Periodontal Tissue Status among Mental Retardation Patients with Fixed Prosthodontic Appliances

Background: The mental, physical and social impediments cause limitation of chances in normal life as an equal level with others of the community;particularly in relation to maintain good oral hygiene and periodontal health among the disabled patients who were receiving fixed partial denture. So the present study was performed to evaluate the periodontal tissue status among mental retardation patients with fixed prosthodontic appliances. Subjects and Methods: A total of 400 patients between the ages 18 and 50 years were clinically selected from outpatient clinics, college of dentistry, King Khalid University and rehabilitation center in Abha city, Saudi Arabia. They were divided into two equal groups as the following: group I: Two hundred mental retardation patients without fixed prosthodontic appliances (control group) and, group II: Two hundred mental retardation patients had fixed prosthodontic appliances for at least a year ago. A complete periodontal clinical examination was performed and the following indices were recorded: plaque index (PLI), gingival index (GI), and clinical attachment loss (CAL). All data was recorded and analyzed by ANOVA test. Results: The clinical results of the present study confirmed the relationship among the mental retardation, fixed prosthodontic appliances and destruction of periodontal tissues. It has been found that the severity of periodontal disease increases among the study group compared to the control group. Statistically significant differences were found in PLI, GI and CAL in the comparison between group I and II (p Conclusion: There was a negative relationship between mental retardation with a status of periodontal tissues and oral hygiene among the patients under fixed prosthodontic management.

Ameliorative properties of Iranian Trigonella foenum-graecum L. seeds and Punica granatum L. peel extracts in streptozotocin-induced experimental diabetic guinea pigs

Objective: To assess the ameliorative properties of Iranian Trigonella foenum-graecum L.(T. foenum-graecum) seeds and Punica granatum L.(P. granatum) peel extracts against streptozotocin-induced diabetes in male guinea ***: Sixty guinea pigs were divided into six groups(10 guinea pigs per group).Group 1 consisted of normal animals. Groups 2 and 3 were treated with Iranian T. foenum-graecum seeds and P. granatum peel extract alone, respectively. Group 4 was treated with streptozotocin only; whereas Groups 5 and 6 receiving streptozotocin were treated with Iranian T. foenum-graecum seeds and P. granatum peel extract, *** animals were treated for 30 days, and the body weight, blood and liver biochemical parameters were ***: Guinea pigs exposed to streptozotocin showed an alteration in body weight gain, fasting glucose level, kidney function parameters(blood urea nitrogen and creatinine) as well as decreased serum and hepatic total protein level. In addition, it increased the cholesterol and triglyceride level, while decreasing the hepatic glucose-6 phosphate dehydrogenase activity, glycogen, glutathione content and hepatic catalase activity. Oral treatment with T. foenum-graecum seeds and P. granatum peel extracts revealed significant protective properties with respect to body weight gain and other biochemical parameters ***: The Iranian T. foenum-graecum seeds and P. granatum peel extracts are significantly potent in ameliorating diabetic condition induced by streptozotocin and improving various biochemical parameters in serum and liver of guinea pigs.

Objective: To focus on the analysis of chemical constituents of the Thymus vulgaris L.(locally known as "Zaitra" or "Za'atar"; Family: Lamiaceae) which is available in the market of Saudi ***: The Zaitra oil was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The mass spectra were compared with the standard spectra available in National Institute Standard and Technique ***: The results indicated that the Thymus oil is composed of many chemical compounds including a pinene, thymol and caryophyllene which are biologically active and also used in various ***: It can be concluded that the Thymus vulgaris due to presence of many bioactive compounds can be used as a new potential source of medicine for the treatment of various types of illness.

Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia is a common phenomenon shortly after birth and a frequent cause of prolonged hospitalization[1].Increased enterohepatic circulation of indirect bilirubin is one of the elucidated mechanisms implicated in the pathophysiology of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia[2,3].According to various in vitro and in vivo evidence from animal[3]and human[2]trials,zinc salts have been depicted to reduce bilirubin levels.

