Body condition score prior to parturition is associated with plasma and adipose tissue biomarkers of lipid metabolism and inflammation in Holstein cows

Background: Previous research has revealed a strong inflammatory response within adipose(AT) tissue during the transition into lactation. Whether this effect is a result of oxidative stress induced by lipolysis and fatty acid oxidation associated with differences in prepartum body condition score remains to be determined. The objectives of this study were to investigate systemic biomarkers of energy balance and inflammation and the expression of lipid metabolismand inflammation-related genes in AT during the transition period in dairy ***: Twenty multiparous Holstein cows were retrospectively divided by body condition score(BCS) prior to parturition into two groups(10 cows/group): BCS ≤ 3.25(Lo BCS) and BCS ≥ 3.75(Hi BCS). Subcutaneous adipose tissue was biopsied from the tail-head region at d-10, 7 and 20 relative to parturition. Plasma was used to evaluate biomarkers of energy balance(EBal) [free fatty acids(NEFA), glycerol, insulin] and inflammation [IL-1β, haptoglobin, myeloperoxidase, and reactive oxygen metabolites(ROM)]. although insulin concentration was not affected by BCS, NEFA was overal greater and glycerol lower in HiB CS cows. Greater activity of myeloperoxidase in plasma coincided with increased haptoglobin and IL-1β postpartum in LoB CS *** genes related with oxidative stress, the expression of the cytosolic antioxidant enzyme SOD1 was greater in LoB CS compared to HiB CS. Cows in LoB CS compared with HiB CS had greater overal expression of ABDH5 and ATGL along with ADIPOQ, indicating enhanced basal lipolysis and secretion of adiponectin. Expression of CPT1 A, ACADVL, and ACOX1 was greater overal in HiB CS than LoB CS indicating enhanced NEFA oxidation. although the temporal increase in plasma NEFA regardless of BCS coincided with the profile of CPT1 A, the gradual decrease in genes related with reesterification of NEFA(PCK1) and glycerol efflux(AQP7) coupled with an increase in glycerol kinase(GK) suggested some stimulation of NEFA u

Pure bitumen is not suitable for heavy traffic loads;hence modifiers are used to improve the bitumen ***,cup lump rubber(CLR)has become a preferred modifier due to its outstanding performance and less ***,little is known about the interactions between CLR and ***,this study investigates the behavior of bitumen with *** percentages of CLR(2.5%,5.0%,7.5%,and 10.0%by weight of bitumen)were used to modify conventional 60/70 penetration grade *** modified bitumen was evaluated through different laboratory testing such as dynamic shear rheometer,rotational viscosity,softening point,bending beam rheometer,ductility,and elastic *** testing results show that the addition of CLR increased the bitumen’s rutting resistance by 3 PG grades at high *** low pavement temperatures,the cup lump rubber modified bitumen(CMB)can withstand up to−34℃.Fourier Transform Infrared(FTIR)analysis shows that the Aromaticity index at 1600 cm^(−1) rose as the CLR percentage increased,indicating the formation of a binder with a compact *** is expected to improve the elasticity of bitumen throughπ-π*** Force Microscopy(AFM)results showed the Catana phase increased in size and quantity at 5.0%and 7.5%CLR *** contact angle measurement revealed that the binders are hydrophobic and tend to repel the dropped water on the bitumen surface.

本文介绍了基于RS-485通信协议的远程智能办公控制系统的基本原理。该系统主要包括个人计算机、接口工具和收发装置。利用PC串行端口和ART电缆在PC遥控器和微控制器之间建立通信,当数据信号转换为RS-485信号后,可以远距离(高达4000英尺)发送和接收数据,实现信号长距离传输。本文借助Visual Basic平台,利用C语言对微控制器(pic16f960)进行程,利用RS-232实现PC远程控制器和微控制器(pic16f960)之间实现串行连接。基于上述方法,用户可以轻松读取驱动程序在LCD模块上发送的数据。此外,本文利用RS-485的操作原理将RS-232信号转换成RS-485信号,以便其长距离传输。接收器则将RS-485信号转换回原始信号,供单片机使用,进而实现用户远程控制办公设备的开启与关闭。本文研究了RS-485使用的双绞线电缆的电气性能,与其他电缆相比,双绞线电缆抗干扰能力强,价格相对便宜。通过对该系统样机的测试,验证了该系统理论的可行性。

Endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) guided drainage of pancreatic fluid collections(PFC) has become increasingly popular and become first line management option in many centers. Use of therapeutic echoendoscopes has greatly increased the applicability of EUS guided transmural drainage. Drainage is indicated in symptomatic PFCs, PFC related infection, bleed, luminal obstruction, fistulization and biliary obstruction. EUS guided transmural drainage of PFCs is preferred in patients with non bulging lesions, portal hypertension, bleeding tendency and in those whom conventional drainage has failed. In the present decade significant progress has been made in minimally invasive endoscopic techniques. There are newer stent designs, access devices and techniques for more efficient drainage of PFCs. In this review, we discuss the EUS guided drainage of PFCs in acute pancreatitis.

Bullous Pemphigoid Induced by Doxycycline: Case Report and Literature Review

Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is the most prevalent autoimmune sub-epidermal blistering disease that affects mainly the elderly and could lead to serious morbidity. It has numerous risk factors and triggers, including an aging population with several comorbidities and drug exposure. In the published paper, we reported a case about a 32 years old male patient with unknown medical conditions who presented with erythematous patches and plaques on the scalp, face, and trunk with scattered blisters two weeks after initiating doxycycline treatment for folliculitis. The exact pathogenesis of the drug-reaction in drug- associated bullous pemphigoid (DABP) remains controversial. In conclusion, it is crucial for clinicians to be aware of DABP when prescribing doxycycline. The purpose of this case report is to raise awareness of the possible association between bullous pemphigoid and doxycycline.
