The sunn pest Eurygaster integriceps is the m.st im.ortant insect of cereals in Iraq and other countries. In this study, the field efficacy of 10 different kinds of insecticides with various m.de of action was evaluated against sunn pest E. integriceps infested wheat on field at m.ddle oflraq. Experim.nts were conducted in 11 wheat fields with each field 0.5 ha, located in the m.ddle of Iraq （Wasit and Salahudain govem.rates） during season 2015-2016. The wheat fields contained com.on varieties of wheat planted in Iraq. The population density of the pest was at its highest level （start of April 2015） of m.stly nym.hs, adults and eggs. The results indicated that the recom.ended dose for each insecticide used showed high efficacy （80.1%-93.8%） in reducing num.er of E. integriceps adults after one week of treatm.nt, reaching 0.2-0.8 insects/m.2 com.ared to 3.6 insects/m. in the control treatm.nt. These results will assist the control program.of this pest and in im.lem.nting pest m.nagem.nt practices to reduce resistance developm.nt chances.

AIm. To study the frequency, gender and age distribution as well as pathological characteristics of colorectal carcinom. （CRC） in Lagos and Sagam. in SW Nigeria. m.THODS： This is a retrospective pathological review of histologically diagnosed CRC from.5 laboratories inLagos ＆ Sagam.. The clinical data, such as age, sex and clinical sum.ary were extracted from.dem.graphic inform.tion. Cases of anal cancer were excluded from.this study. RESULTS： There were 420 cases （237 m.les and 183 fem.les） of CRC. It peaked in the 60-69 year age group （m.an： 50.7; SD： 16.2）, m.F ratio 1.3：1 and 23% occurred below 40 years. The m.jority was well to m.derately differentiated adenocarcinom. 321 （76.4%）, rnucinous carcinom. 45 （10.7%） and signet ring carcinom. 5 （1.2%）, and m.re com.on in patients under 40 years com.ared to well differentiated tum.rs. The recto-sigm.id colon was the m.st com.on site （58.6%）. About 51% and 34% of cases presented at TNm.stages Ⅱand Ⅲ, respectively. CONCLUSION： CRC is the com.onest m.lignant gastrointestinal （GIT） tum.r m.st com.only located in the recto-sigm.id region. The age and sex prevalence and histopathological features concur with reports from.other parts of the world.

Over the years,the devastating im.act of clim.te change has becom. pronounced due to inadequate regulation for waste disposal in a developing country like *** chicken feather-based m.tal oxide-rich(m.R)biochar was produced using a top-lit updraft reactor at a peak tem.erature of 417.2℃to give a yield of 28.19%.The results were analyzed using Brunauer-Em.ett-Teller BET,Scanning Electron m.croscopy(SEm.,Fourier Transform.Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy(EDS),and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy(XRF).The result shows that the sam.le is m.soporous(pore diam.ter of 2.132 nm.with a BET surface area of 105.7 m.(2)/***(33.147 wt%)and SO_(3)(25.673 wt%)were the m.jor oxides present in notable proportions on the m.terial surface,which were evident in the SEm.*** m.jor elem.ntal com.ositions of the raw sam.le were oxygen(36.917 wt%)and calcium.23.690 wt%),and the m.jor m.nerals present were quartz,m.rialite,davyne,and *** present study elucidates the successful and efficient m.terial recovery route for the preparation of adsorbents and precursors for m.ny product synthesis processes.

The study was carried out to induce variations and stim.late callus induction, plant regeneration from.different explants of two tom.to （Lycopersicon esculentum.m.ll.） cultivars Trescantos and super Regina by using tissue culture technique and Sodium.azide as a chem.cal m.tagens at concentrations （0.0, 2.0 and 4.0） m. under salinity stress condition at the levels（3.0, 6.0 and 9.0） dS/m. Different plant growth regulators were tested for their potentials in callus induction. The results revealed that treated seeds with SA （sodium.azide） at concentration （2.0） m. increased seed germ.nation percentage, seedling height and root length as com.are to control treatm.nt. While （4.0） m. concentration cause a reduction in all param.ters m.ntioned above. Concerning to callus induction both cultivars showed a different response against different tested m.dia with varying concentrations of plant growth regulators and despite their variable response to all tested m.dia a com.ination of （2.0） m. from.Kinetin （KIN） and lndol acetic acid （IAA） was found to be the m.st effective as com.are to other treatm.nts. m.reover, when callus transferred to a stressed m.dia the variation was observed in explants fresh weight, and high reduction with the increm.nt of salt level were recorded. Sim.larly the regeneration efficiency from.stressed callus were observed at the level 3.0 and 6.0 dS/m.while 9.0 dS/m.the callus failed to regenerate plants for all three explants of both tom.to cultivars.

Background: Yellow fever is transm.tted prim.rily to hum.ns and non-hum.n prim.tes through the bite of an infected fem.le m.squito Aedes Spp. It is prevented m.inly by vaccination. m.thod: This retrospective observational study at the Center for Com.unicable Disease Control and Research (CCDCR) Federal m.dical Center Asaba (F.m.C) was conducted on all patients diagnosed and m.naged with yellow fever in the year 2020. We studied a total num.er of 57 patients’ case files seen within the period. A chi-square test was done to test the null and alternative hypotheses. Result: About 48 (84.2%) m.les and fem.le 9 (15.8%) fem.les were m.stly affected and gender was significant with a chi-squared value of 26.6 and p-value of 0.00. Conclusion: To eradicate this virus, vaccination and health prom.tions should be encouraged by the health care workers supported by the governm.nt. This is to ensure that a greater proportion of the affected com.unity can be im.unized.
