The present paper explains the temperature attribute of a convective-radiative rectangular profiled annular fin with the impact of magnetic *** effect of thermal radiation,convection,and magnetic field on thermal stress distribution is also studied in this *** governing energy equation representing the steady-state heat conduction,convection,and radiation process is transformed into its dimensionless nonlinear ordinary differential equation(ODE)with corresponding boundary conditions using non-dimensional *** obtained ODE is then solved analytically by employing the Pade approximant-differential transform method(DTm)and modified residual power series method(mRPSm).moreover,the important characteristics of the temperature field,the thermal stress,and the impact of some nondimensional parameters are inspected graphically,and a physical explanation is provided to aid in *** significant findings of the investigation reveal that temperature distribution enhances with an increase in the magnitude of the heat generation parameter and thermal conductivity parameter,but it gradually decreases with an increment of convectiveconductive parameter,Hartmann number,and radiative-conductive *** thermal stress distribution of the fin varies considerably in the applied magnetic field effect.

High photovoltages and power conversion efciencies of perovskite solar cells(PSCs)can be realized by controlling the undesired nonradiative charge carrier ***,we introduce a judicious amount of guanidinium iodide into mixed-cation and mixed-halide perovskite flms to suppress the parasitic charge carrier recombination,which enabled the fabrication of>20%efcient and operationally stable PSCs yielding reproducible photovoltageas high as 1.20 *** introducing guanidinium iodide into the perovskite precursor solution,the bandgap of the resulting absorber material changed minimally;however,the nonradiative recombination diminished considerably as revealed by time-resolved photoluminescence and electroluminescence ***,using capacitance-frequency measurements,we were able to correlate the hysteresis features exhibited by the PSCs with interfacial charge *** study opens up a path to realize new record efciencies for PSCs based on guanidinium iodide doped perovskite flms.

Short-term traffic flow prediction (TFP) is an important area inintelligent transportation system (ITS), which is used to reduce traffic congestion. But the avail of traffic flow data with temporal features and periodicfeatures are susceptible to weather conditions, making TFP a challengingissue. TFP process are significantly influenced by several factors like accidentand weather. Particularly, the inclement weather conditions may have anextreme impact on travel time and traffic flow. Since most of the existing TFPtechniques do not consider the impact of weather conditions on the TF, it isneeded to develop effective TFP with the consideration of extreme weatherconditions. In this view, this paper designs an artificial intelligence based TFPwith weather conditions (AITFP-WC) for smart cities. The goal of the AITFPWC model is to enhance the performance of the TFP model with the inclusionof weather related conditions. The proposed AITFP-WC technique includesElman neural network (ENN) model to predict the flow of traffic in smartcities. Besides, tunicate swarm algorithm with feed forward neural networks(TSA-FFNN) model is employed for the weather and periodicity analysis. Atlast, a fusion of TFP and WPA processes takes place using the FFNN modelto determine the final prediction output. In order to assess the enhancedpredictive outcome of the AITFP-WC model, an extensive simulation analysisis carried out. The experimental values highlighted the enhanced performanceof the AITFP-WC technique over the recent state of art methods.

AIm: To assess the prevalence of nutritional disorders in children with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) in Saudi ***: The data from a national cohort of children newly diagnosed with IBD between 2003 and 2012 were analyzed. The diagnosis of IBD and the differentiation between Crohn's disease(CD) and ulcerative colitis(UC) were confirmed by gastroenterologists according to the standard criteria. The body mass index(BmI) of each child [weight(kg)/height^2(m)] was calculated at the time of diagnosis. The World Health Organization standards and references were used and the BmI for age > +1 and med to investigate any age-related variation in the prevalence of nutritional status between children m 0.33 to 17 years of age, including 119(32%) children with UC and 255(68%) with CD. All of the children were Saudi nationals, and 68(57%) of the UC and 150(59%) of the CD children were males. A positive history of anorexia at the time of diagnosis was found in 30(25%) patients with UC and 99(39%) patients with CD. The prevalence of thinness was 31%, 35% and 24% in children with IBD, CD and UC, respectively, with a significantly higher prevalence of thinness in children with CD than in children with UC(P = 0.037) only in the age group of 10-17 years(P = 0.030). The prevalence of overweight was 16 %, 15% and 20 % in the children with IBD, CD and UC, respectively, indicating a higher prevalence in UC that was statistically significant only in the age group of 10-17 years(P = 0.020). CONCLUSION: A high proportion of children with IBD presented with overweight instead of the classical underweight. Awareness of this finding is important for patient care.

