Cancer-related to the nervous system and brain tumors is a leading cause of mortality in various *** resonance imaging(MRI)and computed tomography(CT)are utilized to capture brain *** plays a crucial role in the diagnosis of brain tumors and the examination of other brain ***,manual assessment of MRI images by radiologists or experts is performed to identify brain tumors and abnormalities in the early stages for timely ***,early diagnosis of brain tumors is intricate,necessitating the use of computerized *** research introduces an innovative approach for the automated segmentation of brain tumors and a framework.for classifying different regions of brain *** proposed methods consist of a pipeline with several stages:preprocessing of brain images with noise removal based on Wiener Filtering,enhancing the brain using Principal Component Analysis(PCA)to obtain well-enhanced images,and then segmenting the region of interest using the Fuzzy C-Means(FCM)clustering technique in the third *** final step involves classification using the Support Vector Machine(SVM)*** classifier is applied to various types of brain tumors,such as meningioma and pituitary tumors,utilizing the Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging(CE-MRI)*** proposed method demonstrates significantly improved contrast and validates the effectiveness of the classification framework.achieving an average sensitivity of 0.974,specificity of 0.976,accuracy of 0.979,and a Dice Score(DSC)of ***,this method exhibits a shorter processing time of 0.44 s compared to existing *** performance of this method emphasizes its significance when compared to state-of-the-art methods in terms of sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,and *** enhance the method further in the future,it is feasible to standardize the approach by incorporating a set of classifiers to increase the robustness of the brain classi

Choanal atresia (CA) is a rare occlusion of the posterior choanae. Unilateral cases have been reported more than bilaterally, and it’s more often right-sided in those patients. According to the literature, mixed bony-membranous atresia is the most common type. There is a high incidence of craniofacial and visceral anomalies associated with congenital choanal atresia. Therefore, investigation for associated congenital anomalies is an important step before the surgery. We report 2 cases of incidental finding of unilateral choanal atresia in a 21- and 17-year-old with nasal discharge being the only complaint in the former and nasal obstruction with headache in the latter. The patients were then scheduled for day-surgery as a case of choanal atresia for transnasal, endoscopic repair and posterior septectomy. The patients were discharged home on the same day with the absence of restenosis or other complications.

The interaction of cationic gemini surfactants(alk.nediyl-α,ω-bis(alk.l dimethylammonium bromide)) with an antipsychotic drug(chlorpromazine hydrochloride(CPZ)) has been investigated. Various micellar and interfacial parameters have been deliberated by surface tension measurement to report the nature of interactions between drug and novel surfactant mixtures. The behavior of mixed systems, their compositions and activities of components have been analyzed in the light of Rubingh's theory. The results indicate synergism in the binary *** binding study between CPZ and surfactants has been done by spectroscopic techniques such as UV–visible and fluorescence. The results are discussed in the light of the use of gemini surfactants as promising drug delivery agents for phenothiazine drugs, and hence, improve their bioavailability.

Synthesis of Dy_2O_3 nanoparticles via hydroxide precipitation: effect of calcination temperature

This work.described the preparation of dysprosium oxide, Dy203, nanoparticles using the homogeneous precipitation method. Dy3＋ ions were precipitated using NaOH solution. The obtained product was filtered, dried, and then calcined for 1 h at the temperature range of 300-700 ℃ in static air. The calcination temperature of the Dy-precttrsor was chosen based on its decomposi- tion as indicated by the TGA analysis. The crystalline structure and surface morphology of the calcined solids were studied by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, field emission scanning electron microscopy （FE-SEM）, transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and X-ray pho- toelectron spectroscopy （XPS）. The obtained results revealed that Dy203 with crystallites size of 11-21 nm was formed at 500 ℃. Such value increased to 25-37 nm for the sample calcined at 700 ℃.

This study focuses on the preparation of nanostructured holmium oxide via the decomposition of holmium acetate precursor utilizing the non-isothermal strategy. Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) was used to follow up the various thermal events involved in the decomposition process. Dehydration completes approximately at 150℃, which is followed by the decomposition of the anhydrous acetate leading to the formation of holmium oxide. Based on the TGA results the acetate precursor was heated non-isothermally at the temperature range of 150 e700℃. The obtained solids were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction(XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), field-emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). It is found that nanocrystalline Ho_2 O_3 starts to form at 500℃ and presents the only phase detected at the 500 e700℃ range. The electrical conductivity of the solids that form at the temperature range of 300 e700℃ was investigated. The obtained values were correlated with the observed structural modifications accompanying the heat treatment. The electrical conductivity of the Ho_2 O_3 samples prepared at 500, 600 and 700℃ reaches the values of 1.92 × 10^(-7), 1.61 × 10^(-7) and 8.33 × 10^(-8) Ω^(-1)cm^(-1) at a measuring temperature of 500℃, respectively. These values are potentially advantageous for high-resistivity devices.

Novel steroidal （6R）-spiro-1,3,4-thiadiazoline derivatives have been synthesized by the cyclization of steroidal thiosemiearbazones. Thiosemicarbazones have been synthesized by the reaction of steroidal k.tones with thiosemi- carbazide. All the compounds have been characterized by IR, 1H NMR, mass and elemental analyses. The antibacterial activities of these compounds have been first tested in vitro by the disk.diffusion assay against two Gram-positive and two Gram-negative bacteria, and then the minimum inhibitory concentration （MIC） values have been determined with the reference of standard drug amoxicillin. The results showed that steroidal thiadiazoline de- rivatives exhibited better antibacterial activity than the steroidal thiosemicarbazone derivatives. Chloro and acetoxy substituents on the 3β-position of the steroidal thiadiazoline ring increased the anti-bacterial activity. Among all the compounds, compounds 7 and 8 were found better inhibitors as compared to the respective drug amoxicillin.

The title compound exists as yellow （1Y） and red （1R） crystals, but both gave red solutions. The intermolecular interactions between the CN parts of the crystals in IY are very weak. By the mechanical crushing as well as in solution 1Y again becomes red due to the absence of intermolecular interactions. We explain this color behavior by crystallochromism and solvation chromism.
