This study investigates the effect of aluminium oxide nanoparticlesaddition to biodiesel blends made from dairy milk scum on performance and combustion characteristics of the diesel *** dispersion of al2O3nanoparticles in B20 blends at different concentrations was done with the help of *** number of blends were prepared for the *** Machine learning algorithms(Random Forest（RF）and CatBoost) was used for the *** results show that in comparison to biodiesel blends without nanoparticles,the kinematic viscosity and density is higher for fuel blends with *** these Fuel blends have higher calorific *** blends exhibited reduced Brake Specific Fuel Consumption（BSFC） of2.85% than the blends without nano particles(Dairy Scum Methyl Ester Biodiesel 20%+Neat Diesel 80%（in volume）,DSMEB20),57.14% less CO,40.8% less hydrocarbon,and increased NOxemissions compared to conventional diesel,contributing to the development of environmentally friendly and renewable biofuel blends with *** B20NP30 is the opti.al blend for performance and emission *** study concludes with findings on enhanced Brake Thermal Efficiency（BTE） of 26.29% in 3×10-5（in volume） al2O3nanoparticle-blended DSME B20 and other DSME B20 fuel blends,emphasizing the importance of opti.al nanoparticle *** correlation matrix shows how engine load,efficiency measures（BTE,BSFC）,and emissions（CO,CO2,NOx,Smoke） are connected in complex *** results help us understand the complicated dynamics of engine performance and emission characteristics ***'s diagram for BTE and BSFC shows that CatBoost-based BTE models perform superior to RF-based models during the training as well as testing *** results were obtained for CO and CO2emission results.

Characteristics of newly-formed cementum following emdogain application

Periodontal regenerative techniques have been proposed; however, the outcomes remain debatable. The present investigation assessed the regenerated cementum following enamel matrix derivative application in dehiscence-type defects. Buccal osseous dehiscences were surgi.ally created on the maxillary cuspid, and the second and fourth premolars in five female beagle dogs. The treatment group （n=15 sites） received the enamel matrix derived application, whereas the control groups （n=15） did not. The dogs were sacrificed 4 months following treatment and the specimens were histologi.ally and histometri.ally examined. The newly formed cementum was uneven in thickness and mineralization, overlapped the old cementum and exhibited functional orientation, cementocyte lacunae and collagen fibril bundles. Most of the histologi.al specimens showed the presence of a gap between the newly formed cementum and the underlying dentin. Control sites did not exhibit any cementum formation. The present study concluded that newly formed cementum is of cellular type and exhibits multiple characteristics.

The aim of the present real time in vivo micro-computed tomography （pCT） and histologic experiment was to assess the efficacy of guided bone regeneration （GBR） around standardized calvarial criti.al size defects （CSD） using bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells （BMSCs）, and collagen membrane （CM） with and without tri.alcium phosphate （TCP） graft material. in the calvaria of nine female Sprague-Dawley rats, full-thickness CSD （diameter 4.6 mm） were created under general anesthesia. Treatment-wise, rats were divided into three groups. in group 1, CSD was covered with a resorbable CM; in group 2, BMSCs were filled in CSD and covered with CM; and in group 3, TCP soaked in BMSCs was placed in CSD and covered with CM. all defects were closed using resorbable sutures. Bone volume and bone mineral density of newly formed bone （NFB） and remaining TCP particles and rate of new bone formation was determined at baseline, 2, 4, 6, and 10 weeks using in vivo pCT. At the lOth week, the rats were killed and calvarial segments were assessed histologi.ally. The results showed that the hardness of NFB was similar to that of the native bone in groups i and 2 as compared to the NFB in group 3. Likewise, values for the modulus of elasticity were also significantly higher in group 3 compared to groups 1 and 2. This suggests that TCP when used in combination with BMSCs and without CM was unable to form bone of significant strength that could possibly provide mechani.al ＂lock＂ between the natural bone and NFB. The use of BMSCs as adjuncts to conventional GBR initiated new bone formation as early as 2 weeks of treatment compared to when GBR is attempted without adiunct BMSC therapy.

