Millions of people worldwide suffer from a toothache due to tooth cavity,and often permanent tooth *** caries,also known as tooth decay,is a biofilm-dependent infectious disease that damages teeth by minerals loss and presents a high incidence of clinical restorative polymeric fillings(tooth colored fillings).Until now,restorative polymeric fillings present no *** complexity of oral biofilms contributes to the difficulty in developing effective novel dental *** has been explored in the development of bioactive dental materials to reduce or modulate the activities of caries-related ***-structured platforms based on calcium phosphate and metallic particles have advanced to impart an anti-caries potential to restorative *** bioactivity of these platforms induces prevention of mineral loss of the hard tooth structure and antibacterial activities against caries-related *** has been suggested that this bioactivity could minimize the incidence of caries around restorations(CARS)and increase the longevity of such filling *** last few years witnessed growing numbers of studies on the preparation evaluations of these novel ***,the caries disease process and the role of pathogenic caries-related biofilm,the increasing incidence of CARS,and the recent efforts employed for incorporation of bioactive nanoparticles in restorative polymer materials as useful strategies for prevention and management of caries-related-bacteria are *** highlight the status of the most advanced and widely explored interaction of nanoparticle-based platforms and calcium phosphate compounds with an eye toward translating the potential of these approaches to the dental clinical reality.

This paper derives necessary and sufficient conditions of optimality in the form of a stochastic maximum principle for relaxed and strict optimal control problems with *** problems are governed by multi-dimensional forward-backward doubly stochastic differential equations(FBDSDEs)with Poisson jumps and has firstly relaxed controls,which are measure-valued processes,and secondly,as an application,the authors allow them to have strict *** FBDSDEs with jumps are fully-coupled,the forward and backward equations work in different Euclidean spaces in general,the backward equation is Markovian,and the control problems are considered under full information or partial information in terms ofσ-algebras that provide such *** formulation of these equations as well as performance functionals are given in abstract forms to allow the possibility to cover most of the applications available in the ***,coefficients of such equations are allowed to depend on control variables.

DNA-Barcoding of Some Medicinal Plant Species in Saudi Arabia Using rbcL and matK Genes

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia(KSA),thousands of plants are considered to have therapeutic *** ambiguous use of identification mainly morphological characteristics of many plants has resulted in the adulteration and displacement of plant products which undermine their therapeutic value and weak documentation of plant *** aims of this study were therefore to evaluate genetic variability and explore the phylogeographic architecture for Saudi medicinal plant samples using rbcL and matK genes as barcodes for genomic *** matK and rbcL sequences collected for these samples were used as key markers for examining the relationship between Saudi medicinal plant species based on genetic *** our study we were successful in identifying and documenting 4 different species(Foeniculum vulgare,Nitraria retusa,Dodonaea viscosa,and Rumex nervosus)located in Saudi Arabia using DNA barcoding technique.A total number of 8 sequences were obtained with a total sequence length of 6176 bp,where it ranged from 617 bp to 878 bp with an aver-age length of 772 *** total number of rbcL sequences length is 2801 bp,where it ranges from 617 bp to 807 bp with an average length of 700.2 *** of the 4 plant samples used,only three samples were identified correctly on the species level with an identity percentage higher than 95%using rbcL ***,4 matK sequences have been retrieved belong to 4 *** total number of matK sequences length is 3375 bp,where it ranges from 819 bp to 878 bp with an average length of 843.8 *** of the 4 plant samples used,only two samples were identified correctly on the species level with an identity percentage higher than 98% using matK *** rbcL and matK have been able to identify most of our collected plant samples by genus,and some by *** only one DNA-barcoding technique was not reliable for plant identification,where matK and rbcL must be used as a dual DNA-barcoding procedure.

Smartphones and traffic signals:A quantitative assessment for phone usage behavior on performance of signalized intersections

Modern smartphones differ vastly from classic cellphones with enormous capabilities,changing cellphones from making phone calls and short messages to pocket-sized computers with full internet *** downside of modern phone evolution is changing drivers’behavior and phone usage *** researchers have investigated the safety implications of phone usage while driving on accidents ***,the effect of phone usage on the performance of traffic facilities did not receive equal ***,this research aims to study the impact of smartphone usage on traffic signal *** parameters considered in the study were drivers’activity while waiting at the signal,startup lost time,and saturation flow *** study team covered 25 intersections in the study area,observed the activities of over 6800 drivers while waiting at the signal,and recorded their corresponding discharge *** study team then supplemented field data with a behavioral survey questionnaire for drivers living in the study area to interpret field ***,the collected data were processed and analyzed,resulting in mathematical models for the relationship between the reduction in saturation flow rate and the red time *** team found two primary *** study’s first finding was that the traditional concept for estimating startup lost time adopted by the highway capacity manual(HCM)appears *** field results revealed that the lost times caused by other distracted drivers upstream in the queue were comparable to the estimated startup lost time following the HCM method for estimating startup lost *** second finding was that the reduction in saturation flow rate at the traffic signal is an exponential function of the red time interval,reducing the overall capacity for the intersection and increasing the average ***,the authors suggest mitigating the problem and making recommendations for future research.