Nano-crystallites Imine-based Copper(II) Complexes as Mimetics for Copper Oxidase Proteins: Synthesis,Characterization,DFT and Oxidase Mimicking Activity

Three tridentate imine ligands containing N2S donors were synthesized via Schiff condensation between derivatives of both amino triazine and 2-carbonyl *** reaction of these ligands with CuCl2 in a molar ratio of 1:1 provides three Cu(II) complexes with the general formula [CuLn·Cl_(2)].Analytical,electrical,magnetic,and spectroscopic studies were used to assign the molecular formulae of these metallic *** function theory (DFT) calculations confirmed the structural analysis results obtained from spectroscopic *** various characterization techniques used demonstrated the penta-coordinated slightly distorted square pyramidal structure for the present Cu(II) complexes 1,2,and *** of cyclic voltammetry were done in methanol to define the electrochemical behavior of the current Cu(II) *** biomimetics of catechol oxidase (C.O.);phenoxazinone synthase (PHS) have been studied in the aerobic oxidation of some phenolic substrates,such as 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol (3,5-DTBCH2);ortho-aminophenol (o-APH3).The three candidate oxidase mimetics showed promising activity in the order 3 > 1 > *** catalytic activity related to the structural properties of existing oxidase mimetics was *** driving force (-ΔG°) controlling the redox reactions of the present biomolecules was calculated from the redox data of Cu(II) complexes 1,2,and *** potential catalytic reaction pathway for the oxidation of the studied phenolic substrates was discussed.

Recently software industry has paid significant attention to customizing software products across distributed *** the requirements of multiple clients across distributed borders is a crucial challenge for the software customization *** decision-making and local development at the client site are considered methods for reducing difficulties in communicating the requirements of multiple clients across distributed *** paper introduces a new model called the onshore development model(ODM)for accomplishing the customization requests in the distributed development process of *** model presents a scenario for enhancing the onsite development of specific requirements to reduce delays andmisunderstandings between the clients and the team *** model depends on moving the development process to the client’s *** empirical studies were conducted to evaluate the proposed model to measure its productivity,time performance,and cost *** proposed model has been compared with two other models:the basic model(BM),which allocates the decision-making process and the development process for teams at the vendor’s location,and the local decision-making model(LDec),which assigns the decision-making process for team at the client’s *** results of the empirical studies showed significant outperforming of the proposed model over the basic model and local decision-making model in productivity,time performance,and cost *** productivity of the proposed model improved by 39%and 10%more than the basic model and the local decision-making model,*** addition,the time performance of the proposed model became faster by 49%and 20.8%than the basic model and the local decision-making model,***,it reduced the total cost of the development process by 31%in terms of the salaries of all persons involved in requirements collecting,decision-making,and development.

Mining Patterns from Change Logs to Support Reuse-Driven Evolution of Software Architectures

Modern software systems are subject to a continuous evolution under frequently varying requirements andchanges in systems＇ operational environments. Lehman＇s law of continuing change demands for long-living and continuouslyevolving software to prolong its productive life and economic value by accommodating changes in existing software. Reusableknowledge and practices have proven to be successful for continuous development and evolution of the software effectivelyand efficiently. However, challenges such as empirical acquisition and systematic application of the reusable knowledge andpractices must be addressed to enable or enhance software evolution. We investigate architecture change logs -- mininghistories of architecture-centric software evolution -- to discover change patterns that 1） support reusability of architecturalchanges and 2） enhance the efficiency of the architecture evolution process. We model architecture change logs as a graphand apply graph-based formalism （i.e., graph mining techniques） to discover software architecture change patterns. Wehave developed a prototype that enables tool-driven automation and user decision support during software evolution. Wehave used the ISO-IEC-9126 model to qualitatively evaluate the proposed solution. The evaluation results suggest that theproposed solution 1） enables the reusability of frequent architectural changes and 2） enhances the efficiency of architecture-centric software evolution process. The proposed solution promotes research efforts to exploit the history of architecturalchanges to empirically discover knowledge that can guide architecture-centric software evolution.

