A detailed radiometric survey including soil gas radon measurements and field gammaray survey, in accordance with geochemical and geological investigations were carried out in AlNassrieh Basin（central Syria）, for the purpose of uranium exploration. Thirty-six samples were collected from various lithofacies of the survey area and analyzed by γ-ray spectrometric technique for determining the concentration values of major radioelements. The relationships between the concentrations of equivalent e U, e Th, and their ratios were examined in order to define their trend of variations and evaluate the degree of uranium remobilization and redistribution. Although the initial results indicate that uranium enrichment is mostly restricted to the Upper Cretaceous phosphate rocks, a considerable portion of uranium appeared to be leached out of the primary phosphatic source and dispersed in the adjacent recent sediments. Further, notable increases of radon level associated with relatively high values of uranium concentration and gamma count rates were found to be spatially correlated with the transition zone between the marine Paleogene and continental Neogene formations throughout the study basin. This observation demonstrates the importance of the concerned zone as a suitable geological environment for hosting probable uranium mineralization along a chemically reducing interface where surface water of terrestrial and marine origin mingled at depth and away from surficial conditions.

Mechanical and structural properties of ternary system of TiN-TiO-TiC are investigated using first principle methods. 70 different compositions of Ti100(NOC)100 with cubic structure are examined in order to illustrate the trend of properties variations. The geometry of compounds is optimized, and then, their chemical stability is assessed. Afterward,shear, bulk and young moduli, Cauchy pressure, Zener ratio, hardness and H3/E2 ratio are computed based on elastic constants. Graphical ternary diagram is used to represent the trend of such properties when the content of nitrogen,oxygen and carbon varies. The results show that incorporation of oxygen into the system decreases the hardness and H^3/E^2 ratio while subsequently ductility increases due to positive Cauchy pressure. It is revealed that the maximum H^3/E^2 ratio occurs when both nitrogen and carbon with a little amount of oxygen are incorporated. Ti_(100) N_(30) C_(70) owns the highest hardness and H^3/E^2 ratio equal to 39.5 and 0.2 GPa, respectively. In addition, the G/B of this compound,which is about 0.9, shows it is brittle. It is also observed that the solid solutions have better mechanical properties with respect to titanium nitride and titanium carbide. The obtained results could be used to enhance monolayer coatings as well as to design multilayers with specific mechanical properties.

In recent building practice,rapid construction is one of the principal ***,in designing concrete structures,compressive strength is the most significant of all *** 3-d and 7-d compressive strength reflects the strengths at early phases,the ultimate strength is *** effort has been made in this study to develop mathematical models for predicting compressive strength of concrete incorporating ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA)at the later ***-Smirnov(KS)goodness-of-fit test was used to examine distribution of the *** compressive strength of EVA-modified concrete was studied by incorporating various concentrations of EVA as an admixture and by testing at ages of 28,56,90,120,210,and 365 *** accelerated compressive strength at 3.5 hours was considered as a reference strength on the basis of which all the specified strengths were predicted by means of linear regression *** on the results of KS goodness-of-fit test,it was concluded that KS test statistics value(D)in each case was lower than the critical value 0.521 for a significance level of 0.05,which demonstrated that the data was normally *** on the results of compressive strength test,it was concluded that the strength of EVA-modified specimens increased at all ages and the optimum dosage of EVA was achieved at 16%***,it was concluded that predicted compressive strength values lies within a 6%difference from the actual strength values for all the mixes,which indicates the practicability of the regression *** research work may help in understanding the role of EVA as a viable material in polymer-based cement composites.

Detailed micro-meso to macroscopic structural analyses reveal two deformation phases in the western limb of the Hazara-Kashmir Syntaxis（HKS）. Bulk top to NW shearing transformed initially symmetrical NNE-SSW trending meso to macroscopic folds from asymmetric to overturned ones without changing their trend. Sigmoidal en-echelon tension gashes developed during this deformation,that were oblique to bedding parallel worm burrows and bedding planes themselves. Strain analyses of deformed elliptical ooids using the Rf/Ф method constrain the internal strain patterns of the NNE-SSW structures. The principal stretching axis（S3） defined by deformed elliptical ooids is oriented N27°E at right angles to WNW-ESE shortening. The deformed elliptical ooids in sub-vertical bedding vertical planes contain ooids that plunge -70° SE due to NW-directed tectonic transport. Finite strain ratios are1.45（Rxy） parallel to bedding plane and 1.46（Ryz） for the vertical plane. From these 2D strain values, we derive an oblate strain ellipsoidal in 3D using the Flinn and Hsu/Nadai techniques. Strains calculated from deformed elliptical ooids average-18.10% parallel to bedding and-18.47% in the vertical ***, a balanced cross-section through the study area indicates a minimum of--28% ***, regional shortening was only partially accommodated by internal deformation.

Hydrocarbon production rates and distributions on ruthenium promoted alumina supported cobalt Fischer-Tropsch synthesis （FTS） catalyst were studied by the concept of two superimposed Anderson-Schulz-Flory （ASF） *** results indicated that the characterizing growth probabilities α1 and α2 were strongly dependent on reaction *** increasing the H2 /CO partial pressure ratios and reaction temperatures,deviation from normal ASF distribution decreases and the double-α-ASF distribution changes into a straight *** on the concept of double-α-ASF distribution,a useful rate equation for the production of hydrocarbons under industrial reaction conditions is obtained.
