The sandstones of the Late miocene–Pliocene Dibdibba Formation in the Najaf–Karbala Plateau and Basra were examined to determine their source rocks and origin. The rare earth elements(REE) and trace elements(sc, Co, V, and Th) concentrations in these sandstones revealed that they likely derived from a single source. The steep light rare earth elements(LREE) and flat, heavy rare earth element(HREE) patterns, negative Eu anomaly, and high ΣREE contents in sandstones suggest its derivation from a suggests that a passive continental margin environment and originated from felsic source rocks. The average concentration of ΣREE is 93.5 ppm, which is lower than that of the average crustal compositions like Upper Continental Crust and Post Archean Australian shale. The higher proportion of LREE compared to HREE implies that these sandstones were recycled and derived from a distal source. The Th/Co, Th/sc, La/sc, La/Co, Eu/Eu*and(La/Lu)cn elemental ratios indicated that these Late Miocene–Pliocene sandstones were derived from felsic rocks located in the marginal region of the Arabian shield.

Due to the exponential growth of video data,aided by rapid advancements in multimedia *** became difficult for the user to obtain information from a large video *** process of providing an abstract of the entire video that includes the most representative frames is known as static video *** method resulted in rapid exploration,indexing,and retrieval of massive video *** propose a framework for static video summary based on a Binary Robust Invariant scalable Keypoint(BRIsK)and bisecting K-means clustering *** current method effectively recognizes relevant frames using BRIsK by extracting keypoints and the descriptors from video *** video frames’BRIsK features are clustered using a bisecting K-means,and the keyframe is determined by selecting the frame that is most near the cluster *** applying any clustering parameters,the appropriate clusters number is determined using the silhouette *** were carried out on a publicly available open video project(OVP)dataset that contained videos of different *** proposed method’s effectiveness is compared to existing methods using a variety of evaluation metrics,and the proposed method achieves a trade-off between computational cost and quality.

seven Cornulites species, including a new one—Cornulites leonei n. sp., are described from the Upper Ordovician Portixeddu Formation(Katian, stage slices Ka2-3) of sardinia and the Cavá(lower Katian,stage slice Ka2) and Estana(upper Katian, stage slices Ka3-4) formations of the Pyrenees. The sardinian and Pyrenean cornulitids represent an adaptation to live in environments with high sedimentation rates and limited hard substrates availability. Their prominent annuli could have had a stabilizing function in the soft sediment that helped cornulitids to keep a favourable position in the sediment to enable suspension feeding. The known Late Ordovician cornulitid diversity in different Gondwana areas is low, usually ranging from one to three taxa, being higher(seven) in sardinia. Like other benthic groups during the Late Ordovician, the cornulitid tubeworm faunas within the high-latitude peri-Gondwana Province indicate a certain endemism and share morphological and ecological affinities, such as a small body size and tubes with a strikingly small apical angle. although essentially endemic, some links with cornulitids from the Late Ordovician of scotland are revealed.

Dermoid cysts are benign tumors originating from germ cells, which can form in various locations, including the nasal area in rare cases. They are of unknown exact etiology, but it is suggested that it is due to abnormal tissue migration during early embryonic development. Nasal dermoid cysts albeit rare, can present in various forms such as sinuses, fistulas, or intracranially extending tracts. They can be asymptomatic and incidentally discovered or present with a visible external mass or sinus that is either painful, infected or cosmetically concerning. If nasal dermoid cysts with an intra-nasal bone sinus tract are left untreated, they can lead to life-threatening complications. This report describes the case of a 6-year-old girl with a nasal dermoid cyst connected to a superficial punctum by an intra-nasal tract. she had undergone surgical excision of a nasal swelling previously diagnosed as a dermoid cyst. One year later, she returned to our clinic with a recurrence of the nasal swelling. Imaging tests revealed a nasal dermoid cyst with a tract extending to the nasal tip, without intracranial expansion. The cyst, along with the entire tract, was successfully removed surgically, and the postoperative follow-up indicated no complications. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of a dermoid cyst. This case underscores the significance of considering the dermoid tract in nasal cyst cases and the necessity of its complete removal to prevent recurrence.

Ragahama Formation comprises a siliciclastic continental deposits followed by marine carbonates, representing prograding alluvial fans from adjacent high hinterlands seaward into lagoons and fringing reef environments. The present work aimed to document the facies development and sedimentology of the Raghama carbonates exposed along the eastern coastal plain of the Red sea, northwestern saudi Arabia. Four stratigraphic sections were measured and sampled(D1–D4) and thin sections and major and trace element analyses were prepared and applied for petrographic and geochemical approaches. The carbonates were subdivided into three successive fore-reef, reef-core, and back-reef depositional facies. sandy stromatolitic boundstone, microbial laminites, dolomitic ooidal grainstone, bioclastic coralline algal wackestone, sandy bioclastic wackestone, and coral boundstones were the reported microfacies types. Petrographic analysis reveals that the studied carbonates were affected by dissolution, dolomitization, and aggrading recrystallization, which affects both the original micrite matrix and grains or acts as fracture and veinlet filling leading to widespread vuggy and moldic porosity. No evidence of physical compaction, suggesting rapid lithification and recrystallization during early diagenesis and prior to substantial burial and intensive flushing by meteoric waters. Most of the original microstructure of corals were leached and destructed. This is indicated by the higher depletion in sr and Ca levels and increase in Mg,Na, Fe, and Mn levels, especially in section D1, in comparison with the worldwide carbonates.

The sluggish kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is the key tailback for hydrogen production from the water *** OER with thermodynamically auspicious methanol oxidation reaction(MOR)can significantly boost the H_(2) and value-added products ***,it is currently challenging to achieve a synergistic manipulation of product selectivity and performance for MOR ***,we report NisnPH@OOH/CC(CC=carbon cloth)perovskite hydroxide nanosphere as an efficient MOR electrocatalyst with high activity,stability,and selectivity towards methanol oxidation to formate.A surface amorphous layer of defect rich NiOOH was generated in operando by selective sn leaching with stable perovskite hydroxide bulk structure,which mitigates the oxidative power and optimizes the local coordination environment of the active NiOOH *** situ Raman combined with electrochemical studies further confirm the key active species,NiOOH,generated in operando enhance the MOR and blocking the over oxidation of methanol to CO_(2).As a result,NisnPH@OOH/CC effectively masks the OER and attains>99%selectivity with 100%Faradic efficiency for *** results of this study show the advances of NisnPH@OOH/CC as an efficient electrocatalyst for MOR and also suggest its potential applications for various small organic molecules oxidation.

Choanal atresia (CA) is a rare occlusion of the posterior choanae. Unilateral cases have been reported more than bilaterally, and it’s more often right-sided in those patients. According to the literature, mixed bony-membranous atresia is the most common type. There is a high incidence of craniofacial and visceral anomalies associated with congenital choanal atresia. Therefore, investigation for associated congenital anomalies is an important step before the surgery. We report 2 cases of incidental finding of unilateral choanal atresia in a 21- and 17-year-old with nasal discharge being the only complaint in the former and nasal obstruction with headache in the latter. The patients were then scheduled for day-surgery as a case of choanal atresia for transnasal, endoscopic repair and posterior septectomy. The patients were discharged home on the same day with the absence of restenosis or other complications.