Diagnostic value of18F-FDG PET in the assessment of myocardial viability in coronary artery disease：A comparative study with99mTc SPECT and echocar-diography

ObjectiveTo investigate the diagnostic value of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography （18F-FDG PET） in the as-sessment of myocardial viability in patients with known coronary artery disease （CAD） when compared to99mTc single photon emission computed tomography （SPECT） and echocardiography, with invasive coronary angiography as the gold *** patients with diagnosed CAD met the selection criteria, with 10 of them （9 men, mean age 59.5 ± 10.5 years） undergoing all of these imaging proce-dures consisting of SPECT and PET, echocardiography and invasive angiography. Diagnostic sensitivity of these less invasive modalities for detection of myocardial viability was compared to invasive coronary angiography. inter- and intra-observer agreement was assessed for di-agnostic performance of SPECT and *** all patients with proven CAD, 50% had triple vessel disease. Diagnostic sensitivity of SPECT, PET and echocardiography was 90%, 100% and 80% at patient-based assessment, respectively. Excellent agreement was achieved between inter-observer and intra-observer agreement of the diagnostic value of SPECT and PET in myocardial viability （k= 0.9）. Conclusion18F-FDG PET has high diagnostic value in the assessment of myocardial viability in patients with known CAD when com-pared to SPECT and echocardiography. Further studies based on a large cohort with incorporation of18F-FDG PET into patient management are warranted.

Combined corneal CXL and photorefractive keratectomy for treatment of keratoconus: a review

Keratoconus and iatrogenic keratectasia are the corneal ectatic disorders occurring due to biomechani.al weakening of the cornea resulting in distorted images,myopia, and irregular astigmatism. Corneal collagen cross-linking(CXL) is performed to arrest keratoconus successfully. The main aim of this review is to discuss the safety and efficacy of the adjuvant therapies, such as the combination of CXL and photorefractive keratectomy(PRK) for the treatment of corneal ectatic disorders. A comprehensive literature search was performed using PubM ed, MEDLiNE, and Scopus using keywords ‘collagen’‘keratoconus’,‘keratectasia’,‘collagen cross-linking’,and ‘photorefractive keratectomy’. Search results were restricted to clini.al studies published in English. Corneal CXL effectively arrests the progression of keratoconus by enhancing corneal rigidity. However, functional vision is not improved by cross-linking. Combining CXL to refractive surgeries such as topography-guided PRK or transepithelial PRK is found to be a safe and effective method in providing corneal stability as well as significantly improving functional visual acuity with few minor complications. This combined technique also prevents regression of keratoconus and reduce the risk of keratectasia. CXL combined with PRK is a promising therapeutic approach in ophthalmology that can be successfully used to treat progressive keratoconus and other corneal ectatic disorders and to enhance visual acuity.

Factors affecting single-step transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy outcome in the treatment of mild,moderate,and high myopia:a cohort study

AiM:To investigate the effect of preoperative factors on visual acuity,higher-order aberrations(HOAs),and index of success for spheri.al change(***)after transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy(t-PRK)for treating different grades of ***:This was a retrospective one-armed cohort study where patients with high,moderate,or mild myopia treated with single-step t-PRK using Amaris 500 Hz excimer laser were evaluated for visual acuity,refractive status,corneal topography,HOAs,***,and mean efficiency and safety index before and 6 mo after ***:A total of 154 eyes of 77 patients with mild(n=59),moderate(n=83),and high(n=12)myopia were *** efficiency and safety indices for vision recovery by single-step t-PRK were 98%and 100%,*** achieved spheri.al equi.alent(SE)was within 1 diopter(D)in 151(98%)*** median of the *** was 1.18[interquartile range(iQR)1.0,1.4].The change in *** was significantly correlated with age(P=0.007),6.5 mm ablation zone(Mann-Whitney U test,Pild and moderate grade of myopia(Kruskal–Wallis test,Pil aberration,spheri.al aberration,and aberration coefficient types of HOA increased significantly(Wilcoxon test,Pignificant correlation between spheri.al aberration and aberration coefficient HOAs by myopia grades(PiON:Single-step t-PRK has promising short-term outcomes for refractive corrections and vision improvement to treat all three grades of myopia.

Could ketamine be the answer to treating treatment-resistant major depressive disorder?

