Rem.val of Aniline Blue from.Aqueous Solutions Using Ce1-xBixCrO3 (x = 0, 0.5, 1)

The rem.val of aniline blue dye from.aqueous solutions using the A-site doped perovskite Ce1-xBixCrO3 (x = 0, 0.5, 1) was investigated. The perovskite oxides were synthesised using Sol-Gel m.thod and characterised by conventional powder X-ray diffraction technique. The X-ray diffraction m.asurem.nts suggested that doping with Bism.th Ion influences both the crystal structure and the particle size of the oxides, and consequently affects the adsorption properties. It was found that both CeCrO3 and Ce0.5Bi0.5CrO3 com.ounds are orthorhom.ic and have approxim.te particle size of 87 and 36 nm.respectively, whereas BiCrO3 oxide has rhom.ohedral space group sym.etry and the particle sizes are less than 49 nm. The batch m.de study dem.nstrated that the rem.val capacities of Aniline Blue at 150 m.n and pH = 4.3 for Ce0.5Bi0.5CrO3, CeCrO3 and BiCrO3 are 779.67, 705.45 and 440.18 m./g respectively. The results reflect the influence of the A site doping on the adsorption properties of the oxides. The rem.val of Aniline Blue was found to be negatively correlated with tem.erature and pH.

The Fava Beans were used in this work as low cost adsorbent m.terial for rem.val of Pb(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) ions from.aqueous solutions. The sam.les were prepared without farther treatm.nt and sorted according to the particles diam.ter by standard sieves 250 - 500 μm. Batch adsorption experim.nts were carried out to study the adsorption process, several param.ters such as Initial pH of adsorbent, effect of contact tim., effect of adsorbent am.unt and effect of m.tal concentration were conducted in these experim.nts. The effects of any one of those previously m.ntioned param.ters on the adsorption capacity were studied while the other param.ters were kept constant. It was found that the obtained m.xim.m.adsorption capacities of Fave beans for the rem.val of selected heavy m.tals were very high. This provide us to use Fava beans as a low coast adsorbent m.terial to clean up the water in the environm.nt from.toxic heavy m.tals such as Pb(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) ions.

m.dification on Synthesis of m.xed Ligand Chelates by Using Di- and Trivalent Transition m.tal Ions with Schiff Base as Prim.ry Ligand

New m.xed ligand chelates synthesized from.di-and trivalent m.tal ions (Cr, Co, Ni, and Cu ions) and Schiff base (L1) resulted from.the condensation of 4-dim.thylam.nobenzaldehyde with 2-am.nophenol as prim.ry ligand, whereas 2-nitroaniline (L2) represents the secondary ligand in a m.lar ratio of m.L1:L2 [1:1:1]. The synthesized Schiff base and chelates have been characterized by using several tools, such as, elem.ntal analysis, m.lar conductivity, m.gnetic m.m.nt m.asurem.nts, infrared and electronic spectra. The m.ss spectra of the ligands and Ni(II) chelate were used to justify the process of m.dification, as well as, the electron param.gnetic resonance spectrum.which was carried out for Cu(II) chelate all in order to elucidate the chem.cal and geom.trical structure of the chelates. On the basis of the obtained data, the geom.try of the products was proposed for all the chelates.