A Novel Cultural Crowd Model Toward Cognitive Artificial Intelligence

Existing literature shows cultural crowd management has unforeseen issues due to four dynamic elements;time,capacity,speed,and *** variations are increasing the complexity level because each mass and event have different characteristics and ***,no prior study has employed the six Hofstede Cultural Dimensions(HCD)for predicting crowd *** study aims to develop the Cultural Crowd-Artificial Neural Network(CC-ANN)learning model that considers crowd’s HCD to predict their physical(distance and speed)and social(collectivity and cohesion)*** model was developed towards a cognitive intelligent decision support tool where the predicted characteristics affect the estimated regulation plan’s time and *** designed the experiments as four groups to analyze the proposed model’s outcomes and extract the interrelations between the HCD of crowd’s grouped individuals and their physical and social ***,the extracted interrelations were verified with the dataset’s statistical correlation analysis with a P-value<*** demonstrate that the predicted crowd’s characteristics were positively/negatively affected by their considered cultural ***,analyzing outcomes identified the most influential HCD for predicting crowd *** results also show that the CC-ANN model improves the prediction and learning performance for the crowd behavior because the achieved accepted level of accuracy does not exceed 10 to 20 epochs in most ***,the performance improved by 90%,93%respectively in some ***,all prediction best cases were related to one or more cultural features with a low error of 0.048,0.117,0.010,and 0.014 mean squared error,indicating a novel cultural learning model.

The recent unprecedented threat from COVID-19 and past epidemics,such as SARS,AIDS,and Ebola,has affected millions of people in multiple *** have shut their borders,and their nationals have been advised to *** variety of responses to the pandemic has given rise to data privacy *** prevention and control strategies as well as disease control measures,especially real-time contact tracing for COVID-19,require the identification of people exposed to *** tracing frameworks use mobile apps and geolocations to trace ***,while the motive may be well intended,the limitations and security issues associated with using such a technology are a serious cause of *** are growing concerns regarding the privacy of an individual’s location and personal identifiable information(PII)being shared with governments and/or health *** study presents a real-time,trust-based contact-tracing framework that operateswithout the use of an individual’sPII,location sensing,or gathering GPS *** focus of the proposed contact tracing framework is to ensure real-time privacy using the Bluetooth range of individuals to determine others within the *** research validates the trust-based framework using Bluetooth as practical and *** our proposed methodology,personal information,health logs,and location data will be secure and not *** research analyzes 100,000 tracing dataset records from 150 mobile devices to identify infected users and active users.

Falkner-Skan aspects are revealed numerically for a non-homogeneous hybrid mixture of 50%ethylene glycol-50%water,silver nanomaterials Ag,and molybdenum disul-fide nanoparticles MoS2 during its motion over a static wedge surface in a DarcyForchheimer porous medium by employing the modified Buongiorno *** Brownian and thermophoresis mechanisms are included implicitly along with the thermophysical properties of each phase via the mixture theory and some efficient phenomenological *** present simulation also accounts for the impacts of nonlinear radiative heat flux,magnetic forces,and Joule ***,the generalized differential quadrature method and Newton-Raphson technique are applied successfully for solving the resulting nonlinear boundary layer *** a limiting case,the obtained findings are validated accurately with the existing literature *** behaviors of velocity,temperature,and nanoparticles volume fraction are discussed comprehensively against various governing *** crucial results,it is revealed that the temperature is enhanced due to magnetic field,linear porosity,radiative heat flux,Brownian motion,thermophoresis,and Joule heating ***,it is depicted that the hybrid nanoliquids present a higher heat flux rate than the monotype nanoliquids and liquids ***,the surface frictional impact is minimized via the linear porosity ***,the surface heat transfer rate receives a prominent improvement due to the radiative heat flux inclusion.
