Mangroves in coastal cities are under threat due to development pressures. However, mangrove ecosystems can serve as a potential carbon sink for mitigating the impacts of climate change. The main objective of this study was to estimate the carbon sequestration potential of mangroves in the al-Qurm natural reserve, Muscat, Oman. The reserve was classified into three distinct zones and was estimated through field measurement and remote sensing techniques. The study found that each zone sequesters varying levels of carbon. The highest mean carbon stock was measured in the landward zone (20.2 ± 0.3 kg∙C/m2), followed by the middle zone (8.7 ± 0.4 kg∙C/m2) and seaward zone (5.8 ± 0.8 kg∙C/m2), respectively. The carbon sequestration rate of the sediment range was between 5.0 g C/m2∙year - 12.5 g C/m2∙year. Normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) derived from above-ground biomass showed a positive relationship (r = 0.73) with biomass measured in the field. Urban tree inventory is a great tool for gathering data that can be used by different end users. This study attempted to chart the species diversity in planted areas and measure their tree diameter at breast height to screen them for the carbon storage potential. A total of 2860 trees belonging to 36 species were recorded in the planted vegetation in parks and avenue plantation. The dominant species were Azadirachta indicia (25.5%), Conocarpus erectus (19.2%), Ficus spp. (15.5%), Tabebuia rosea (9.2%), Peitophorum pterocarpum (9.0%) and the remaining represents (21.6%) of the tree identified in this study. It was found that the highest contribution of carbon sequestration (CO2 equivalent) is dominated by the Ficus spp. (30.3%) with a total of 3399.3 tCO2eq, followed by Azadirachta indicia (25.4%) with a total of 2845.2 tCO2eq and Conocarpus erectus (20.4%) with a total of 2286 tCO2eq. The entire area has the capability to sequester around 11,213.3 tCO2eq and on average of 3.9 ± 0.1 tCO2eq. In accordance with the findings, it is imperative for the preservation of a sustainable environment to have vegetation that has the capacity to store carbon. The study suggests, there is potential to increase carbon sequestration in urban cities through plantation programs on existing and new land uses and along roads.

Seeds from soybean collected from different commercial markets were surveyed for seed-borne *** fungal colonies were isolated all over three monthly isolations constituting twenty-two fungal *** isolated fungi were belonging to the genera:alternaria,Aspergillus,Cephalosporium,Chaetomium,Cladosporium,Colletotrichum,Curvularia,Fusarium,Macrophomina,Mucor,Penicillium,Rhizoctonia,Rhizopus,Sclerotium,Stemphylium,and *** of the antifungal activity of four ethanolic extracts of clove,cinnamon,garlic,and mint was carried out against the most common fungal species(Aspergillus flavus,***,Fusarium solani,***,and ***),which significantly reduced the growth of tested *** extract recorded the highest antimicrobial potentiality against the seed-borne fungal species,followed by cinnamon,garlic,and *** and cinnamon achieved minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)values less than that of the reference antifungal drug ***,garlic and mint recorded MIC values equal to or higher than that of control.A combination of clove and cinnamon,clove and garlic,cinnamon and garlic,cinnamon,and mint extracts increased the mean relative activity *** decreased MIC values below their values when used individually;this indicated synergistic interaction between the two extracts.A combination of clove with mint and garlic with mint recorded a decrease in the percentage of mean relative activity and an increase in MIC values than their values when used individually,indicating antagonistic interaction between them.

This research proposes a highly effective soft computing paradigm for estimating the compressive strength(CS)of metakaolin-contained cemented *** proposed approach is a combination of an enhanced grey wolf optimizer(EGWO)and an extreme learning machine(ELM).EGWO is an augmented form of the classic grey wolf optimizer(GWO).Compared to standard GWO,EGWO has a better hunting mechanism and produces an optimal *** EGWO was used to optimize the ELM structure and a hybrid model,ELM-EGWO,was *** train and validate the proposed ELM-EGWO model,a sum of 361 experimental results featuring five influencing factors was *** on sensitivity analysis,three distinct cases of influencing parameters were considered to investigate the effect of influencing factors on predictive *** consequences show that the constructed ELM-EGWO achieved the most accurate precision in both training(RMSE=0.0959)and testing(RMSE=0.0912)*** outcomes of the ELM-EGWO are significantly superior to those of deep neural networks(DNN),k-nearest neighbors(KNN),long short-term memory(LSTM),and other hybrid ELMs constructed with GWO,particle swarm optimization(PSO),harris hawks optimization(HHO),salp swarm algorithm(SSA),marine predators algorithm(MPA),and colony predation algorithm(CPA).The overall results demonstrate that the newly suggested ELM-EGWO has the potential to estimate the CS of metakaolin-contained cemented materials with a high degree of precision and robustness.

3-((2E)-3(aryl)prop-2-enoyl)-2H-chromen-2-one 3 was synthesized from 4-hydroxy coumarin by refluxing 3-acetyl-4-hydroxy coumarin with aromatic aldehydes in chloroform in the presence of a catalytic amount of piperidine. 3 was converted to pyrazoles 4, 5 by treatment with hydrazine and phenylhydrazine in toluene, respectively. The structures of the new compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR, and multinuclear/multidimensional NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C-NMR, NOESY, HMBC) which allowed us to assign the complete network of proton and carbon atoms. all the compounds exhibited one quasireversible redox process. all the newly synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antioxidant activities. Antimicrobial studies revealed that 3-(5-(2,5-dimethylphenyl)-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)-4- hydroxy-2H-chromene-2-one 5c showed significant antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa 27853. Furthermore, 3-(5-(aryl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)-4-hydroxy-2H-chromene- 2-ones 4, 5 showed antioxidant activities of different extents with respect to individual compounds as well as to the antioxidant methods. The 3-(5-(phenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)-4-hydroxy-2H-chromene-2-ones 4a was found to be the most active antioxidant in the series and more active than trolox which makes the investigated complexes a new promising class of antibacterial compounds.

The Voltammetric properties of Pure Prednisolone in a direct method in the aqueous solution were studied. The substance has revealed a clear and major two reduction peaks at potential -1.22 Volt and -1.45 Volt against the reference electrode （Ag/AgCI/SatKC1）. The calibration curve of the prednisolone in the Phosphate Buffer （pH = 7） has been studies. The relationship has been linear within the scope of concentration 0.398 × 10 6-3.846 ×10-6 mol. The correlation coefficients are 0.9981, 0.9958 for the first and second peaks. Another two calibration curves were also constructed in the presence of human serum and urine. Standard addition method was successful used to determine the drug in serum, urine as well as in the analysis of drug in the tablet. The molecular binding ofprednisolone with albumin was also studied at different temperature. The Vant hoff equation is used to calculate the thermodynamic parameters, the results indicate that the （ion-ion） of binding suggested.
