Research and development are gradually becoming data-driven and the implementation of the FAIR Guidelines(that data should be Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) for scientific data administration and stewardship has the potential to remarkably enhance the framework for the reuse of research data. In this way, FAIR is aiding digital transformation. The ‘FAIRification’ of data increases the interoperability and(re)usability of data, so that new and robust analytical tools, such as machine learning(ML) models, can access the data to deduce meaningful insights, extract actionable information, and identify hidden patterns. This article aims to build a FAIR ML model pipeline using the generic FAIRification workflow to make the whole ML analytics process FAIR. Accordingly, FAIR input data was modelled using a FAIR ML model. The output data from the FAIR ML model was also made FAIR. For this, a hybrid hierarchical k-means (HHK) clustering ML algorithm was applied to group the data into homogeneous subgroups and ascertain the underlying structure of the data using a Nigerian-based FAIR dataset that contains data on economic factors, healthcare facilities, and coronavirus occurrences in all the 36 states of Nigeria. The model showed that research data and the ML pipeline can be FAIRified, shared, and reused by following the proposed FAIRification workflow and implementing technical architecture.

FAIR Guidelines and Data Regulatory Framework for Digital Health in Nigeria

Adopting the FAIR Guidelines—that data should be Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable(FAIR)—in the health data system in Nigeria will help protect data against use by unauthorised parties, while also making data more accessible to legitimate users. However, little is known about the FAIR Guidelines and their compatibility with data and health laws and policies in Nigeria. This study assesses the governance framework for digital and health/e Health policies in Nigeria and explores the possibility of a policy window opening for the FAIR Guidelines to be adopted and implemented in Nigeria’s e Health sector. Ten Nigerian policy documents were examined for mention of the FAIR Guidelines(or FAIR Equivalent terminology) and the 15 sub-criteria or facets. The analysis found that although the FAIR Guidelines are not explicitly mentioned, 70% of the documents contain FAIR Equivalent terminology. The Nigeria Data Protection Regulation contained the most FAIR Equivalent principles(73%) and some of the remaining nine documents also contained some FAIR Equivalent principles(between 0–60%). Accordingly, it can be concluded that a policy window is open for the FAIR Guidelines to be adopted and implemented in Nigeria’s e Health sector.

Tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis have been a major challenge for medical and healthcare sectors in many underdeveloped countries with limited diagnosis *** can be detected from microscopic slides and chest X-ray but as a result of the high cases of tuberculosis,this method can be tedious for both Microbiologists and Radiologists and can lead to *** challenges can be solved by employing Computer-Aided Detection(CAD)via Al-driven models which learn features based on convolution and result in an output with high *** this paper,we described automated discrimination of X-ray and microscope slide images into tuberculosis and non-tuberculosis cases using pretrained AlexNet *** study employed Chest X-ray dataset made available on Kaggle repository and microscopic slide images from both Near East University Hospital and Kaggle *** classification of tuberculosis using microscopic slide images,the model achieved 90.56%accuracy,97.78%sensitivity and 83.33%specificity for 70:30 *** classification of tuberculosis using X-ray images,the model achieved 93.89%accuracy,96.67%sensitivity and 91.11%specificity for 70:30 *** result is in line with the notion that CNN models can be used for classifying medical images with higher accuracy and precision.

The seeds of Aframomum melegueta K. Schum (grains of paradise, Zingiberaceae) are used as a common spice in African countries and a fine condiment in the European cuisine. In this study, we evaluated the phytochemical profile of various seed extracts of A. melegueta as well as their antimicrobial, antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory effects. In total, 25 diarylheptanoids, five gingerol derivatives and nine phenolic/organic acids were tentatively annotated in A. melegueta by liquid chromatography hyphenated with high resolution tandem mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS/MS). A. melegueta showed a moderate inhibitory activity against different human pathogenic microbial strains, with H. pylori the most sensitive microorganism. A strong antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory potential was shown in various radical scavenging, reducing and chelating assays as well as in cholinesterase, tyrosinase and glucosidase assays. Several specialized metabolites from A. melegueta (diarylheptanoids, gingerols) were shown to be directly linked with the investigated antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory activities, as evaluated through the correlation analysis. In addition, two diarylheptanoids (one heptan-3-ol and one heptan- 3,5-diol) displayed the strongest binding to acetylcholinesterase (AChE) via multiple H-bonds, a couple of π-π interactions and van der Waals interactions all over the catalytic channel of the enzyme, as evidenced by the molecular docking study. Overall, our work brings new contributions to the phyto-complexity and poly-pharmacology of spices from genus Aframomum than can find future applications in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or cosmeceutical industry.