Earth resource and environmental monitoring are essential areas that can be used to investigate the environmental conditions and natural resources supporting sustainable policy development,regulatory measures,and their implementation elevating the ***-scale forest fire is considered a major harmful hazard that affects climate change and life over the ***,the early identification of forest fires using automated tools is essential to avoid the spread of fire to a large ***,this paper focuses on the design of automated forest fire detection using a fusion-based deep learning(AFFD-FDL)model for environmental *** AFFDFDL technique involves the design of an entropy-based fusion model for feature *** combination of the handcrafted features using histogram of gradients(HOG)with deep features using SqueezeNet and Inception v3 ***,an optimal extreme learning machine(ELm)based classifier is used to identify the existence of fire or *** order to properly tune the parameters of the ELm model,the oppositional glowworm swarm optimization(OGSO)algorithm is employed and thereby improves the forest fire detection performance.A wide range of simulation analyses takes place on a benchmark dataset and the results are inspected under several *** experimental results highlighted the betterment of the AFFD-FDL technique over the recent state of art techniques.

AIm: To analyze experiences to identify treatment outcomes and prognostic factors in a Saudi ***: medical records of patients with brainstem gliomas treated from July 2001 to December 2012 were reviewed to identify treatment outcomes of surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy and associated prognostic factors in a Saudi ***: We analyzed 49 brain stem glioma(BSG) patients from July 2001 to December 2012; 31 of them were males(63.3%) with a median age of 12.6 years(range: 8-64 mo). Twenty-two patients(44.9%) had diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas(DIPG) and 15(30.6%) presented with focal/tectal BSG. Histopathology was available in 30 patients(61.2%). median survival time for the whole cohort was 1.5 years. One and two year OS rates were 51.1% and 41.9% respectively. Two year OS rates for focal/tectal, dorsally exophytic, cervicomedullary and DIPG tumors were 60%, 33.3%, 33.3% and 13.6% respectively(P 18 years) P = 0.01, KPS mptoms(maximal resection) P = 0.002, and concurrent chemotherapy with radiation therapy in DIPG(better if given) P = ***: BSG, especially the DIPG subgroup, had a dismal prognosis, needing more aggressive neurosurgical, radiation and chemotherapy techniques, while focal and tectal tumors were found to have a better prognosis.

Fasting in Ramadan Affects Cognitive and Physiological Function in Normal Subjects (Pilot Study)

Purpose: Our study aimed to investigate the effects of Ramadan fasting on cognitive and physiological function in a group of healthy muslim subjects. methods: We measured demographic, physiological (blood pressure), and cognitive function including attention switching task (AST) and delayed matching to sample (DmS) using the Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery (CANTAB) at two periods of the study (before Ramadan, at the second week in Ramadan) in 15 subjects. Results: During fasting, performance on the AST test improved significantly for switching cost (p = 0.030) and for congruent condition of AST task (p = 0.043), for diastolic pressure decreased (p = 0.069) in healthy subjects. There was no significant effect for incongruent condition and number of errors and percent to complete task for DmS test and systolic blood pressure. Conclusions: The results suggest that Ramadan fasting is associated with significant changes in cognition, and causes a drop in diastolic blood pressure in healthy subject.