5-year follow-up of combined non-topography guided photorefractive keratectomy and corneal collagen cross linking for keratoconus

AIM： To evaluate the visual outcomes of simultaneous non-topography guided photorefractive keratectomy（PRK） and corneal collagen cross-linking（CXL） in eyes with keratoconus 5 y after the ***： Prospective, interventional, non-randomized, and non-controlled case series design was used. Sixty eyes of 30 patients（16 males and 14 females; age： 21-41 y） with mild, non-progressive（stages 1-2） keratoconus were enrolled. Refraction, uncorrected distance visual acuity（UDVA） and corrected distance visual acuity（CDVA）, flat and steep keratometry readings, and adverse events were evaluated preoperatively and postoperatively. Data were collected preoperatively and postoperatively at 3 mo, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 y follow-up visits after combined non-topography-guided PRK with CXL was performed. All patients had at least 5 y of ***： All study parameters showed a statistically significant improvement at 5 y over baseline values. The mean follow-up time was 68.20±4.71 mo（range： 60-106 mo）. Patients showed a significant improvement in UDVA from 1.24±0.79 log MAR prior to combined non-TG-PRK＋CXL to 0.06±0.15 log MAR postoperatively at the time of their last follow-up visit. CDVA significantly increased from 0.06±0.19 log MAR preoperatively to 0.03±0.12 log MAR postoperatively. A significant decrease in the mean spherical equivalent（SE） refraction was observed from-2.28±1.8 to-0.79±0.93 diopters（D）（P〈0.05）, and the manifest sphere decreased from-1.62±1.23 to-0.27±0.21 D（P=0.001）. The manifest cylinder significantly decreased from-1.73±0.86 to-0.29±0.34 D postoperatively（P=0.001）. The mean steep keratometry was 45.13±1.32 vs 47.28±2.12 D preoperatively（P〈0.05）, and the preoperative mean steepest keratometry（Kmax） 48.6±3.1 was reduced significantly to 46.8±2.9 postoperatively（P〈0.05）. CONCLUSION： Combined non-TG-PRK with 15 min CXL is an effective and safe option for correcting mild refractive error and improving visual acuity in patients with mild stable keratoconu

Three tridentate imine ligands containing N2S donors were synthesized via Schiff condensation between derivatives of both amino triazine and 2-carbonyl *** reaction of these ligands with CuCl2 in a molar ratio of 1:1 provides three Cu(II) complexes with the general formula [CuLn·Cl_(2)].Analytical,electrical,magnetic,and spectroscopic studies were used to assign the molecular formulae of these metallic *** function theory (DFT) calculations confirmed the structural analysis results obtained from spectroscopic *** various characterization techniques used demonstrated the penta-coordinated slightly distorted square pyramidal structure for the present Cu(II) complexes 1,2,and *** of cyclic voltammetry were done in methanol to define the electrochemical behavior of the current Cu(II) *** biomimetics of catechol oxidase (C.O.);phenoxazinone synthase (PHS) have been studied in the aerobic oxidation of some phenolic substrates,such as 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol (3,5-DTBCH2);ortho-aminophenol (o-APH3).The three candidate oxidase mimetics showed promising activity in the order 3 > 1 > *** catalytic activity related to the structural properties of existing oxidase mimetics was *** driving force (-ΔG°) controlling the redox reactions of the present biomolecules was calculated from the redox data of Cu(II) complexes 1,2,and *** potential catalytic reaction pathway for the oxidation of the studied phenolic substrates was discussed.

Recently software industry has paid significant attention to customizing software products across distributed *** the requirements of multiple clients across distributed borders is a crucial challenge for the software customization *** decision-making and local development at the client site are considered methods for reducing difficulties in communicating the requirements of multiple clients across distributed *** paper introduces a new model called the onshore development model(ODM)for accomplishing the customization requests in the distributed development process of *** model presents a scenario for enhancing the onsite development of specific requirements to reduce delays andmisunderstandings between the clients and the team *** model depends on moving the development process to the client’s *** empirical studies were conducted to evaluate the proposed model to measure its productivity,time performance,and cost *** proposed model has been compared with two other models:the basic model(BM),which allocates the decision-making process and the development process for teams at the vendor’s location,and the local decision-making model(LDec),which assigns the decision-making process for team at the client’s *** results of the empirical studies showed significant outperforming of the proposed model over the basic model and local decision-making model in productivity,time performance,and cost *** productivity of the proposed model improved by 39%and 10%more than the basic model and the local decision-making model,*** addition,the time performance of the proposed model became faster by 49%and 20.8%than the basic model and the local decision-making model,***,it reduced the total cost of the development process by 31%in terms of the salaries of all persons involved in requirements collecting,decision-making,and development.

Design and experimental validation of looped-tube thermoacoustic engine

The aim of this paper is to present the design and experimental validation process for a thermoacoustic looped-tube engine. The design procedure consists of numerical modelling of the system using DELTA EC tool, Design Environment for Low-amplitude ThermoAcousfic Energy Conversion, in particular the effects of mean pressure and regenerator configuration on the pressure amplitude and acoustic power generated. This is followed by the construction of a practical engine system equipped with a ceramic regenerator - a substrate used in auto- motive catalytic converters with fine square channels. The preliminary testing results are obtained and compared with the simulations in *** measurement results agree very well on the qualitative level and are reasonably close in the quantitative sense.
