.00 and 9.35 respectively), which are high values and unacceptable operationally. In Phase II, countermeasures are implemented, and the two attack trees reevaluated. The probabilities of success of the events, the attack payoff and the commitment of the attacker are then re-estimated. Also, the Returns on Attacks (ROAs) for the Root Nodes are re-assessed after executing the countermeasures. For one attack tree, the ROA value of the Root Node was reduced to 4.83 from 8.0, while, for the other attack tree, the ROA value of the Root Node changed to 3.30 from 9.35. ROA values of 4.83 and 3.30 are acceptable as they fall within the medium value range. The efficacy of this method whereby, attack trees are deployed to mitigate computer network risks, as well as using it to assess the vulnerability of computer networks is quantitatively substantiated.