Effects of Dietary Replacement of Maize with Sweet Potato Peel in the Diet of African Catfish Clarias gariepinus(Burchell,1822)

This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of dietary replacement of maize with sweet potato peel in the diet of Clarias gariepinus *** levels of the SPP inclusion in the experimental diets were 0%,25%,50%,75%and 100%.All the diets were *** hundred and fifty(150)*** juveniles(33 g~35 g)were randomly distributed to five treatments with three replicates each and 5%of their body weight for 12 *** carcass proximate compositions analyzed before and after feeding with the experimental diets shows that CP and EE differed significantly(p0.05).Highest MWG of 207.70±25.95 g was obtained in the fish fed SPP100%followed by 191.30±16.15 g obtained in the fish fed SPP75%.The least MWG of 149.83±16.01 g was recorded in fish fed SPP25%.The highest FCR of 3.61±0.45 g was recorded in the fish fed SPP100%.A steady decrease in FCR was observed with decreasing inclusion levels of SPP ***,higher FW,FL,SGR and PER were observed in the experimental fish as from 50%inclusion levels of the *** cost of feed per kg was reduced and the NP and WG increased with increasing levels of SPP and the profitability was enhanced at 100%SPP inclusion *** results revealed that *** juvenile could tolerate up to 50%,75%and 100%inclusion levels of *** best growth performance was recorded in the fish fed SPP100%,therefore,sweet potato peel can replace maize in the diet of *** without any inauspicious effect on the growth performance and nutrient utilization.

工业化和城市化的迅速发展导致挥发性有机污染物的大量排放,由于其毒性,不稳定性和扩散性,造成空气质量下降并严重损害了人类的健康。根据世界卫生组织定义,这些污染物被称为VOCs(挥发性有机化合物)。VOC来源于室内和室外排放气体,包括化学工业,炼油厂,制药工业合成树脂和家用材料。其中苯对环境和人类健康的毒性最高,会严重降低空气质量,对人类具有诱变性和致癌性。而且苯是几种挥发性有机化合物(尤其是芳烃)中大多数的代表物质。因此,降解苯对环境和人类健康至关重要。使用催化氧化技术将苯氧化为水、二氧化碳和其他危害相对较小的化合物,这被认为是最经济有效的可行方法之一。与其他技术相比,催化氧化技术已成为目前的最佳选择。更为紧迫的是,寻找一种稳定,耐用和高性能的苯催化氧化催化剂。此外,用于苯氧化的催化剂可分为贵金属催化剂和非贵金属催化剂。稳定,耐用和高性能的催化剂是一种可以氧化低浓度苯的紧迫性。此外,用于苯氧化的催化剂可分为贵金属催化剂和非贵金属催化剂。贵金属催化剂具有优异的催化活性,而非贵金属具有低活性催化剂。在此,通过植物还原法合成了硅藻硅酸盐负载的Pd NPs,作为一种有效的苯氧化催化剂,使用了绿色樟脑叶(Cinnamomum camphora)提取Pd NPs的还原剂。具有优异多孔结构的硅藻土硅酸盐可支持不同的负载Pd(0.6%,0.9%和1.2%)作为苯氧化催化剂。0.9%Pd/硅藻土的最佳样品表明,在SV 20,000 mL/g/h下,T90在210℃时苯转化率为95%。此外,该催化剂表现出稳定性,可长时间运行72小时,并具有良好的抗CO2和H2O蒸气性能。然后通过XRD,XPS,SEM,TEM,TPR,BET和FTIR对所得Pd/硅藻土催化剂的结构与活性之间的关系进行了表征。Pd粒径和Pd NPs在载体表面活性位点上的分散被确定为增强催化活性的因素。

Coupled tripartite investigation of breaker fluid invasion and impact on hydrocarbon recovery in sandstone reservoirs

Evaluating the Effectiveness of Graph Convolutional Network for Detection of Healthcare Polypharmacy Side Effects

Healthcare polypharmacy is routinely used to treat numerous conditions;however,it often leads to unanticipated bad consequences owing to complicated medication *** paper provides a graph convolutional network(GCN)-based model for identifying adverse effects in polypharmacy by integrating pharmaceutical data from electronic health records(EHR).The GCN framework analyzes the complicated links between drugs to forecast the possibility of harmful drug *** assessments reveal that the proposed GCN model surpasses existing machine learning approaches,reaching an accuracy(ACC)of 91%,an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of 0.88,and an F1-score of ***,the overall accuracy of the model achieved 98.47%.These findings imply that the GCN model is helpful for monitoring individuals receiving *** research should concentrate on improving the model and extending datasets for therapeutic applications.
