The complexes of salicylaldehyde thiosemicarbazone with Pd, Cu and Ru were prepared. The prepared complexes were characterized by spectroscopic, element and thermal analyses and D.C. conductivity measurements. The antimicrobial activity of all the prepared compounds against gram-positive, gram-negative and fungi was studied. From these studies, it has been obtained that the ligand is bonded to the metals through O, N and S, but to palladium in [Pd (H//2L//2)] Cl//2 only through N and O. Biological studies confirm that the organic effect on both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria is very weak and their complexes have no effect on fungi, but Cu-complex has strong influence on both types of bacteria. A non-solvent induced phase separation(NIPS)process was used to fabricate a series of sulfonated polyethersulfone(SPES)membranes blending with different concentrations of SBA-15-g-PSPA with the applications in the ultrafiltration(UF)***-15 was modified with 3-methacrylate-propyltrime thoxysilane(mPS)to form *** was further modified with the charge tailorable polymer chains by reacting with 3-sulfopropyl methacrylate potassium *** nanoparticles were uniformly dispersed and finger-like channels were developed within the *** adding of surface modified SBA-15-g-PSPA nanoparticles has significantly improved membrane water permeability,hydrophilicity,and antifouling *** pure water fluxes of the composite SPES membranes were significantly higher than the pristine SPES *** the membrane containing 5%(mass)of SBA-15-g-PSPA(mSSPA5),the pure water flux was increased dramatically to 402.15 Lm^(-2)·h^(-1),which is ~1.5 times that of mSSPA0(268.0 Lm^(-2)·h^(-1)).The high flux rate was achieved with 3%(mass)of SBA-15 nanoparticles with retained high rejection ratio 98%for natural organic *** results indicate that the fashioned composite membrane comprising SBA-15-g-PSPA nanoparticles have a promising future in ultrafiltration applications.

The synthesis of biological silicon nano-particles(Bio-Si-NPs)is an eco-friendly and lowcost *** is no study focusing on the effect of Bio-Si-NPs on the plants grown on saline soil contaminated with heavy *** this study,an attempt was made to synthesis Bio-Si-NPs using potassium silica florid substrate,and the identified Aspergillus tubingensis Am11 isolate that separated from distribution systems of the potable water.A twoyear field trial was conducted to compare the protective effects of Bio-Si-NPs(2.5 and 5.0 mmol/L)and potassium silicate(10 mmol/L)as a foliar spray on the antioxidant defense system,physio-biochemical components,and the contaminants contents of Phaseolus vulgaris *** on saline soil contaminated with heavy *** findings showed that all treatments of Bio-Si-NPs and potassium silicate significantly improved plant growth and production,chlorophylls,carotenoids,transpiration rate,net photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance,membrane stability index,relative water content,free proline,total soluble sugars,N,P,K,Ca2+,K+/Na+,and the activities of peroxidase,catalase,ascorbic peroxidase and superoxide oxide *** of Bio-Si-NPs and potassium silicate significantly decreased electrolyte leakage,malondialdehyde,H2 O2,O2·-,Na+,Pb,Cd,and Ni in leaves and pods of Phaseolus vulgaris *** to ***-Si-NPs were more effective compared to potassium *** of Bio-Si-NPs at the rate of 5 mmol/L was the recommended treatment to enhance the performance and reduce heavy metals content on plants grown on contaminated saline soils.

AIm To provide suggestions for hand injury prevention by study the demography and risk factors of casualties suffering from isolated hand *** All trauma patients with isolated hand injuries who were admitted to Al Ain Hospital for more than 24 h during a period of 3 years were studied. Patient demographics,location, mechanism/time of injury, and length of hospital stay were all *** Two hundred and ten patients were studied. Their mean age was 29.7 years. males constituted 92%. Sixty-five point one percent of all cases were from the Indian subcontinent. The workplace was the most common location of injury(67.1%), followed by the home(17.1%)and road(6.2%). machinery caused 36.2% of all injuries,followed by heavy object(20.5%) and fall(11%). Cases injured at home were young(P males(P male workers in Al Ain city are at greater risk of sustaining hand injuries, predominantly from machinery. Safety education, personal protection, and the enforcement of safety standards are essential to the prevention and avoidance of hand injury.

