Time series forecasting plays a significant role in numerous applications,including but not limited to,industrial planning,water consumption,medical domains,exchange rates and consumer price *** main problem is insufficient forecasting *** present study proposes a hybrid forecastingmethods to address this *** proposed method includes three *** first model is based on the autoregressive integrated moving average(ARIMA)statistical model;the second model is a back propagation neural network(BPNN)with adaptive slope and momentum parameters;and the thirdmodel is a hybridization between ARIMA and BPNN(ARIMA/BPNN)and artificial neural networks and ARIMA(ARIMA/ANN)to gain the benefits of linear and *** forecasting models proposed in this study are used to predict the indices of the consumer price index(CPI),and predict the expected number of cancer patients in the Ibb Province in *** standard measures used to evaluate the proposed method include(i)mean square error,(ii)mean absolute error,(iii)root mean square error,and(iv)mean absolute percentage *** on the computational results,the improvement rate of forecasting the CPI dataset was 5%,71%,and 4%for ARIMA/BPNN model,ARIMA/ANN model,and BPNN model respectively;while the result for cancer patients’dataset was 7%,200%,and 19%for ARIMA/BPNNmodel,ARIMA/ANN model,and BPNNmodel ***,it is obvious that the proposed method reduced the randomness degree,and the alterations affected the time series with data *** ARIMA/ANN model outperformed each of its components when it was applied separately in terms of increasing the accuracy of forecasting and decreasing the overall errors of forecasting.

Surface functionalization of blast furnace slag with sulfamic acid(a zwitterion)was performed for the removal of Cr^(3+)and methylene blue dye(MB)from water *** slag functionalization process was optimized using Response Surface Methodology *** analysis of the parameters that include the sulfamic acid amount(A),reaction time(B),and temperature(C)revealed that(A)increase had a negative effect on the adsorption of both pollutants by the zwitterion slag,whereas(B)and(C)increase presented a positive *** the optimum condition of 2 g sulfamic acid amount,50 min reaction time and 37℃ temperature,the prepared slag showed a removal efficiency of more than 90% for both Cr^(3+)and *** characterization by SEM/EDS,FTIR,XPS and surface area analyser,showed an improvement in surface properties and the incorporation of zwitterionic NH^(2+)and S=O groups of sulfamic *** isotherm and kinetic studies conducted with the zwitterion slag showed the adsorption process was suited to Freundlich isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetic *** thermodynamic study conducted revealed the spontaneity of the process based on the calculated negativeΔG(Gibb’s free energy)*** prepared zwitterion slag offered easy regeneration with dilute HCl solution and showed a considerable removal(Cr^(3+):65% and MB:80%)for both pollutants even after 3 cycles of usage.

Date palm fiber(DPF)derived from agrowaste was utilized as a new precursor for the optimized synthesis of a costeffective,nanostructured,powderactivated carbon(nPAC)for aluminum(al3+)removal from aqueous solutions using carbonization,KOH activation,response surface methodology(RSM)and central composite design(CCD).The optimum synthesis condition,activation temperature,time and impregnation ratio were found to be 650℃,1.09 hour and 1:1,***,the optimum conditions for removal were 99.5%and 9.958 mgg 1 in regard to uptake *** optimum conditions of nPAC was analyzed and characterized using XRD,FTIR,FESEM,BET,TGA and Zeta ***,the adsorption of the al3+conditions was optimized with an integrated RSMCCD experimental *** results revealed that the adsorption kinetics data was well fitted by the pseudosecond order model,whereas the adsorption isotherm data was best represented by the Freundlich isotherm *** activated carbon indicated that DPF can serve as a costeffective precursor adsorbent for al^(3+)removal.

Cannibalism is an intriguing life history trait, that has been considered primarily in the predator, in predator–prey population models. Recent experimental evidence shows that prey cannibalism can have a significant impact on predator–prey population dynamics in natural communities. Motivated by these experimental results, we investigate a ratio-dependent Holling–Tanner model, where cannibalism occurs simultaneously in both the predator and prey species. We show that depending on parameters, whilst prey or predator cannibalism acting alone leads to instability, their joint effect can actually stabilize the unstable interior equilibrium. Furthermore, in the spatially explicit model, we find that depending on parameters, prey and predator cannibalism acting jointly can cause spatial patterns to form, while not so acting individually. We discuss ecological consequences of these findings in light of food chain dynamics, invasive species control and climate change.