Availability, Performance and Reliability Evaluation for PV Distributed Generation

Nowadays, renewable energy resources play an important role in replacing conventional energy resources such as fossil fuel by integrating solar, wind and geothermal energy. Photovoltaic energy is one?of?the very promising renewable energy resources which grew rapidly in the past few years, it can be used to produce electric energy through photovoltaic process. The primary objective of the research proposed in this paper is to facilitate the increasing penetration levels of PV systems in the electric distribution networks. In this work, the PV module electrical model is presented based on the mathematical equations and was implemented on mATLAB to simulate the non-linear characteristics I-V and P-V curves with variable input parameters which are irradiance and temperature based on Riyadh region. In addition, the reliability evaluation of distribution networks, including distributed generators of solar photovoltaic (PV) with varying output power capacity is presented also. The monte Carlo simulation algorithm is applied to test the distribution network which is RBTS Bus 2 and the same has been conducted on the original case of distribution network substation 7029 which is located at KSA Riyadh. The two distribution networks have been modified to include the PV’s distributed generators. The distributed generators contribute to supply a part of the load during normal mode and supply the entire load during component failure or failure of grid operation supply. The PV stochastic models have been used to simulate the randomness of these resources. moreover, the study shows that the implementation and integration of renewable resources as distributed generations have improved the reliability of the distribution networks.

An Improved Convolutional Neural Network model for DNA Classification

Recently,deep learning(DL)became one of the essential tools in bioinformatics.A modified convolutional neural network(CNN)is employed in this paper for building an integratedmodel for deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA)*** any CNN model,convolutional layers are used to extract features followed by max-pooling layers to reduce the dimensionality of features.A novel method based on downsampling and CNNs is introduced for feature *** downsampling is an improved form of the existing pooling layer to obtain better classification *** two-dimensional discrete transform(2D DT)and two-dimensional random projection(2D RP)methods are applied for *** convert the high-dimensional data to low-dimensional data and transform the data to the most significant feature ***,there are parameters which directly affect how a CNN model is *** this paper,some issues concerned with the training of CNNs have been *** CNNs are examined by changing some hyperparameters such as the learning rate,size of minibatch,and the number of *** and assessment of the performance of CNNs are carried out on 16S rRNA bacterial *** results indicate that the utilization of a CNN based on wavelet subsampling yields the best trade-off between processing time and accuracy with a learning rate equal to 0.0001,a size of minibatch equal to 64,and a number of epochs equal to 20.

Efficacy of intragastric balloon on weight reduction:Saudi perspective

AIm To evaluate the safety and efficacy of intragastric balloon(IGB) in weight reduction in obese patients referred to a tertiary hospital in the Kingdom of Saudi *** Three hundred and one consecutive obese individuals, who underwent IGB placement during January 2009 to may 2015, were analyzed. The subjects aged 18 to 60 years and had a minimum body mass index(BmI) of 27 kg/m^2. The IGB was placed under conscious sedation and kept for 6 mo. Anthropometric measurements were recorded during and after 6 mo of IGB *** The body weight, excess body weight, and BmI were significantly reduced at the time of IGB removal and 6 mo later. Body weight loss > 10% was achieved in 224 subjects at removal of IGB. End of treatment success and long-term success were both significantly observed in women(70 vs 11)(71 vs 12.5) respectively. Excess BmI loss was significantly higher in subjects retaining the IGB for over 6 mo both at the removal [43.44 ± 19.46(n = 221) vs 55.60 ± 28.69(n = 80); t = 4.19, P = 0.0001] as well as at the end of 6 mo' follow-up [46.57 ± 24.89(n = 221) vs 63.52 ± 31.08(n = 80); t = 4.87, P = 0.0001]. Within 3 d of IGB placement, two subjects developed pancreatitis and one subject developed cardiac arrhythmia. Intestinal obstruction due to displacement of IGB occurred in two subjects. Allthese subjects recovered uneventfully after immediate removal of the IGB. CONCLUSION IGB was effective in our cohorts. The observed weight reduction was maintained for at least 6 mo post IGB removal. IGB placement was safe with a satisfactory tolerance rate.
