The effect of the thick.ess of the dielectric boundary layer that connects amaterial of refractive index n1 to another of index n2 is considered for the propagation of an electromagnetic pulse.A qubit lattice algorithm(QLA),which consists of a specially chosen non-commuting sequence of collision and streaming operators acting on a basis set of qubits,is theoretically determined that recovers theMaxwell equations to second-order in a small parameterǫ.For very thin but continuous boundary layer the scattering properties of the pulse mimics that found from the Fresnel discontinuous jump conditions for a plane wave-except that the transmission to incident amplitudes are augmented by a factor of√n2/*** the boundary layer becomes thick.r one finds deviations away from the discontinuous Fresnel conditions and eventually one approaches the expectedWk. *** there is found a small but unusual dip in part of the transmitted pulse that persists in ***,the QLA simulations still recover the solutions to Maxwell equations even when this parameterǫ→*** examining the pulse propagation in medium n1,ǫcorresponds to the dimensionless speed of the pulse(in lattice units).

The impact of Joule heating due to electric double layer(EDL)and viscous dissipation on electroosmotic mixed convection flow in a vertical microchannel with asymmetric heat fluxes is established in this *** Poisson-Boltzmann,momentum and energy equations representing the electric potential,velocity profile and temperature distribution in the microchannel are obtained in dimensionless *** the Debye-Hück.l linearization,exact solutions are obtained for electric potential,velocity profile and temperature distributions by method of undetermined coefficients in the absence of viscous dissipation and Joule heating while an inbuilt Matlab function called pdepe is employed to solve the coupled nonlinear momentum and energy equations in the presence of Joule heating and viscous *** show that the presence of Joule heating and viscous dissipation lead to decrease in velocity profile and temperature distributions throughout the microchannel.

This paper presents an analytical solution for natural convection flow in a vertical annulus due to time-periodic heating of annulus ***-form expressions for velocity,temperature,sk.n-friction,mass flow rate and rate of heat transfer which is expressed as Nusselt number are obtained by solving the present mathematical model after separating into steady component and periodic *** effects of pertinent parameters such as Strouhal number(St),Prandtl number(Pr)and radius ratio(λ)are shown with the aid of contour and line *** indicate that the role of Strouhal number and Prandtl number is to decrease fluid velocity,temperature and ***,increase in Strouhal number increases the temperature phase-lag.

Energy levels, radiative rates, and lifetimes are calculated for all levels of 3s23p, 3s23d, 3s3p2, 3s3d2, 3s3p3d, 3p23d, 3s3d2, 3p3d2, 3p3, and 3d3 configurations of Al-lik. tungsten ion （W XLVII）. Multiconfigurational Dirac-Fock.（MCDF） method is adopted for calculating energy levels and radiative rates. Oscillator strengths, radiative rates, and line strengths are reported for some E1 transitions from the ground level. Comparisons are made with the available data in the literature and good agreement has been found which confirms the reliability of our results.

A compressive design and analysis of a turbofan engine is presented in this paper. The components of jet engine have been analyzed based on mechanical design concept. An attempt has been to select materials based on sustainability and green design considerations. The energy content （e） of the materials has been one of the parameters for material selection. The choice of material has a substantial impact on cost, manuthcturing process, and the life cycle efficiency. All components nose cone, fan blade, inlet shaft, including compressor has been solid modeled using Siemens NX 11.0 CAD software. The finite element analysis of every component was performed and found safe. A tolerance analysis was performed before assembly of the turbofan engine. A numerical analysis was completed on blade and inlet geometries to determine a more efficient turbofan engine. Thermal analysis was executed oi1 the cone and suitable corrections were made. Finally, the cost and the total energy were estimated to show how much energy is needed to manufacture a turbofan jet engine.

Elevational distribution of butterflies in the Himalayas: a case study from Langtang National Park. Nepal

Mountain ecosystems are relatively more vulnerable to climate change since human induced climate change is projected to be higher at high altitudes and latitudes. Climate change induced effects related to glacial response and water hazards have been documented in the Himalayas in recent years, yet studies regarding species' response to climate change are largely lack.ng from the mountains and Himalayas of Nepal. Changes in distribution and latitudinal/altitudinal range shift, which are primary adaptive responses to climate change in many species,are largely unk.own due to unavailability of adequate data from the past. In this study, we explored the elevational distribution of butterflies in Langtang Village Development Committee(VDC) of Langtang National park. a park.located in the high altitudes of Nepal. We found a decreasing species richness pattern along the elevational gradient considered ***, elevation did not appear to have a significant effect on the altitudinal distribution ofbutterflies at family level. Also, distribution of butterflies in the area was independent of habitat type,at family level. Besides, we employed indicator group analysis(at family level) and noticed that butterfly families Papilionidae, Riodinidae, and Nymphalidae are significantly associated to high, medium and low elevational zone mak.ng them indicator butterfly family for those elevational zones, respectively. We expect that this study could serve as a baseline information for future studies regarding climate change effects and range shifts and provide avenues for further exploration of butterflies in the high altitudes of Nepal.
