Extra-Oral Digital Panoramic Radiographic Interpretation and Clinical Findings of Stage IV Periodontitis among Some Samples Concerning Saudi/Non-Saudi Nationality

Background: There are associations between the severity of periodontal diseases and some predisposing factors, such as age, race, and income rate. Therefore, the present study was designed to evaluate the extra-oral digital panoramic radiographic interpretation and clinical findings of stage IV periodontitis among some samples concerning Saudi/non-Saudi nationality. material and methods: The study comprised a random sample of 298 residents in Saudi Arabia referred to the internship program clinics at the College of Dentistry, King Khalid University. They were according to the age of participants as follows: youth (15 - 24 years), adults (25 - 64 years), and seniors (65 years and over) within two groups according to nationality (Saudi and non-Saudi). Clinical periodontal examination and radiographic extra oral digital panoramic radiographs were done, and then the periodontal parameters, the percentage of bone loss, and the pattern of bone loss were recorded. The data was collected, and the statistical analysis was performed with ANOVA test, Tukey’s test, Chi-square test, and T-test and considered a P-value at (p Results: The samples included 62 (20%) youth participants with mean of age (21.806 ± 3.390), 182 (57%) adults’ participants with mean age (42.802 ± 9.094), and 54 (23%) seniors participants with a mean age (69.074 ± 6.810). There were highly statistically significant differences in the comparison between the participants’ ages (P 0.05). Conclusion: At the end of this study, we concluded that there are alterations in clinical and radiographic and clinical findings of stage IV periodontitis with the alteration of participants’ ages and nationality.

Five perovskite ceramics samples of Ba_(1-x)Er_(x)SnO_(3) with x=0.00,0.05,0.10,0.15,and 0.20 were synthesized using the conventional solid-state reaction *** prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transforms infrared(FTIR),and UV-Vis *** shielding properties against ionizing radiation were also *** XRD analysis shows the perovskite cubic structure as the major phase in all *** FTIR reveals a distinctive band around 614-620 cm^(-1) ascribed to the antisymmetric O-Sn-O ***-Vis spectroscopy was used to determine the bandgap according to diffuse reflectance,and the results display a fixed enhancement in the bandgap from 3.2 to 3.3 eV for all ***-ray shielding properties of the synthesized samples were experimentally measured and compared with XCOm computational *** relative differences(Δ,%)between experimental and theo retical values are low and fall within the 0.446%-7.10%*** addition of Er leads to the enhanced density,neutron,and gamma shielding *** contrast,charged particles’shielding parameters gradually reduce with rising Er *** results suggest that Ba_(1-x)Er_(x)SnO_(3) samples can be used in different radiation shielding applications.

Sunitinib Reduces Acute myeloid Leukemia Clonogenic Cells in Vitro and Has Potent Inhibitory Effect on Sorted AmL ALDH+ Cells

Sunitinib is an orally administered, multi-target tyrosine kinase inhibitor that has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma and imatinib resistant gastro-intestinal tumors. Anti-leukemic activity of sunitinib has been examined in early clinical trials with limited success. However, recent trials on acute myeloid leukemia (AmL) patients carrying FLT3 mutations have shown promising results. Effects of sunitinib on leukemic clonogenic cells and potential leukemic stem cells have not been examined so far. We analyzed the anti-proliferative and apoptotic properties of sunitinib on AmL-derived cell lines. We also tested the effect of sunitinib on AmL patient derived clonogenic cells (AmL-CFC), as well as flow-sorted potential leukemic progenitors. Peripheral blood or bone marrow samples were obtained from newly diagnosed AmL patients and flow sorted for CD34+ CD133+ or ALDH+ cells. Umbilical cord blood derived CD34+ cells were used as normal controls. Sunitinib induced growth arrest and apoptosis in AmL derived cell lines. In addition, 7 μm sunitinib induced 75% reduction of AmL-CFC as compared to DmSO treated control (±6.79%;n = 4). In contrast, 7 μm sunitinib treatment of umbilical cord blood derived normal CD34+ cells showed 29% reduction in AmL-CFC (±6.77%;n = 5). Treatment of ALDH+ cells sorted from 2 AmL cases and CD34+ CD133+ cells from one patient showed reduction of AmL-CFC on treatment with sunitinib. Our study highlighted a potent anti-proliferative and proapoptotic effect of sunitinib on AmL cell lines, AmL patient derived clonogenic cells and potential leukemic stem cells.