The free convective heat transfer to the power-law non-Newtonian flow from a vertical plate in a porous medium saturated with nanofluid under laminar conditions is investigated. It is considered that the non-Newtonian nanofluid obeys the mathematical model of power-law. The model used for the nanofluid incorporates the effects of Brown- ian motion and thermophoresis. The partial differential system governing the problem is transformed into an ordinary system via a usual similarity transformation. The numer- ical solutions of the resulting ordinary system are obtained. These solutions depend on the power-law index n, Lewis number Le, buoyancy-ratio number Nr, Brownian motion number Nb, and thermophoresis number Nt. For various values of n and Le, the effects of the influence parameters on the fluid behavior as well as the reduced Nusselt number are presented and discussed.

The effect of chemical reaction on free convection heat and mass transfer for a non-Newtonian power law fluid over a vertical flat plate embedded in a fluid-saturated porous medium has been studied in the presence of the yield stress and the Soret effect. The governing boundary layer equations and boundary conditions are cast into a dimen- sionless form by similarity transformations, and the resulting system of equations is solved by a finite difference method. The results are preSented and discussed for concentration profiles, as well as the Nusselt number and the Sherwood number for various values of the parameters, which govern the problem. The results obtained show that the flow field is influenced appreciably by the presence of the chemical reaction parameter γ the order *** chemical reaction parameter m, the Soret number St, the buoyancy ratio N, the Lewis number Le, and the dimensionless rheological parameter Ω.

:In recent years,video surveillance application played a significant role in our daily *** taken during foggy and haze weather conditions for video surveillance application lose their authenticity and hence reduces the *** reason behind visibility enhancement of foggy and haze images is to help numerous computer and machine vision applications such as satellite imagery,object detection,target killing,and *** remove fog and enhance visibility,a number of visibility enhancement algorithms and methods have been proposed in the ***,these techniques suffer from several limitations that place strong obstacles to the real world outdoor computer vision *** existing techniques do not perform well when images contain heavy fog,large white region and strong atmospheric *** research work proposed a new framework to defog and dehaze the image in order to enhance the visibility of foggy and haze *** proposed framework is based on a Conditional generative adversarial network(CGAN)with two networks;generator and discriminator,each having distinct *** generator network generates fog-free images from foggy images and discriminator network distinguishes between the restored image and the original fog-free *** are conducted on FRIDA dataset and haze *** assess the performance of the proposed method on fog dataset,we use PSNR and SSIm,and for Haze dataset use e,r−,andσas performance *** results shows that the proposed method achieved higher values of PSNR and SSIm which is 18.23,0.823 and lower values produced by the compared method which are 13.94,0.791 and so *** results demonstrated that the proposed framework Has removed fog and enhanced the visibility of foggy and hazy images.

Count data that exhibit over dispersion (variance of counts is larger than its mean) are commonly analyzed using discrete distributions such as negative binomial, Poisson inverse Gaussian and other models. The Poisson is characterized by the equality of mean and variance whereas the Negative Binomial and the Poisson inverse Gaussian have variance larger than the mean and therefore are more appropriate to model over-dispersed count data. As an alternative to these two models, we shall use the generalized Poisson distribution for group comparisons in the presence of multiple covariates. This problem is known as the ANCOVA and is solved for continuous data. Our objectives were to develop ANCOVA using the generalized Poisson distribution, and compare its goodness of fit to that of the nonparametric Generalized Additive models. We used real life data to show that the model performs quite satisfactorily when compared to the nonparametric Generalized Additive models.

Background: Repeatability is a statement on the magnitude of measurement error. When biomarkers are used for disease diagnoses, they should be measured accurately. Objectives: We derive an index of repeatability based on the ratio of two variance components. Estimation of the index is derived from the one-way Analysis of Variance table based on the one-way random effects model. We estimate the large sample variance of the estimator and assess its adequacy using bootstrap methods. An important requirement for valid estimation of repeatability is the availability of multiple observations on each subject taken by the same rater and under the same conditions. methods: We use the delta method to derive the large sample variance of the estimate of repeatability index. The question related to the number of required repeats per subjects is answered by two methods. In first methods we estimate the number of repeats that minimizes the variance of the estimated repeatability index, and the second determine the number of repeats needed under cost-constraints. Results and Novel Contribution: The situation when the measurements do not follow Gaussian distribution will be dealt with. It is shown that the required sample size is quite sensitive to the relative cost. We illustrate the methodologies on the Serum Alanine-aminotransferase (ALT) available from hospital registry data for samples of males and females. Repeatability is higher among females in comparison to males.
