Scalability and information personal privacy are vital for training and deploying large-scale deep learning *** learning trains models on exclusive information by aggregating weights from various devices and taking advantage of the device-agnostic environment of web ***,relying on a main central server for internet browser-based federated systems can prohibit scalability and interfere with the training process as a result of growing client ***,information relating to the training dataset can possibly be extracted from the distributed weights,potentially reducing the privacy of the local data used for *** this research paper,we aim to investigate the challenges of scalability and data privacy to increase the efficiency of distributed training *** a result,we propose a web-federated learning exchange(WebFLex)framework,which intends to improve the decentralization of the federated learning *** is additionally developed to secure distributed and scalable federated learning systems that operate in web browsers across heterogeneous ***,WebFLex utilizes peer-to-peer interactions and secure weight exchanges utilizing browser-to-browser web real-time communication(WebRTC),efficiently preventing the need for a main central *** has actually been measured in various setups using the MNIST *** results show WebFLex’s ability to improve the scalability of federated learning systems,allowing a smooth increase in the number of participating devices without central data *** addition,WebFLex can maintain a durable federated learning procedure even when faced with device disconnections and network ***,it improves data privacy by utilizing artificial noise,which accomplishes an appropriate balance between accuracy and privacy preservation.

Stiffness Characteristics of a Basic Nonlinear Air Spring Model

This study predicts the characteristics of a compressible polytropic air spring model. A second-order nonlinear autonomous air spring model is presented. The proposed model is based on the assumption that polytropic processes occur. Isothermal and isentropic compression and expansion of the air within the spring chambers are the two scenarios that are taken into consideration. In these situations, the air inside the spring chambers compresses and expands, resulting in nonlinear spring restoring forces. The MATLAB/Simulink software environment is used to build a numerical simulation model for the dynamic behavior of the air spring. To quantify the values of the stiffnesses of the proposed models, a numerical solution is run over time for various values of the design parameters. The isentropic process case has a higher dynamic air spring stiffness than the isothermal process case, according to the results. The size of the air spring chamber and the area of the air spring piston influence the air spring stiffness in both situations. It is demonstrated that the stiffness of the air spring increases linearly with increasing piston area and decreases nonlinearly with increasing air chamber length. As long as the ratio of the vibration’s amplitude to the air spring’s chamber length is small, there is good agreement in both scenarios between the linearized model and the full nonlinear model. This implies that linear modeling is a reasonable approximation of the complete nonlinear model in this particular scenario.

Spatio-temporal clustering analysis of COVID-19 cases in Johor

At the end of the year 2019,a virus named SARS-CoV-2 induced the coronavirus disease,which is very contagious and quickly spread around the *** new infectious disease is called *** areas,such as the economy,social services,education,and healthcare system,have suffered grave consequences from the invasion of this deadly ***,a thorough understanding of the spread of COVID-19 is required in order to deal with this outbreak before it becomes an infectious *** this research,the daily reported COVID-19 cases in 92 sub-districts in Johor state,Malaysia,as well as the population size associated to each sub-district,are used to study the propagation of COVID-19 disease across space and time in *** time frame of this research is about 190 days,which started from August 5,2021,until February 10,*** clustering technique known as spatio-temporal clustering,which considers the spatio-temporal metric was adapted to determine the hot-spot areas of the COVID-19 disease in Johor at the sub-district *** results indicated that COVID-19 disease does spike in the dynamic populated sub-districts such as the state's economic centre(Bandar Johor Bahru),and during the festive *** findings empirically prove that the transmission rate of COVID-19 is directly proportional to human mobility and the presence of *** the other hand,the result of this study will help the authority in charge in stopping and preventing COVID-19 from spreading and become worsen at the national level.

Static Poisson’s ratio(vs)is crucial for determining geomechanical properties in petroleum applications,namely sand *** models have been used to predict vs;however,the published models were limited to specific data ranges with an average absolute percentage relative error(AAPRE)of more than 10%.The published gated recurrent unit(GRU)models do not consider trend analysis to show physical *** this study,we aim to develop a GRU model using trend analysis and three inputs for predicting n s based on a broad range of data,n s(value of 0.1627-0.4492),bulk formation density(RHOB)(0.315-2.994 g/mL),compressional time(DTc)(44.43-186.9 μs/ft),and shear time(DTs)(72.9-341.2μ s/ft).The GRU model was evaluated using different approaches,including statistical error *** GRU model showed the proper trends,and the model data ranges were wider than previous *** GRU model has the largest correlation coefficient(R)of 0.967 and the lowest AAPRE,average percent relative error(APRE),root mean square error(RMSE),and standard deviation(SD)of 3.228%,1.054%,4.389,and 0.013,respectively,compared to other *** GRU model has a high accuracy for the different datasets:training,validation,testing,and the whole datasets with R and AAPRE values were 0.981 and 2.601%,0.966 and 3.274%,0.967 and 3.228%,and 0.977 and 2.861%,*** group error analyses of all inputs show that the GRU model has less than 5% AAPRE for all input ranges,which is superior to other models that have different AAPRE values of more than 10% at various ranges of inputs.