The Common Complications and Comorbidities among Saudi Diabetic Patients in Northern Saudi Arabia

Background: Diabetes mellitus (Dm), is a group of metabolic disorders in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period with great harmful consequences, including cardiovascular and neurological complications, diabetic retinopathy, and diabetic nephropathy. Therefore, the objective of this study was to find out the common complications and comorbidities among diabetic Saudi patients in Northern Saudi Arabia. methodology: Records of 50 diabetic patients were retrieved from King Khalid Hospital, Hail, Saudi Arabia. Different complications and comorbidities were documented and investigated. Results: Peripheral neuropath, retinopathy, diabetic septic foot, and amputation were identified among 40%, 38%, 14%, and 4%, correspondingly. Out of the 50 patients, 12 (24%), 18 (36%) and 8 (16%) were detected with thyroid diseases, dyslipidemia and renal complications, respectively. Conclusion: Hypertension, peripheral neuropathy, dyslipidemia, retinopathy, kidney complications and diabetic septic food represent the major complications and/or comorbidities among diabetic Saudi patients in northern Saudi Arabia. These complications and/or comorbidities must be well thought-out in epidemiological studies, so as to display disease burden and quality of diabetes care.

In response to the global food crisis and the imperative to address soil degradation, the international agricultural policy is actively working to alleviate the adverse impacts of soil salinity. As part of this initiative, a field trial spanning two consecutive seasons (2019/20-2020/21) was conducted under saline conditions. The primary objective was to evaluate the influence of various compost sources, including vermicompost at a rate of 0.5 ton·fed-1 and plant residues compost at a rate of 5.0 ton·fed-1, as main plots. Subplots were established by applying agricultural gypsum, both in the presence and absence of gypsum requirements. Additionally, sub-subplots were created by externally applying cobalt at a rate of 10.0 mg·L-1, with one sub-subplot receiving foliar cobalt application and the other not. The trial sought to assess the growth performance, chemical composition, enzymatic antioxidants, yield, and quality of cabbage plants (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.) cultivated in saline soil. According to the findings, cabbage plants exhibited the most favorable response in terms of plant height, chlorophyll content, carotene levels, leaf area, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), head yield, vitamin C, and total dissolved solids (TDS) when treated with vermicompost, followed by plant compost. Conversely, plants grown without compost exhibited the least improvement in performance. Cabbage treated with agricultural gypsum requirements showed better performance than those without gypsum amendment. moreover, plants subjected to cobalt spray demonstrated the highest growth, yield, and quality parameters compared to those without cobalt foliar application. In contrast, the control group (plants without the studied treatments) displayed the highest levels of enzymatic antioxidants, specifically catalase and peroxidase. This indicates that soil salinity stress led to an increase in catalase and peroxidase production in cabbage

In this study,SrFe12-xTbxO19(0.00≤x≤0.1)hexaferrites(HFs)were prepared successfully by citrate solgel approach.X-ray powder diffraction analyses affirm the hexagonal structure of *** phase starts to appear for x≥*** crystallites sizes were estimated to be in the range of 33-46 *** the products exhibit inhomogeneous distribution of grain size detected through *** analyses of magnetization versus applied magnetic field,m(H),were *** measurements were done at room(300 K;RT)and low(10 K)*** different magnetic parameters including saturation magnetization ms,remanence mr,squareness ratio(SQR=mr/ms),coercivity Hc,and magnetic moment nB are deduced and discussed in *** both considered temperatures,m(H)results show ferrimagnetic nature for all *** is shown that the Tb substitutions significantly affect m(H)data.A significant increase in the ms,mr,and nB is observed for x=0.02 *** SQR values are around 0.5 indicating the single domain nature with uniaxial *** obtained magnetic results were investigated deeply with relation to structural and microstructural *** spectroscopy results were also *** to mossbauer results,the Tb3+ions preferentially occupy 12 k and 4f2 sites.
