Transformation from conventional business management systems tosmart digital systems is a recurrent trend in the current era. This has led to digitalrevolution, and in this context, the hardwired technologies in the software industry play a significant role However, from the beginning, software security remainsa serious issue for all levels of stakeholders. Software vulnerabilities lead to intrusions that cause data breaches and result in disclosure of sensitive data, compromising the organizations’ reputation that translates into, financial losses andcompromising software usability as well. Most of the data breaches are financiallymotivated, especially in the healthcare sector. The cyber invaders continuouslypenetrate the E- Health data because of the high cost of the data on the darkweb. Therefore, security assessment of healthcare web-based applicationsdemands immediate intervention mechanisms to weed out the threats of cyberattacks for the sake of software usability. Structural Geology and Chronology of Shear Zones along the Shangdan Suture in Qinling Orogenic Belt,China:Implications for Late Mesozoic Intra-Continental Deformation of East Asia

The Shangdan suture zone(SDZ)in the Qinling orogenic belt(QOB)is a key to understanding the East Asia tectonic *** SDZ gives information about convergent processes between the North China Block(NCB)and South China Block(SCB).In the Late Mesozoic,several shear zones evolved along the SDZ boundary that helps us comprehend the collisional deformation between the NCB and SCB,which was neglected in previous *** shear zones play an essential role in the tectonic evolution of the East Asia *** study focuses on the deformation and geochronology of two shear zones distributed along the SDZ,identified in the Shaliangzi and Maanqiao *** shear sense indicators and kinematic vorticity numbers(0.54–0.90)suggest these shear zones have sinistral shear and sub-simple shear deformation *** quartz’s dynamic recrystallization and c-axis fabric analysis in the Maanqiao shear zone(MSZ)revealed that the MSZ experienced deformation under green-schist facies conditions at∼400–500℃.The Shaliangzi shear zone deformed under amphibolite facies at∼500–700℃.The^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar(muscovite-biotite)dating of samples provided a plateau age of 121–123 *** with previously published data,our results concluded that QOB was dominated by compressional tectonics during the Late Early ***,we suggested that the Siberian Block moved back to the south and Lhasa-Qiantang-Indochina Block to the north,which promoted intra-continental compressional tectonics.

Background: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an established treatment for patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease (PD). Reports show continued patient satisfaction after surgery despite not maintaining clinical improvement as measured by evolution scales. Objectives: The present study sought to explore expectations and level of satisfaction in patients after DBS surgery with a semi-structured questionnaire and subsequent correlation with functional scales, Quality of Life (QoL), and motor and non-motor symptoms. Methods: We performed descriptive statistics to represent demographic data, Wilcoxon rank tests to determine significant differences, and Spearman correlation between the applied scales. Results: We evaluated 20 patients with a history of DBS surgery. 45% were female, with a mean age of 55.7 ± 14.15 years, a mean disease duration of 13.42 ± 8.3 years, and a mean time after surgery of 3.18 ± 1.86 years. Patients reported surgery meeting expectations in 85.5% and continued satisfaction in 92%. These two variables showed a significant correlation. Conclusions: This sample of patients remained satisfied after DBS surgery, although we found no differences in motor and non-motor clinimetric scales. Further studies are needed to confirm the importance of assessing quality of life in patients with DBS.

Laser in situ keratomileusis in adult patients with anisometropic amblyopia

AIM: To evaluate the increase in corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) in adults with anisometropic amblyopia. · METHODS: The medical records of consecutive patients diagnosed with anisometropic amblyopia at the time of refractive evaluation who underwent LASIK were retrospectively reviewed. Patients with at least a two-line difference of visual acuity (VA) between the eyes with a spherical refractive error difference of at least 3.00 diopters (D) or an astigmatic difference of at least 2.00D were included. Patients with any other possible reason for amblyopia other than anisometropia or those who had undergone previous amblyopia treatment were excluded. Amblyopic eyes with myopia or myopic astigmatism were considered as group 1, hypermetropia or hypermetropic astigmatism constituted group 2, and mixed astigmatism patients comprised group 3. Uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), subjective manifest refraction, and CDVA were analyzed at 1 week and 1 month, 3, and 6 months. ·RESULTS: The study included 57 eyes of 57 patients. There were 33 eyes in group 1, 12 eyes in group 2, and 12 eyes in group 3. The preoperative mean values for spherical equivalent of subjective manifest refraction (SE) in groups 1, 2, and 3 were (-4.66±1.97)D, (4.40±1.00)D, and (0.15±1.05)D, respectively. Mean CDVA improved 0.1 log units (1 line LogMAR) at 6 months (P 0.05). Moreover, age, the amount ofpreoperative refractive error, and the levels of preoperative corrected and UDVA had no effect on postoperative CDVA improvement (P >0.05). · CONCLUSION: Correction of refractive errors with LASIK produced significant CDVA improvement in adult patients with anisometropic amblyopia and no previous ambl

Attenuation of wave propagation in a novel periodic structure

A novel periodic mount was presented. A theoretical model was developed to describe the dynamics of wave propagation in the novel periodic mount. The model was derived using Hamilton's energy conservation principle. The characteristics of wave propagation in unit cell were analyzed by transfer matrix formulation. Numerical examples were given to illustrate the effectiveness of the periodic mount. The experiments were carried out to identify the predications of the theoretical model. The obtained results show that the experimental results coincide with the prediction of theoretical model. No pass bands appear in the overall frequency range measured when waves propagate in the longitude direction of the periodic mount. These dramatic results demonstrate its potential as an excellent mount in attenuating and isolating vibration transmission.

FILTERING CHARACTERISTICS AND EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL PERIODIC RODS

Passive periodic structures exhibit unique dynamic characteristics that make the passive periodic structures act as mechanical filters for wave propagation. As a result, wave can propagate along the periodic structures only within specific frequency bands called the pass bands and wave propagation is completely blocked within other frequency bands called the “stop bands”. A theoretical method based on the transfer matrix formulation is developed in order to effectively investigate the influence of periodicity, variable geometry and material properties on the wave propagation characteristics of one-dimensional periodic rod. Several numerical examples are presented in order to illustrate their unique tunable filtering and localization characteristics. The experiments are conducted to verify the numerical predictions and to demonstrate the capability of the wavelet transform as a very powerful tool to uniquely identify and compare the energy distribution both in the time and frequency domain. The flexibility that the spectral width and location of the pass and stop bands can be tuned by introducing intentional variation in geometric and material properties for the individual substructure or cell is identified completely by both numerical predictions and experimental results. The results demonstrate the potential of such one-dimensional periodic structure in controlling the dynamics of wave propagation as a mechanical filter such as engine mount, gearbox support strut and other applications.