Major depressive disorder(MDD)is a common,serious,debilitating condition affecting 350 million people worldwide,which remains to be unsatisfactorily treated with 53%of patients still complaining of symptoms after completing their courses with the correct ***,which was approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2019,is a potential treatment option for those recalcitrant *** mechanism of ketamine is not fully understood,but as type it is classified as an N-methyl-D-aspartate(NMDA)glutamate receptor antagonist,and can be given intravenously,intranasally and *** is used to treat treatment-resistant depression,depression associated with suici.al ideation,mood and anxiety disorders and depressions associated with either type of bipolar *** ketamine is considered relatively safe,several side effects have been reported with the major ones being psychiatric in the form of worsening mood,anxiety and agitation;psychotomimetic in the form of dissociation,perceptual disturbance and abnormal sensations;cardiovascular in the form of increased blood pressure and increased heart rate;and neurologi.al in the form of headache and *** is still not approved worldwide for usage in patients with treatment-resistant MDD,but if it is approved sometime in the future with relatively fewer side effects,it is expected to significantly save millions of dollars spent yearly on patients with treatment-resistant depression and that will lift this major burden off the shoulders of healthcare *** study was designed to measure the effects of ketamine,an NMDA receptor antagonist,on patients with treatment-resistant MDD and to analyse the concept that makes it different and relatively safer than other major antidepressants like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors,monoamine oxidase inhibitors and TCAs(tricyclic antidepressants).

An Efficient Path Planning Strategy in Mobile Sink Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are considered the backbone ofthe internet of Things (ioT), which enables sensor nodes (SNs) to achieveapplications similarly to human intelligence. However, integrating a WSNwith the ioT is challenging and causes issues that require careful *** the lifetime of a network through appropriately utilising energyconsumption is among the essential challenges due to the limited resourcesof SNs. Thus, recent research has examined mobile sinks (MSs), which havebeen introduced to improve the overall efficiency of WSNs. MSs bear theburden of data collection instead of consuming energy at the routeing bySNs. in a network, some areas generate more data through SNs that containfrequent, urgent messages. These messages carry sensitive data that must bedelivered immediately to user applications. Collecting such messages via MSs,especially on a large scale, increases delays, which are not tolerable in some realapplications. This issue has not been studied much. Thus, the present studyutilises the advantages of the priority parameter to concentrate on these areasand proposes a new model named ‘energy efficient path planning of MS-basedarea priority’ (EEPP-BAP). This method involves non-urgent and urgentmessages. it is comprised of four procedures. initially, after SNs are distributedrandomly in a wide monitoring field, the monitoring field is partitionedinto equal zones according to priority, either differently or equally. Next isclustering based on the cluster head (CH) selected to perform the particleswarm optimisation algorithm (PSO). Then, the MS moves first to the zoneswith higher priority and less distance to perform the brain storm optimisationalgorithm. Fi.ally, for urgent messages from the other zones at which theMS continues, the proposed approach establishes a routeing technique usingmulti-hop communication based on the MS position and using PSO. Graft survi.al and visual outcome after simultaneous penetrating keratoplasty and cataract extraction

AiM: To evaluate the indications, complications, and visual and graft survi.al outcomes in eyes that had undergone simultaneous cataract extraction and penetrating keratoplasty (PKP). ·METHODS: We described a retrospective study of 101 patients who had undergone simultaneous cataract extraction and PKP at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospi.al between January 1, 2001, and December 31, 2002. all patients were followed up postoperatively with maximum follow-up 68 months. ·RESULTS: The mean age of patients was 61 years. The mean overall follow -up was 27 months. The most common indications for surgery were corneal scarring (45.5% ), previous failed graft (15.8% ), corneal ulcer (12.9% ), Fuchs endothelial dystrophy (8.9% ), stromal dystrophy (2.9% ), and other conditions (14.5% ). Overall, 69 grafts (68.3% ) remained clear at fi.al follow -up. Previous glaucoma or postoperative glaucoma had no statisti.ally significant effects on graft outcome (P >0.05). The graft rejection rate (17.8% ) was a significant risk factor for failure (P =0.00). Age, gender, indications for surgery, corneal graft diameter, and intraoperative vitreous loss had no statisti.ally significant effects on the PKP outcome (P >0.05). Postoperative visual acuity was significantly associated with preoperative visual acuity (P iON: The present study provides evidence that performing a combined procedure results in more rapid visual rehabilitation and good graft clarity.
