Energy sustainability is a hot topic in both scientiﬁc and political *** date,two alternative approaches to this issue are being *** peo-ple believe that increasing power consumption is necessary for countries’economic and social progress,while others are more concerned with maintaining carbon consumption under set *** establish a secure,sustainable,and economical energy system while mitigating the consequences of climate change,most governments are currently pushing renewable growth *** mar-kets are meant to provide consumers with dependable electricity at the lowest pos-sible cost.A proﬁt-maximization optimal decision model is created in the electric power market with the combined wind,solar units,loads,and energy storage sys-tems,based on the bidding mechanism in the electricity market and operational *** model utterly considers the technological limits of new energy units and storages,as well as the involvement of new energy and electric vehicles in market bidding through power generation strategy and the output arrangement of the virtual power plant’s coordinated *** accuracy and validity of the optimal decision-making model of combined wind,solar units,loads,and energy storage systems are validated using numerical *** multi-operating scenarios,the effects of renewable energy output changes on joint sys-tem bidding techniques are compared.

Electrical Tree Image Segmentation Using Hybrid Multi Scale Line Tracking Algorithm

Electrical trees are an aging mechanismmost associated with partial discharge(PD)activities in crosslinked polyethylene(XLPE)insulation of high-voltage(HV)*** of electrical tree structures gained considerable attention from researchers since a deep understanding of the tree morphology is required to develop new insulation ***-dimensional(2D)optical microscopy is primarily used to examine tree structures and propagation shapes with image segmentation ***,since electrical trees can emerge in different shapes such as bush-type or branch-type,treeing images are complicated to segment due to manifestation of convoluted tree branches,leading to a high misclassification rate during ***,this study proposed a new method for segmenting 2D electrical tree images based on the multi-scale line tracking algorithm(MSLTA)by integrating batch processing *** proposed method,h-MSLTA aims to provide accurate segmentation of electrical tree images obtained over a period of tree propagation observation under optical *** initial phase involves XLPE sample preparation and treeing image acquisition under real-time microscopy *** treeing images are then sampled and binarized in *** the next phase,segmentation of tree structures is performed using the h-MSLTA by utilizing batch processing in multiple instances of treeing ***,the comparative investigation has been conducted using standard performance assessment metrics,including accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,Dice coefficient and Matthew’s correlation coefficient(MCC).Based on segmentation performance evaluation against several established segmentation methods,h-MSLTA achieved better results of 95.43%accuracy,97.28%specificity,69.43%sensitivity rate with 23.38%and 24.16%average improvement in Dice coefficient and MCC score respectively over the original *** addition,h-MSLTA produced accurate measurement results of glo

During the last two decades,partial discharges(PDs)modelling methods have been used as a complement of insulation diagnosis systems of electrical ***-element-analysis models for simulating PDs in cavities within solid dielectric materials are reviewed and a novel model is presented,which combines the main advantages of electrostatic and electric current *** theoretical background is presented and some limitations and restrictions are discussed.A case of study was implemented for three different ageing conditions and simulation results exhibit good agreement with reported values by other authors in the *** analysis of variations of PD behaviour with ageing as a function of temperature and pressure is briefly *** is concluded that more research is needed to include physical and chemical interactions on the void surface and that the cavity surface conductivity plays a fundamental role in the PD simulations at advanced ageing conditions.

Effective(kinetic freeze-out) temperature, transverse flow velocity, and kinetic freeze-out volume in high energy collisions

The transverse momentum spectra of different types of particles produced in central and peripheral gold–gold(Au–Au)and inelastic proton–proton(pp)collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider,as well as in central and peripheral lead-lead(Pb–Pb)and pp collisions at the Large Hadron Collider,are analyzed by the multi-component standard(Boltzmann–Gibbs,Fermi–Dirac,and Bose–Einstein)*** obtained results from the standard distribution give an approximate agreement with the measured experimental data by the STAR,PHENIX,and ALICE *** behavior of the effective(kinetic freeze-out)temperature,transverse flow velocity,and kinetic freeze-out volume for particles with different masses is obtained,which observes the early kinetic freezeout of heavier particles as compared to the lighter *** parameters of emissions of different particles are observed to be different,which reveals a direct signature of the mass-dependent differential kinetic *** is also observed that the peripheral nucleus–nucleus(AA)and pp collisions at the same center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair are in good agreement in terms of the extracted parameters.

Tunneling, overlapping owner and investor protection： Evidence from merger and acquisition in Asia

Tunneling is to describe transfer resource out of the firm for benefit of their controlling shareholders. Better legal protection and stronger social norms improve minority shareholders" protection from expropriation. They consequently reduce the private benefits of controlling shareholders (La Porta, 1999). This study aims to investigate tunneling in the context merger and acquisition (M&A) and to examine whether tunneling occurs only in emerging markets with poor law enforcement or whether it also occurs in developed countries. This study documents that managers are more likely to overpay target in merger and acquisition with high overlapped owner which have stakes in bidder and target firm. That overpayment, a transfer of wealth from owners of bidder"s firm to overlapping owners, is a type of tunneling. This study concludes that tunneling occurs in nations not only with low investor protection, but also with high investor protection.

Comparison of Positions of QTLs Conferring Resistance to Xanthomonas campestrispv. campestrisin Brassica oleracea

Black rot, caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (Xcc) is possibly the most important disease of Brassica worldwide. To compare chromosomal positions of Xcc resistance loci in Brassica oleracea between the present and published studies and to develop marker assisted selection (mas) to resistance against Xcc race 1, we constructed a B. oleracea map, including pW, pX and BoCL markers that were closely linked to previously reported Xcc resistance QTLs. We also analyzed Xcc resistance QTLs by improving our previously reported map derived from the cross of a susceptible double-haploid line (GC P09) with a resistant double-haploid line (Reiho P01). In the nine linkage groups obtained (C1-C9), the major QTL, XccBo(Reiho)2, was derived from Reiho with a maximum LOD score (7.7) in C8. The QTL (LOD 4.4) located in C9, XccBo(GC)1 was derived from the susceptible GC. The other QTL (LOD 4.4), XccBo(Reiho)1, was found in C5. Based on common markers, it was possible to compare our finding Xcc resistance QTLs with the B. oleraceaXcc loci reported by previous authors;XccBo(Reiho)1 and XccBo(GC)1 may be identical to the Xcc resistance QTLs reported previously or a different member contained in the same resistance gene cluster. Our map includes public SSR markers linked to Xcc resistance genes that will promote pyramiding Xcc resistance genes in B. oleracea. The present study will also contribute to a better understanding of genetic control of Xcc resistance.