AIM:To determine whether the levator palpebrae superioris(LPS)/superior rectus(SR)muscle complex,can influence the position of the upper lid and fornix in acquired anophthalmic ***:This comparative non-randomized and non-interventional study included retrospective data of 21 patients with unilateral acquired anophthalmic sockets repaired with spheric ***-resolution computed tomography(CT)measurements of the LPM/SR muscle complex and clinical topographic position of the upper lid,superior and inferior fornix depth in primary gaze position were *** data were presented as frequency and percentage proportions and quantitative variables comparing the socket measurements with the normal contralateral orbit was statistically analyzed using non-parametric tests considering Palmic orbits had a significantly shorter LPS length(P=0.01)and significantly thicker SR(P=0.02)than the normal *** was present in anophthalmic sockets but not in normal orbits(P=0.002),while levator function was normal in both(P>0.05,all comparisons).The superior fornix depth was similar in the anophthalmic socket and the contralateral normal orbit(P=0.192)as well the inferior fornix depth(P=0.351).CONCLUSION:Acquired anophthalmic sockets repaired with spheric implants have shorter LPS,thicker SR,and more lagophthalmos than normal *** relationship of the LPS and SR with other orbital structures,associated with passive or active forces acting in the final position of the lids and external ocular prosthesis should be further investigated.

Tropical peat comprises decomposed dead plant material and acts like a sponge to absorb water,making it fully ***,drought periods dry it readily and increases its vulnerability to *** fires emit greenhouse gases and particles contributing to haze,and prevention by constructing fire-break canals to reduce fire spread into forest reserves is *** paper aims to determine peat physical and chemical properties near a fire-break canal at different fire frequency *** sampling was conducted at two forest reserves in Malaysia which represent low fire frequency and high fire frequency *** results show that peat properties were not affected by the construction of a fire-break canal,however lignin and cellulose content increased significantly from the distance of the canal in both *** study concluded that fire frequency did not significantly influence peat properties except for *** higher fibre content in the high frequency area did not influence moisture content nor the ability to regain ***,fire frequency might contribute differently to changes in physical and chemical properties,hence management efforts to construct fire-break canals and restoration efforts should protect peatlands from further *** findings will benefit future management and planning for forest reserves.

In this editorial,we discuss the article by Agatsuma et *** concentrate specifically on the current routinely used screening tests recommended by society guidelines and delve into the significance of early diagnosis of colorectal cancer(CRC)and its substantial impact on both incidence and mortality *** is highly recommended,and an early diagnosis stands out as the most crucial predictor of survival for CRC ***,it is essential to identify and address the barriers hindering adherence to screening measures,as these barriers can vary among different ***,we focus on screening strategy optimization by selecting high-risk *** with comorbidities who regularly visit hospitals have been diagnosed at an early stage,showing no significant difference compared to patients undergoing regular *** finding highlights the importance of extending screening measures to include patients with comorbidities who do not routinely visit the hospital.

Thermal heat flux distribution prediction in an electrical vehicle battery cell using finite element analysis and neural network

In terms of battery design and evaluation,Electric Vehicles(EVs)are receiving a great deal of attention as a modern,eco-friendly,sustainable transportation *** this paper,a novel battery pack is designed to maintain a uniform temperature distribution,allowing the battery to operate within its optimal temperature *** proposed battery design is part of a main channel where a portion of cool air will pass from an inlet then exit from an outlet where a uniform temperature distribution is ***,a 3-D model of a battery cell was created,followed by thermal simulation for 15C,25C,and 35C ambient *** simulation results reveal that the temperature distribution is nearly uniform,with slightly higher values in the middle portion of the cell ***,using finite element analysis(FEA),it was determined that the heat flux per unit area is nearly uniform with a slight increase at the ***,a machine learning model is proposed by utilizing a neural network(NN).Lastly,the heat flux values were predicted using the NN model that was *** model was assessed based on statistical measures where a root mean square error(RMSE)value of 0.87%was *** NN outperformed FEA in terms of time consumption with a high prediction accuracy,leveraging the potential of adopting machine learning over FEA in related operational assessments.

Numerical Exploration of Asymmetrical Impact Dynamics: Unveiling Nonlinearities in Collision Problems and Resilience of Reinforced Concrete Structures

This study provides a comprehensive analysis of collision and impact problems’ numerical solutions, focusing ongeometric, contact, and material nonlinearities, all essential in solving large deformation problems during a *** initial discussion revolves around the stress and strain of large deformation during a collision, followedby explanations of the fundamental finite element solution method for addressing such issues. The hourglassmode’s control methods, such as single-point reduced integration and contact-collision algorithms are detailedand implemented within the finite element framework. The paper further investigates the dynamic responseand failure modes of Reinforced Concrete (RC) members under asymmetrical impact using a 3D discrete modelin ABAQUS that treats steel bars and concrete connections as bond slips. The model’s validity was confirmedthrough comparisons with the node-sharing algorithm and system energy relations. Experimental parameterswere varied, including the rigid hammer’s mass and initial velocity, concrete strength, and longitudinal and stirrupreinforcement ratios. Findings indicated that increased hammer mass and velocity escalated RC member damage,while increased reinforcement ratios improved impact resistance. Contrarily, increased concrete strength did notsignificantly reduce lateral displacement when considering strain rate effects. The study also explores materialnonlinearity, examining different materials’ responses to collision-induced forces and stresses, demonstratedthrough an elastic rod impact case study. The paper proposes a damage criterion based on the residual axialload-bearing capacity for assessing damage under the asymmetrical impact, showing a correlation betweendamage degree hammer mass and initial velocity. The results, validated through comparison with theoreticaland analytical solutions, verify the ABAQUS program’s accuracy and reliability in analyzing impact problems,offering valuable insights into collision
